Help! How to Remove Small Scratch from Rear LCD
jlmphotos replied to TopDownDriver's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
It's a type of polish. I use the "pink" formula on automobiles. Jewelers also use it to clean jewelry, and crowns. Google J Kolinsky. He makes my auto polish and he sells various grades of polish (not wax). One is fine as jewelers rush -
Help! How to Remove Small Scratch from Rear LCD
jlmphotos replied to TopDownDriver's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
I use CREST toothpaste on my Tag Heuer watches. WORKS AMAZINGLY well. I haven't tried it on a glass screen tho.... I'd test it on an old piece of glass. I've also used jewelers roush to deep polish automobile glass and that works amazingly well to. -
I love, love, love my 35 1.4 Those new 23, 35 and 50 F2 lenses may be faster focusing and (supposedly) sharper as told to us by all the paid shills on the inter webs, but I don't give a crap. I LOVE my 35 1.4. Won't part with it. The images are just phenomenal, clear, and oh so "zen like" Yeah. I said it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Oh: And those F2 lenses are BUTT UGLY. and yes that does make a difference to me.

Any reviews of the 16-55 (for 18-55 users)?
jlmphotos replied to FearTheXNoob's topic in Fuji X Lenses
There are many reviews on Youtube. I considered the 16-55 to replace my "don't leave home without it lens" the 18-55. Quite frankly, I just couldn't do it. The weight, and the lack of OIS plus the extra price tag to me was not worth it at all. Your mileage may vary but the size and weight for that sh*t I'd have kept my D800e and my bevy of Nikon lenses. This is also the reason I opted for the 55-200 instead of the monster 50-140. Size and weight. I don't know about others but my copy of the 18-55 is tack sharp, albeit a tad soft in the corners but I don't care. It generates a sh*t ton of money for me as it's my go-to, on the camera lens. And that's all that matters to me. It's paid for itself ten times over in stock and travel imagery. -
Whatever... It's your hard-earned money. But it's still not a mac. Sorry. PC's have their place in the ecosystem, but a Mac is far superior as far as I'm concerned for image processing/photogaphy in general.
-
Agreed. Off for panning. And with that having been said the only time I "remember" to turn off my OIS is when I put the camera on a tripod. So far, no ill effects.

Well for pseudo-macro I've used the 16mm 1.4 Very expensive, but it is one of Fuji's best lenses IMHO. Tack sharp 24mm equivalent, and it focuses so darn close you have to take the lens hood off! I also own the 60mm 2.4 and even though it's only a 1:2 reproduction rate it is so sharp it'll cut ya. Extremely lightweight, sharp, small. Fits anywhere - in a pocket, bag, etc. The 60 is quickly becoming one of my "don't leave home without it lens" next to the 18-55 and the 16 1.4 I also own a couple of Fotosay extension tubes I purchased on amazon. These were about 30 bucks, and before I got my 16 and the 60mm, I attached them to my 35 1.4 and that was truly wonderful. The extension tubes are a less expensive way to try your hand at macro first, and you can always use them with other lenses.

16mm 1.4, 35 1.4 and the 60 2.4 THE BEST and if I could only carry ONE zoom: the 18-55 hands down

There is an option on the wi-fi app either on the app, or the camera where a checkbox is most likely checked to only transfer 3mb jpeg files. Need to uncheck that box. I use the photo app on the phone, and LR mobile....

18-55 would be my choice (and it's also my don't leave home without lens). I've used it in rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain with no issues. If you are uncomfortable doing so, instead of spending 1100.00 on the 16-55 get yourself some zip lock bags (of which I carry several in my camera bags) and if it rains use them for some protection. Problem solved. And you are traveling lightweight -- without the boat anchor that is the 16-55.

I'm not aware of a way to delete them simultaneously. And, IMHO you shouldn't be deleting images on the camera anyway as that "could" cause data corruption on the card. Just my two cents.

Lightroom for x-trans... seriously?
jlmphotos replied to akphoto's topic in RAW Conversion Fuji X Photos
I process and submit quite a number of images to stock agencies. I have yet had one be rejected for the "watercolor" effect. Now I've had rejections due to my stupidity and/or negligence in not checking certain things in the frame, but never, ever due to that effect. So, even though I own Silkypix and Iridient, I use LR for 99.00% of my image processing. Honestly, it's not that big of a deal "when" it occurs (to me) and my way of shooting. -
looks like vignetting to me. Maybe it's the lens... Does this occur in daytime shots? Bad copy? EDIT: Looking at the wall image again I'd say it's a lens problem.

LOL. The kid is three months old!! How much can he be moving!??? LOL. Sorry. Been there done that with three grand kids aged 6, 3, and soon to be 1 year old! I know exactly what you are going through. I have the 1.4 primes -- 35, 16, and 23 and I will say they helped in capturing these kids, but the true difference was when I moved up to the X-T2 from the T1, and with the latest software::: WOW! Huuuuge and Bigly difference Now, your shooting mileage may vary, but I certainly love the images I'm now getting! Hope that helps.

Let's see...... I keep my camera and lenses on my desk in my office, easily accessible at all times around my iMac computer workstation. I was keeping it all in an Amazon Basics backpack but in all honesty I could never find an accessory. So, both the X-T1 and the 2 sit on my desk with body caps on as I never know which lens will strike my fancy, with all the lenses around the bodies. I label the original lens caps with the lens it belongs to. This only works often because when I know I'll be shooting outdoors, I remove the original lens caps, screw on 77mm step up rings for each lens that I'm taking, and then slap on a cheap, eBay 77mm lens cap. This way 77mm filters can be swapped amongst any of lenses except the 60mm Macro. Since I'm now back up to owning seven bags, I throw in some small silica gel packs - a couple into each bag. These silica gel packs you can by like one hundred for like $5.00 on Amazon. And you can re-use them by heating them up in an oven. The accessories such as remotes, filters, cleaning supplies, battery chargers, batteries and memory cards I keep in my Amazon basics backpack. When I shot Nikon gear, I kept all the bodies and lenses in a dry safe. That is an expensive piece of gear but it kept the equipment securely locked up, and kept the humidity out - which can cause fungus and other problems. I bought that from a Locksmith shop where the owner was retiring and I got a great deal on it. I disposed of it (stupid me) when I unloaded all my Nikon gear for the Fuji. I should have kept it to store my Fuji equipment as well.

A covert bag for traveling in cities
jlmphotos replied to ajurjans's topic in Bags, Half Cases & Straps for Fuji X
Here is one of the most nondescript, crappy looking bags I own. But it has So MUCH ROOM! My bag... It's available on amazon, as is the JILL-E insert I put in there. If you aren't carrying much in the way of gear, you don't need the insert. I love the six outside pockets! As a side note, I'm not trying to draw anyone over to my blog, I just find it easier to link. -
Well you can take me with you. I'll gladly be your Sherpa. However, if you won't, then 'd take all three and if I HAD to whittle it to two: The 18-55 and the 14. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
