Help with budget fuji x camera
johant replied to julianlopez_85's topic in Newbie / Self Introduction
Really? Would that make a real difference? I think that a separate shutter speed and aperture dial (plus an A setting on both) is far more intuitive? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
If you only had 3-4 fuji lenses what would they be?
johant replied to wben25's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Ah yes, I probably should have added that I use a X-Pro1 body most of the time. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -

New bokeh monsters or classic & cheap adapted glass?
johant replied to milandro's topic in Adapting lenses to Fuji X
If you are into that kind of OoF rendering, the Orestor 1.8/50 is a good lens. I sold my copy again because it was very soft below f/4. But the out of focus rendering is very creamy indeed. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
I think it's a trade-off between marketing and sales gain, and available development resources. Reading Flysurfer, it's questionable how much capacity Fujifilm currently have for updating the firmware for a niche model. If Fujifilm wants to stay a main player in the fixed lens premium camera market, then it may be worth the effort indeed. Otherwise, the energy is probably better spent elsewhere. I don't know Fujifilm's strategy, but I guess that their main investments go into lenses and X-Tx / X-Prox cameras development.

I always get a bit suspicious when someone claims that a product is "The Best!" The best for whom? Compared to what? On which criteria? Why discount that there likely is no "Best for everyone" product? What's the agenda? I believe that a product can be very good. I am struggling with believing that a product is "the best". That's a good reminder that the 18mm is a very capable lens. Very fine pictures indeed! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

X-E2 or X-Pro1?
johant replied to Marcin Petruszka's topic in Fuji X-E4 / Fuji X-E3 / Fuji X-E1 / Fuji X-E2 / Fuji X-E2s
I usually shoot outdoors "cityscapes" so the OVF is a definite plus for me. Other than that, the X-E2 form factor suits me fine. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
Xpro1 still worth buying? (06.15)
johant replied to drb's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
Crazy price for that camera! Enjoy it. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
It's been asked several times already. Fujifilm will have their reasons not to implement that feature. Your assumption that the Fujifilm developers don't go out into the "real world" is a bit over the top. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

VILTROX DG-FU Close-Up Rings Fuji X-Mount - Issue
johant replied to George_P's topic in Other Fuji X Accessories
That's why I bought the original ones. If there is an issue, I know who to contact for a resolution. Worth the extra Euros to me. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -

Indeed, Kleve is excellent. It sounds more like a Fujifilm USA issue to me than like a Fujifilm (as a global company) problem. When I, as an ordinary consumer, sent in my X-Pro1 for repair, I think my loaner camera was already delivered to me before my camera had reaches the service centre. Moreover, they were very responsive to emails and on the phone. That's good. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

FUJI X-PRO2 MENU PROBLEM

X-pro2 launch, keep or sell your x-pro1?
johant replied to drb's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
Functional updates already stopped a few months ago, I think. Unless Fujifilm is going to surprise us, but that's very unlikely. It's end of the road for the X-Pro1, but that's only a problem when you want something that the X-Pro1 cannot do now. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
But is this a Fujifilm problem, or a Fujifilm USA services attitude problem? It could be that Fujifilm Japan is not aware of the issue yet? I cannot imagine that they would find it acceptable. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I posted this one on the German forum already.
