  1. Dfine from Nik Efex is not bad, once you learn how to use it. And it's free!
  2. If your hood is not clicked in place, the petals will be off any you'll see vignetting. So try the hood again.
  3. Fuji needs to make the next 35 faster, like the much requested 35 f1 to make the difference in speed significant again.
  4. Still shooting film on occasion is the best battery saving tip I know, makes you think before you turn on the camera.
  5. Just 1 stop is not enough of a difference in my book and I've also handled both and bokeh wide open on both is very nice. Preferences are merely subjective at best. And I think the f2 flares better when shot into the light. On top of that the f2 adds lower price, wr and better autofocus to the package, at the cost of only 1 measly stop. I'd say the argument for most users should go firmly to the f2 version.
  6. Gorgeous!
  7. F1.4 to f2 is not that big a leap in dof as most people think. And I'll take 9 aperture blades over 7 any day.
  8. All controls have a C function now to move them to the dials, if wanted so by user. Lots of people actually prefer setting aperture/shutter/iso via the dials, not the knobs, believe it or not. Nobody is forcing you to use either option exclusively, which makes sense on such an expensive machine.
  9. Still waiting for the baby here... Any day now... X-T2, 35 f2
  10. Congrats! :-)
  11. I had the larger cup for the X-T1, but prefer the new one. My glasses bother me less with the new cup.
  12. Also, whole different audience and pay grade... Very little people on this forum would actually need a beast like that... It caters to a completely different part of the camera market.
  13. Do you have one of the lcd's in bright perhaps?
  14. I'll contact you when I need a new kidney!
  15. It used to be that by the time you needed 3200, it was time to head for the bar anyway ;-)
  16. The 9.3 update is yet not found in Capture One itself, but I can confirm the download is available of their website.
  17. But also, as someone who still shoots film as well, anything over ISO 3200 is just bonus anyway, I rarely need more than 1600 to be honest.
  18. This basically. I've seen it only once, at a wedding where I shot RAW + jpeg, in the hopes of not having to do much post work on the files. It was shot in a dark barn, and my shots without flash were unusable due to the smearing. All the raws and shots with lighting were just fine. I've just shot RAW from that day on with the X100T and X-T1, but on the X-T2, my first impression of the jpeg engine is that it is much improved and now perfectly useable for all occasions.
  19. Yes, it's a jpeg engine only problem.
  20. c-af, medium square, set focus priority in the menu to "focus", not "release". Use the normal shutter, not electronic one. Set the shutter speed at 1/100 or 1/125 and iso to ramp up in auto to 6400 at least. For conference shots, higher iso should not be that bad. Should your subject be static enough, you can consider dropping shutter speed one stop to gain a stop in iso. Small square will make it difficult to focus quickly enough. As long as you have some distance from the subject, medium should be good enough. 5 fps burst should be good enough too. Rather shoot short bursts than one long one. As for the autofocus modes, I think the one that says "ignore stuff appearing and stick to the subject", don't remember which one that was.
  21. Strange, mine won't find the update.
  22. Whoops, apparently that's already on the road map... So we urgently need something else to be disappointed about, IBIS anyone? :-)
  23. Queue wedding shooters asking for a 100mm f2 in 3... 2... 1... ;-)
  24. Most pro's will rent at that price point for those few times they actually need that kind of firepower. Makes little sense to buy one, unless you consistently need it and get paid for it.
