Yeah, and lenses are full of marketing lingo ... I'm in favour of the encyclopaedia and dictionary makers How about next week? I have vacation then Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Lens makers want to sell lenses. Dictionary makers want to write down precise definitions. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Raw File Converter 2.0 (PC) VS in camera Raw Conversion
johant replied to Royal's topic in RAW conversion Fuji X-Trans Sensor
I prefer the results from the external RAW converter to the internal RAW engine in the camera. More control, and more details. I think the film simulations in RFC are very good. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
X-Pro1 with the 27mm is a handy travel camera. View from Hilton Copenhagen airport, where I have a stop over ... traveling to Sweden tomorrow early morning.

Good that you found what works for you! Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

If you don't know yet, I would go for the 35mm. It is a very useful focal length, and not as specialised as the 90mm. I would go for the extra stop of light, and the optically corrected lens, but I'm sure the f/2 will suit you well too. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Why? And there is no "best lens" in my opinion ... the thread title is a bit misleading. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Xpro1 still worth buying? (06.15)
johant replied to drb's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
I took advantage of the same deal when it was introduced. The leather case is not great, in my opinion (why no flap for the battery compartment?). But I still use the 18mm and 27mm on my X-Pro1 very regularly. Since then I also bought a 35mm f/1.4 which I love as well. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -

I don't like the Fuji front cap anyway. I use a generic 39mm cap from EBay. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

FStops on the Cropped Sensors Not Accurate?
johant replied to johnortt's topic in General Discussion
Maybe, but I surely would have gotten weird looks in the shop if I had ordered "full frame film". Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -
That would be great!

That sums it up rather nicely.

Being nice costs nothing, in my opinion. So the best thing is probably actual facts without a big ego. Many people won't read the facts if they are not presented with some respect for the reader. All my opinion, of course.

I think the point is more that many people like politeness, and are put off by the rude way the OP states his points. There are many discussions here about strenghts and weaknesses of the Fuji X-series (e.g. the slow AF, or the soft corners of the 18mm lens), but "c'est le ton qui fait la musique" ... and the OP clearly struck the wrong chords, in my opinion.

Fuji does the beach ...

Agreed ... but actually I am quite a bit frustrated with the direction the industry is going ... 16MP RAW files are already insanely big, and now we all have to go to 24MP? For many people (including me), 12MP would provide more than enough resolution, and would put an end to the crazy MP-race. All I care about is low noise and high dynamic range.
