  1. Nobody with an idea? Hard to imagine on this forum!
  2. I guess such subtleties don't come across well in written text, especially on a worldwide forum. Which Fuji camera(s) do you use? I don't think what you want can be done on the X-Pro1 or X-E1 at least.
  3. Well, I do think that he attracts more visitors by posting opiniated and sometimes controversial reviews on his site. He gets a lot more publicity this way than when he would only post balanced and factual stuff. And look above; if KR thinks your camera is great, then he is a cool guy. If your camera was reviewed badly, then he is a dinosaur. I bet he is fully aware of how his reviews are received, and judges that this style generates more income for him.
  4. On the X-Pro1, the same button is used in the AF modes for exposure lock (which I use quite often), and in MF mode for activating the autofocus. So that means I lose the AE-L functionality in MF mode. Of course I can use "manual everything" mode, which is what I do for MF mode. But is there any way to assign the AE-L to another button, or to activate the AF via another means (without having to switch the selector back to AF mode, or having to upgrade to another camera). Thanks!
  5. I could live with the 18mm and 35mm lenses only ... they are on my camera 90% of the time.
  6. Do you think he would make more money if his reviews were more nuanced?
  7. Why would KR's positive review of the X-T2 be better than his less positive review of the X-Pro2?
  8. That's 7 hours driving for me ... a bit too much really, but it already sounds like you're going to have a great time. Pray to the weather gods!
  9. The only thing where the X-Pro1 sometimes lacks for me is in the AF-speed. Those shots where suddenly something happens, and you want to capture it instantly. Otherwise, the X-Pro1 is a very fine camera for me. I love the handling and the output, and it does everything I want it to do.
  10. I am also a fan of your blog. And for my style of photography (and as an amateur), the X-Pro1 is still a very fine camera, when combined with the 18mm or 35mm lenses. I actually look forward to the future 23mm F/2 lens. The X-Pro2 may be a tempting camera, but not at the price it's sold for here.
  11. Meh ... my X-Pro1 still works fine. And frankly, the trend towards bulky mirrorless cameras goes straight against the reason why I switched from Canon to Fuji. If they introduce a X-E3, I might be interested (or not, because I like the OVF too much). But even the X-T1 is bigger than I want, so the X-T2 certainly is too much of a good thing.
  12. Why do you want to use Fuji? And what is important for you, that your current camera does not deliver? About the OVF ... I would not want to live without it.
  13. While the 50-230 is not a close focusing lens (without a macro ring), and is not a "Bokeh king", its quality keeps surprising me!
  14. I would say they did. It's at the same level as the X-E cameras.
  15. Everyone says that, and everyone talks about him.
  16. Put the 18-55 on 23mm for a while, and you can answer the question for yourself.
  17. But he drives a nicer car paid from his reviews than I can from my daytime job. The guy must obviously do something right Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  18. It's funny how people like KR when he talks favourable about their gear, and how they dislike him when he talks down their brand. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  19. I had an afternoon in London, and went with the X-Pro1 and 28mm. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  20. Use Exposureplot to find your most used focal lengths. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  21. I would be very happy with a lens the size of the 18mm. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
  22. It's not the camera .... I would not lightheartedly switch systems.
  23. Velvia is too rich for me as well. For black and white, I often just use the JPEGs, since the X-Pro1 film simulations do a very good job. For colour, I generally use the RAWs, and either Provia or one of the standard Silkypix V7 film colours.
