I think I could live with three lenses; a good wide angle, the 27mm as a normal lens, and a macro / portrait lens. However, I wouldn't want to give up the 35/1.4 even if I do not use that lens very much.

That actually was used as an argument against moped helmets in the 1970's

I had, but then with cola. Ouch! OTOH, I have walked outside in a drizzle with my X-E1 several times, and it does not seem to have affected the camera so far.

X100F aperture
johant replied to labenge's topic in Fuji X100VI / X100 / X100S / X100T / X100F / X100V / Fuji X70
True ... so that's a reason not to respond on statements made about non-Fuji devices? (in this case related to code footprint sizes) -
X100F aperture
johant replied to labenge's topic in Fuji X100VI / X100 / X100S / X100T / X100F / X100V / Fuji X70
That's not necessarily true for medical devices. I know for a fact that some highly critical medical devices have a surprisingly small code footprint. Well, I know it for the products from one manufacturer, but I have no reason to believe that other manufacturers will be different. -
GFX & f2 lenses spell the end for high end, x lenses

For me, it doesn't make sense to buy a small camera, and then put a large cannon in front of it. I would be perfectly happy with Fujifilm focusing the X-series cameras on city and street photography. -

These photos make me think about a discussion we had last week, while I was in Scandinavia together with a guy from Pakistan, about the difference between "real hockey" and "ice hockey" [emoji6]

Hear hear! It is easy to disable this in Tapatalk.

Thanks for elaborating ... I thought that mentioning the thumb wheel would be clear enough, but probably not to someone new to cameras. I like to configure it on the front wheel though.
-
There's only confusion because people keep referring to 135 film equivalent as "full frame". Ironically that was small format film when introduced ... Your lenses don't change. But your actual field of view changes with the sensor format. It's like cropping a larger picture; it is still taken with the same lens, but you get a smaller field of view.

Set your shutter speed to a fixed value, and set the aperture value to "A" (using the thumb wheel). Check what happens.

But trees and houses don't run that fast [emoji6] Looking back, the X-Pro1 with the latest firmware updates does everything I need. OTOH, I have determined it's not really worth selling my X-T1; after all it is a very usable camera, which is especially good with manual focus lenses or for close-up photography.
-
Good that you like it! I'm still ambivalent about mine; obviously it is way more advanced than the X-Pro1. But for me it's not way more fun. If I knew what I know now, I am not sure if I would have bought the X-T1. Even with the €300 discount the camera was not exactly free. And I keep picking up my X-Pro1, because of the excellent OVF, and the feel in my hands.

Well, what do you think?

Do we tolerate the bodies because of the lens qualities?

Going to pick up my X-T1 coming Saturday again ... hopefully 100% functional [emoji4] Edit: looks like everything is good. Interestingly this is my second camera where Fujifilm replaced the electronics. Seems that is the Achilles heel of modern cameras. -
The difference between f1.4 and f1 is one stop only.

Since they have the 100-400 now, and are already working on the GFX, a third experiment might be too much?
-
I don't think so. Huge development costs, tiny market.

What is your X-E3 wish list?
johant replied to bhu's topic in Fuji X-E4 / Fuji X-E3 / Fuji X-E1 / Fuji X-E2 / Fuji X-E2s
IBIS is utopia (when you stay with Fujifilm) I'd like it, for the use with 3rd party lenses, but it's not a deal breaker for me. -
Cool! I have an "Arai head" as well. But next one might be a Schubert nevertheless.

You overexposed. The histogram would have indicated that as well. Spot metering plus three stops gives me an indication usually.
