Never just one camera, IMO.

Some pictures with the X-Pro1 and the 35/1.4 (BW+Y film simulation)

Nice review, and a nice story on how you get used to a focal length.

Jonas Rask's review of the Mitakon 35mmF0.95
johant replied to PascallacsaP's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Another reason may be that they would not want to introduce a lens without a focus motor. And like Jonas already says, a focus motor would add substantially to the size and cost of the lens. His pictures are very nice indeed, but tell me more about the photographer than about the lens -
anyone upgraded from an X-T1 to an X-T20?
johant replied to 1thumb4fingers's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
Personally I would not upgrade from a X-T1 to a X-T20 because of ergonomics. I would rather wait to see if there's a successor to the X-E2s in the pipeline. I would miss the larger EVF of the X-T1, and each time I handled a X-T10 it felt uncomfortably cramped in my hands. I don't have that issue with the X-E line. Edit: I do not plan to upgrade my X-T1 at all, but if I did, it would not be to a X-T20. I would replace it by a X-Pro2 or X-E3. -
Well sorry, you picked the wrong battle. Kevin Mullins complains about the same issue. Is he also a troll?

Why Fuji? Why?
johant replied to rollypolly's topic in Fuji X100VI / X100 / X100S / X100T / X100F / X100V / Fuji X70
I saw that Kevin Mullins also mentioned this issue in a blog post. His assumption is that Fujifilm can (and will) fix this in a firmware update. -
Disagree, the TS stated clearly *what* his issue was, and *why* it was an issue for him. And in fact this issue *is* more than a "Fujifilm quirk", I would say. Especially because it worked correctly in the older models, and is a need when relying on the combination of MF and the OVF.
-
The way you did it? Yes, in my opinion. I do not think that calling out "oh no! the camera is unusable!" adds much to the discussion when the TS raises a valid concern (the X100F not retaining the focus distance when the camera is switched off and on in MF mode), and it was not very useful either in the other discussion where you stated the same.

I agree with that .... but why are you trolling in various topics then? At least, that is how your posts read to me.

Why Fuji? Why?

The OP has a valid point. It's really surprising that Fujifilm broke such a fundamental (in my opinion) feature on the X100F ... maybe not unusuable (like you said) but certainly very awkward. -

It would be for me indeed. This works correctly on the S and T versions, by the way. -
Camera Remote App connection issues w/ X-T1

Still on Android 6 here; no issues with the app on my mobile or tablet. -
X-pro 2 - I don't get it!
johant replied to petergabriel's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
I should have spent my money on glass instead of on a X-T1. With that learning experience, I certainly won't put money in a X-T2. The only thing I mildly enjoy in the X-T1 is the bigger EVF. But I hate that I cannot switch it to an OVF when I want to. The whole crap of tilt screen, video and faster AF is wasted on me. I don't like the centrally placed viewfinder as well, now that I have enjoyed the edge viewfinder (again) for a while. No, I am not disappointed in the camera's capabilities; it is good. But I should have researched better on beforehand what I really want. Between a X-Pro2 and X-T2 it's easy ... definitely X-Pro2 for me. But the reality is that my X-Pro1 is still pretty capable. And I don't care for the bigger file sizes (more computer power needed) of the 24MP cameras. -
It's clearly spring - Fujifilm X100T

Instax Square SQ and Instax Square SQ10 Rumors
johant replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X Rumors & News
From when I was a kid (1970's) I can still remember that I was amazed by the "magic" of instant cameras. I think that even in this digital age, instant cameras are a great introduction into photography. -
It's probably because this forum is very much focused on (missing) camera features, being associated with a rumor site. There are other forums where the mood is a lot lighter, and where there are also more photos shown (TBH I mainly display them elsewhere too). I think for this forum to be less "ranting", it should break the association with said rumor site, and maybe become moderated in a different way.

That looks interesting (not going to spend money on it myself, but I can certainly see it being attractive). -
I really like this one!

X-T2 AutoFocus very erratic on fine structures (trees)

Use the tools in the proper way, I'd say. Anyway, I'm out of this thread, no worries -

Probably more "architecture" than "street" photography, but I don't believe we have an "architecture" open topic?
