  1. Hey X-Folks.. I just wanted to know what you guys would say about new compositon grids in the viewfinder / lcd screen. One of the advantages of Mirrorless with EVF is basically that you can put anything in there from histrogram to framing guidelines.. most people will have the thirds grid on which shows the rule of third lines.. the other possibilities would be the 24 grid mode which has many lines and the 16:9 mode.. How about more lines and more useful ones? Like the Golden Ratio and Spirale (mirrored in all directions) diagonals, a horizontal line for symmetry and more.. I would love to see Fuji implementing these into the Screen Info.. They don't hurt.. nobody needs to use them.. Their existence wouldnt mess up the menu. They would be a useful addition in some cases.. Getting a symmetrical shot can be hard and most of us end up cropping alot afterwards. I like this one(dont know the name):
  2. I just switched from Nikon to Fuji about two months ago! I sold my Nikon D750, D5200 and lenses and bought the X-T1, X-E1 (backup body) and the X-100 as a travel camera. I also got the 56mm 1.2 R, the 23mm 1.4 and the Rokinon 10mm 2.8. I've done one wedding so far and several real estate jobs and I am in love with Fuji! Their lens selection is superb and their primes are to drool over. Knowing what I could get from their lenses was the deciding factor in my decision to switch. I'm in love with the X-T1. It has spoiled me for DSLR's. I never want to go back. There is something about shooting with Fuji's that inspires and is enjoyable. Fuji camera's also have some much class and style. In my opinion, the graphite silver X-T1 is the best looking digital camera on the market, followed very closely by the X100 series. I love photography and Fuji's enhance that love. They inspire creativity. I'm so happy to have the Fuji community to be able to connect with! Attached is a shot I got of my wife in a hotel room several weeks back. Taken with the X-100.
  3. Heya folks. Here's some thoughts on shooting street photography with the X30. I know the X100 and X Pro 1 are the Kings of the Streets but I think the little guy deserves some love too. https://czechingoutofhere.wordpress.com/2015/09/17/street-photography-with-the-fujifilm-x30/
  4. Hey guys, Finally got around to penning a wee review of the X30 after a previous post on using it for street photography. If you've been thinking of picking one up or you're a fan of this great little camera, feel free to take a read. Cheers, James https://czechingoutofhere.wordpress.com/2015/11/02/fujifilm-x30-review/
  5. Here is an interview I discovered with Peter Griffiths (@fujiguys on twitter) who is a rep from Fuji UK. A couple of highlights... • Apparently in LR, you can change your camera calibration to apply Fujifilm film simulations (I haven't had a chance to check this out) • Will not reveal Fuji's direction towards full frame sensors, but they are committed to the quality of their APS-C, X-Trans CMOS Sensors I'm sure I missed a couple of interesting highlights as well, but these seemed to jump out at me. 7. I've just written up a new blog post here, outlining the settings I've worked out to get the most out of Iridient Digital's new X-Transformer conversion software. I did some rather rigorous testing over the past couple of days, to see if I can find an optimal starting point when working with Iridient + Lightroom. I was searching everywhere for suggested settings, but it being such a new product I was unable to find any real direction. Please have a read, and let me know what you think! I think the results are wonderful, but would love to hear others opinions. This is just a base starting point, prior to any further processing, but it makes a freshly converted X file look perfect. Cheers; Isaac
  8. Do you know what the widest rectilinear X-Mount prime lens currently available is and how good they are? I’ve heard great things about the Samyang 12mm, but what about the Samyang 10mm; is the quality good and the distortion low? There is the Venus Laowa 9mm apparently being launched, but I have seen scant information on this and whilst the images look good, they only come from one source. In any case, it’s not yet released, so I’d prefer not to wait. Are there any other rectilinear prime x-Mount lens choices below 12mm?
  9. I've recently borrowed this lens from Hamish Gill to try it on my Fuji X-E2s and write short review of 7artisans 12mm F2.8 lens on 35MMC Here's also related 7artisans 12mm F2.8 Flickr public group for lens samples I've purchased this lens after writing review, and now just waiting for better weather to make more live shots. Also the partial disassembly is planned soon : ) Please let me know if you have any questions on this lens, will be happy to share more details. 7artisans 12mm F2.8 shot with Fuji X-E2s
  10. Hello Guys My name is Amir, I'm a Photographer from Iran. I recently Joined this Community because I need your advice or opinion on a situation here. I'm a film shooter and recently I decided to buy a Fujifilm X Camera. I mainly do Landscapes, along with some portraits and street. I'm on a tight budget (roughly 1100$) and new Fuji products are very expensive here! (more than their normal price worldwide!) so I'm not in a good financial position to buy a Fuji X-T2... But recently I came across two options here. one is a brand new Fujifilm X-T1+18-55 kit lens around 800$ price tag (special offer) and the other one is a used X-T20+18-55 kit lens (roughly 2000 shots) around 950$. Depending on my needs, which one do you suggest? I'm planning to go with it for a minimum of 3 years so its a crucial choice for me here and also the weather sealing is a real deal breaker for me. what do you suggest? what should I do?
