  1. Which you can run out and buy right this minute, and you won't be disappointed at all. I love mine. The point I'm trying to make (in fact everyone) is that the target market for this lens will never approach the 2.0 limit. It's the same target market as the 16-55 ƒ2.8, a target you are obviously not in since you see no need for this lens.
  2. None of which offer the 50mm focal length. The target market for this lens is perfect. It will sell. I'll be getting one for sure as my 35 ƒ1.4 rarely if ever leaves my camera body, and when it does I always miss it.
  3. If they make WR version, they should make it at 33, which I believe they are working on already. What cheap zooms have they remade? Other than the 56, I know of no other lenses that are the same focal lengths.
  4. Because the 35 they have out now is 1.4???
  5. Is it that it doesn't work, or that the frame lines don't line up like every other rangefinder camera?
  6. Seeing as how I spend most of my time walking around the streets and shooting I'd go 16, 35, 56; but you can't rightly do that now can you? I'm curious as to why you had a wish list for lenses, if you didn't want any more lenses...What's all this need for everyone pairing down their kits? I don't get it.
  7. The more I think about it, the more I feel as though I have twisted this up a bit. I'll be happy to have someone who understands this better jump in this discussion and set my confusion straight as well.
  8. The way I've always understood it, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, you need three factors to determine your DOF... Aperture, Focal Length, and distance to focal plane. Having not known what CoC was until I googled it, I'm assuming that helps the app determine that distance to more accurately calculate your DOF/Hyperfocal Distance. Again, if I'm wrong please correct me so I don't continue thinking about it this way.
  9. I have mine set to auto ISO and it shows up when I press the shutter button to lock focus.
  10. I've never seen one like that. Lens Flipper is taking votes and Fuji is currently running at over 50 percent of the votes of the next mount they do. http://lensflipper.com I've seen the Flipper in action and it's pretty cool. They make a clip so you can mount it to backpack strap or something also. Peak Design just released a lens mount that utilizes their Capture plate, but they opted for Canon, Nikon and Sony (leaving out the X-Mount).
  11. The point is dude...Where does it end. If they gave you your very own special setting so that you could do a two hour exposure a few times a year, there'd be something else to complain about after that. All through out this forum are members complaining and pining over features they think Fuji should implement in their next design... You've got the members who swear IBIS will make the whole system better. Those that won't even consider buying the next model unless it's at least 24 mega pixels. Those that want special firmware updates for their special exposures. Those that want to be able to alter ever single aspect of the EVF, just in case there happens to be a black curtain somewhere in the room. Those that want a portable clean room for changing lenses. Those that want Fuji to implement 4k video for that wedding they might have potentially gotten last season if they also did video as well. Those that want every lens that has been made since the 90 to be remade with better engines, oh and we want it fast, but we also want it pancake because once we have IBIS, 24 mega pixel sensors and 4k our bodies are going to be freaking huge all over again. Oh yeah and while we're doing all this Fuji, do something about the piss poor battery life so I don't have to carry around 3 batteries while I shoot my video, try to hand hold seconds long exposures because I don't want to have to buy a tripod, and damn, the processor needs be faster because I can't raddle off 30 frames a freaking second. We also need in camera copy right because I forgot to set that up when I import in LR. I also need better high ISO jpeg performance because it's too hard to change my camera profile when I import in LR (yes I know it's just one drop down menu, but for crying out loud it's way at the bottom of the develop module). It's not defensive, it's being tired of all the whining. And yes...I'm exaggerating with all the above. In all honesty, the X-T1 is pretty freaking close to perfect. If they'd just continue to make good glass, increase the processing power and implement better exposure bracketing in the X-T2 it'd be a worthy upgrade. Not attaching anyone personally, just venting. It's not about you (whoever is reading this)...I promise.
  12. When did we get so lazy? Damn. I remember when you had to hold in a button on the end of a long braided metal cord and have a stop watch or count it off. All of this complaining is getting to the point of utter ridiculousness. Next you'll want a pop out tripod on the bottom of the camera, or an attached remote to the body that you can simply always have with you. Then you'll aways be prepared to be a lazy photographer. Seriously is it too hard to hold a button down? I've never taken a 2 hour long exposure using a constant wifi connection, so I couldn't say, but I can certainly see how this would create a whole slew of issues. You can go experiment now, there have been multiple posts of remote releases that will work. That all of us are using to "experiment" with now. Sorry you bought the wrong triggers and now it's Fuji's fault that you can't do longer than 30 second exposures. Hell I just bought one from B&H for 8 damn dollars? You have a thousand dollars in camera equipment and 8 bucks is too much to spend on a damn trigger? It even comes with a lock so I won't have to hold it down for 2 hours. That's just ludicrous. Fuji...Please don't clutter our cameras with a bunch of crap...please...
  13. Remotes are cheap and if you're that worried about not being prepared to take a long exposure, how the hell do you intend to keep the camera steady? I think some of their point and shoots have touch screen focus points. That's what those are for. You can't use the app for bulb exposure because you can't rely on the wifi connection. How many exposures have you done since owning any camera that are longer than 30 seconds anyway? Got examples of this work you do so much of?
  14. Those are gorgeous photos Fletch. You did an amazing job. Hope that it boosted your confidence in the X-T1's abilities. Good news is that Fuji is actively (aggressively) pursuing a solid flash system for the X-Series. The Fuji Girls wouldn't reveal what company they were working with, but they said it was a major flash manufacturer, and that they were close to something with Metz but that company is gone now so...They are saying it won't be long before they have a flash solution.
  15. Turn around less than a week isn't going to happen. That's why Fuji started the whole Professional support program like Canon and Nikon have. Guys need to give them a chance to iron out all the kinks in their professional support program. People are so quick to jump and dump a company because they don't get it completely perfect straight out of the gate.
  16. If they are aware of the problem I don't see why you have reason to believe they won't try and fix the issue. Companies don't stay in business for as long as Fuji has by ignoring Quality Control issues. As these things come in for service they will narrow down the issue and fix the problem.
  17. I would like to see photos of this stuff.. Any chance this is an environmental issue or like Antony said, something the users are letting these cameras come in contact with? Extreme heat. I'll spend 6+ hours walking the streets with my camera constantly in my hand in 100+ degree heat and I haven't experienced any deterioration of the body materials at all.
  18. Really only need solution 2. If you could change the color of the grid, you wouldn't need a frame line. I would personally hope they don't add anything else to the EVF. I think it's perfect the way it is. Just a rotation of your aperture ring will show you were your histogram looses information. I've never experienced this problem because it's quite easy to tell when you're blowing your highlights or crushing your blacks even if you can't see the edge of your histogram. If they change the histogram at all I'd have it remain in place when you half press your shutter. That's the one thing that bugs me about the histogram.
  19. I've tried embedding it, but I can't get it to work. Dorothea Lange, Grab a Hunk of Lightning. Amazing Documentary... http://www.pbs.org/wnet/americanmasters/episodes/dorothea-lange/watch-full-film-dorothea-lange-grab-a-hunk-of-lightning/3260/
  20. I like the hybrid view finder, but I'm really leaning more toward the 100s myself. I like the viewfinder better myself. If you don't like the rangefinder, I don't see why you think you would like the X100 series or the X-Pro...
  21. I for one would welcome your input and support Paul. As I'm sure anyone on the forum would. For that matter, I welcome any and all input or support on any image I post. Sometimes it takes another eye to show us what we can't ourselves see. And sometimes just a little thing can make a photographer see entirely differently.
  22. What was the shutter speed?
