  1. Just use a cardreader? Why bother with wifi or a cable in the first place?
  2. Thanks, I've been lucky last few weeks ☺️ sometimes you see great skies for days, sometimes it's months without anything useful. Missed a great one yesterday, still kicking myself
  3. I travel a lot too, I'm usually happy with just one lens and one backup. Usually 35/2 on the cam and the 16 in the bag. In your case, I'd just pickup the 16-55 and a fast prime for evenings and indoor.
  4. Climbing out of Nice, France, towards Switzerland. X-T2 & XF35/2.
  5. WR means weather resistant, not waterproof. The sealing is there for accidental exposure only, not for continuous use. You can get lucky for a long time, but sooner or later you will run into problems if you use it like that.
  6. I've had mine since it was released. I got a demo sample on the cheap. And while I like it, I will agree with most reviewers that the regular 56 is still the one to get.
  7. For manual focusing on the 35, try adding a lens tab. I got one from lenstaab.com. The small one.
  8. Your focal plane is likely to be only a sliver, so missing focus is probably just because you and/or your subject moved a few mm between focusing and pressing the shutter. Shooting anything wide open is usually bound to give you the impression focus is off, while it's just a normal side effect. I miss focus all the time. And while there sure are duds around as far as lenses and cameras go, their number is greatly exaggerated by people on forums...
  9. 55-200 if on a budget. 50-140 with one of the teleconverters if not and if weight is not an issue.
  10. Would it be nice to have? For some people, sure. Will it come anytime soon? Most likely not. Fuji is not Sony, they have to play the long game with development spread over much longer lifespans than the average Sony product. The A7 II was released just 2 years ago, and before that only the Olympus was great and it was their proprietary technology. There are plenty or rumours abound about how Sony got the technology that quickly after their deal with Olympus, even though they both said there was no such deal. It can probably be done, but most likely the sensor technology is not around yet to compensate for light loss in the corners and other side effects. Remember that Fuji has to work with the sensor technology already on the market. As for OIS in the lenses, I do think they should have added it to the 16-55. And perhaps the 90mm. I don't miss it at all on the 56mm though or my other primes.
  11. I like this set!
  12. First one and last one are my favourites! Great shots.
  13. Powerful story, glad you made it out safe.
  14. Great shots!
  15. Distortion is a non-issue mostly nowadays with decent processing in camera and/or afterwards. And as far as the sharpness of the f2 is concerned at close focus distance and wide open, I think it's just perfectly fine, even for pixel peepers.
  16. Much faster, yes. Fine detail was already fine enough for my non-pixelpeeping needs.
  17. I find that both systems are so close together nowadays, it doesn't matter much anymore which you use. Also, Apple is not the first to take out the sd card slot, on the new Thinkpad X1 it's also gone...
  18. It's not the cards, I use the same and I have had the freezing couple of times, also when not taking pictures.
  19. Just got called to do an unforeseen stop at Tel Aviv, this will be my kit for the day. If there's anyone in Tel Aviv tomorrow who's up for a photowalk, feel free to let me know! So, what to take for just 1 day in a city I don't know that well? Usually, if it's my first time somewhere, I prefer to shoot film, to capture my first impressions without thinking too much or reviewing what I'm doing. Better focus on the experience. Though I have been to Tel Aviv before, I never had sufficient time for some snaps, so hopefully tomorrow will be better. My mixed kit this time is: Fujifilm X-T2 35/2 16/1.4 Fujifilm TX-1 (in it's Hasselblad Xpan disguise) 45/4 3 spare batteries for the X-T2, though I rarely need more than 1 extra. 2 spare batteries for the Xpan. 5 spare rolls of film (2 rolls of Cinestill 800T and 3 rolls of Fujifilm Superia 200, cause I'm out of Portra. If you push Superia 2 stops in post and meter for the shade at ISO500, the result is very Portra-like). Lens pen, though I avoid using this unless it's really necessary, I clean my lenses before I leave with Cura Lens Cleaner and wipes. Peak Design Slide Lite. Peak Design Leash, I prefer the wrist strap for street shooting with the Xpan. I could fit a small water bottle if needed, there is plenty of wiggle room left in the bag.
  20. Travel/street/landscape, either 35 will be a fine all purpose lens.
  21. Have you tried videolan player?
  22. I think more people are anxiously awaiting some long telephoto primes, those should be next on the roadmap.
  23. I shoot portraits with all my lenses. Depends mostly on your framing which one you should pick. 16-18mm range: environmental portraits, full body shots with some framing going on. 23mm: street shots, reportage style 35mm: street shots, reportage style, general purpose everyday lens 56-60mm: headshots, posed portraits, need for more shallow dof 50-140: kids, or anything that moves
  24. The 50-140 f2.8 is the equivalent to a Canon 70-200 f4 on a FF camera. There is already an 18-135 lens out there in the same line-up and a 55-200 too. If anything, most people would probably like to see faster zooms, like the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 and 50-100 f1.8.
