Doesn't look nice, or doesn't handle nice? If you want to save on the X-T1, keep an eye at the various outlets. That's how I managed to buy an X-T1 (demo, 24 months warranty, camera like new) for a bit less than €900 recently. That only works when you are not in a hurry to buy something, of course.

I love produce from our own garden.

Lovely colours! The background is a bit busy for me though. That 90mm lens must be fun!

Yes ... but if you mainly photograph stills, or slow moving subjects, would the new features of the X-T2 really make a difference? I don't think my photography would improve even a bit if I would upgrade to the X-T2.

Only you can look in your wallet. If you are new to Fujifilm, I don't think that the learning curve for the X-T2 would be steeper than for the X-T1. Do you think you need the X-T2's features?

At 16mm you will not get a massive background blur anyway. The 35/1.4 that Patrick suggests is a good one.

Those look fantastic!

Yes, I have the 35mm F/1.4 indeed. And I hope that the 23mm F/2 does not cover more viewfinder area. If I had wanted to use the EVF, with its limitations, I could just as well have used a X-E1. I think the OVF is brilliant, because it gives a view of the real world, and because it allows you to see beyond the frame. That it's not 100% accurate is a price I'm happy to pay for that.

But that is without the lens hood, right? The 18mm and 13mm primes do not obscure the frame at all without a lens hood, and only a small corner with the hood attached.

To Battery Grip or not to Battery Grip
johant replied to jfoxshoots's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
I'm afraid it's going to be very bulky with the grip. But then, I'm not ordering the X-T2 anytime soon anyway ... I must say that I was thrilled with the form factor of the X-Pro1 and the original primes. So I am probably not the X-T2 target audience anyway. -
I can add the 27mm f2.8 - very sharp from edge to edge when stopped down a bit, very neutral colours, almost clinical rendering.

As I already said on the German "sister forum"; I had hoped that it would not be (much) larger than the 18mm F2, but it looks like I'm going to be disappointed ... I'll have a look when it's really available in the shops.

I've tried several 50ish lenses on my Fujifilm cameras (and previously, on my Canon) ... my personal best overall adapted lens is the Pentax SMC Takumar 1.8/55mm ... maybe not the most "atmospheric", but very nice micro contrast, and I love how it draws the light. Here's an example from today, shot at f/4 on my Fujifilm X-T1 (using a Kiwi adapter):

I think the refurb prices are only relevant in markets with a Fujifilm refurb shop? In other markets, I would take the local Craigslist / marketplace prices as a basis.

Most people go to Zeeland for the beach, or for recreating on the water ... we went to Zeeland, for a few hours, to enjoy the inner city of Goes.

Hortus Botanicus Leiden with the Samyang 12mm
johant replied to johant's topic in Landscape & Travel
A bit of cropping, to be fair, but I was surprised indeed in how close I could get. This was a situation where the huge DoF of a wide angle actually helped.- 2 replies

Welcome, and have fun!

I took my Samyang 12mm with me today, as a challenge. Since I usually have the Fujinon 18mm or 35mm lenses on my camera, the 12mm is something completely different. It's fun for now and then, but I would not want to use such a wide angle as my primary lens.