  11. I’ve purchased 7artisans 50mm F1.8 lens three weeks ago directly from eBay 7artisans store. Here's my short review on this lens: Lens Review – 7artisans 50mm F1.8 (FX Mount)

  13. I bought a used Fujifilm X-T1 from B&H with a 9+ condition. Knowing that it's a reputable company I am confident that the item was thoroughly checked when they got it from the previous owner. To cut the chase. While I was tinkering with the settings of the cam and how it functions, I was excited to try the wireless transfer feature. Thus, pressing the wifi button to try transfer or control the camera through wifi. But every time I pressed it the camera will just load the screen with the wireless thingie and when the green wireless signal icon flashed it suddenly freezes. Turning the camera off doesn't seem to work and I have to remove the battery to exit from it. Any advice on how to fix this? I'm on the latest firmware, by the way. I assume and hope that it's firmware problem and can get it fixed on the next update.
  14. Few weeks ago we finally exchanged rings with my wife. Nothing too big, a little ceremony at my parents garden with 60 friends and family members. Although my wife wasn't too happy, having me carrying my camera with me, I couldn't leave my Fuji in the bag and had to take some behind the scenes shots. Here are some of them. All shot with X-Pro2 and 35/1,4. 17. For X-shooters running Andorid on the Smartphone... with ver. 5.1 all the connectivity problems with Fujifilm Apps seem to be fixed (source - fujistas) I have an iPhone, but I experienced connectivity problems several times, when I tried to transfer images on an Android device of friends or fellow travellers I met during my journey through Cambodia. Can you confirm that it works flawlessly?
  18. Hello! I'm the happy owner of an X-T1 and XF14mm and I was thinking to buy the XF35mm 1.4 for street photography. I use the XF14mm for architecture and landscape photography, but sometimes I use it for street photography but it's to wide... Maybe XF16mm can be the solution? or is too close for city landscape? And what about XF16-55? Is it sharp as the other 2 lens? Can be a good instead of 2 lens? Thanks fro your opinion!
  19. The Last Kaizen: Imagine Fuji would, for a last time, release a Firmware update for older X-series cameras (X-PRO1, X-E1, X-E2, X20, X100S, X-M1 & Co) that will bring 2 new features. Which one would you like to get? Please choose just 2 New Firmware features, not more!
  20. Hello Fuji fans and also, X-Pro series lovers, I am really interested in the future X-Pro3, as I had the X-Pro1 and now I happily use the X-Pro2. We all have specific reasons to love the X-Pro series and I think the X-Pro3 would be an interesting topic to discuss, too. Looking at the launching dates of X-Pro1 and X-Pro2, compared to the dates when X-T1 and X-T2 were launched, I hoped I could see a pattern in Fujifilm's calendar; where X-Pro series presents us technical improvements that will follow on the X-T series. But with the rumoured X-T3 launching date for September 2018 and no consistent info on the upcoming X-Pro3, this pattern isn't valid any longer. We'll have, this time, the X-T3 before the X-Pro3, that we almost know nothing about. It seems the market trends and the competition can dictate changes in the calendar pattern I was talking about. I invite you to share your impressions on the X-Pro3; what would you like to see on this future model, when do you think it will be announced? So far, I could only speculate that X-Pro3 will get the improvements that are rumoured to be implemented within X-T3: 1. New X PRO Processor. A new, faster, one, or we could speculate the presence of 2 X Pro Processors, to cope with the new performance requirements; 2. New software, with improved AF and better noise reduction - what we see inside the X-H1; 3. New X-Trans sensor, as rumoured, with a resolution over 24 MP, but less than 30 MP. A 28 MP resolution could make sense, in order to get resolution improvements, but still not sacrificing low-light performance and not putting too much strain on the processor(s); 4. Some new aspects, like ETERNA, (plus the improved AF and noise reduction I was mentioning above) and maybe video improvements (that I don't find particularly necessary, especially when we have X-H1 for that and even the improved X-T2); 5. A better build body with more scratch resistant cover, better weather sealing and with a more resistant magnesium alloy chassis, as the X-H1 is over the X-T2; with 25% improved resistance. What I also would like to see is: A. A better battery, or battery life - as this is also a very important aspect and with increased performance, may also come an increased energy consumption. B. A larger viewfinder - at least at the eye exit level, with a better refresh rate for the electronic viewfinder. C. Some button reconfiguration - if necessary, or an extra Fn button, for better accessibility. I don't have a long list of requests, as I am happy with my X-Pro2, but I think I have covered important aspects that we could (and we would like to) see in the upcoming X-Pro3. I invite you to share with us your ideas and comments. May the Light be with you! Best regards, Sebastian
