  1. Yes 23mm with a priority on small size would be an instant impulse purchase for me. I just wonder if their reticence is deliberate so as not to cut into x100 sales.
  2. As others say, whilst it's not the greatest lens in the lineup, the lineup is pretty formidable and it's still a great lens. Maybe post a sample shot with exif intact?
  3. http://www.fujirumors.com/rumor-xf-35mmf2-wr-will-cost-less-than-the-current-xf35mmf1-4-srp/
  4. I think you'll find most bought it because it was cheap and future proof.
  5. So many assumptions are making this discussion pointless currently.
  6. I just put my x-e2 on manual focus and just press the AF-L button to focus.
  7. You can set OIS to 'shooting only' so it's only active when the shutter button is half pressed if you want.
  8. The 50-140 is the best lens I have ever used. It is significantly larger than anything else in the fuji range and I suggest that if you can possibly try it in a local store then please do so as it is fairly unique in the range for size and weight. It is, however, sensationally good.
  9. I guess it would be nice if they did a WR version of everything, but I'd imagine getting the imminent new flagship rangefinder x-pro2 a normal prime at launch is a higher priority for obvious reasons.
  10. As someone said earlier, he's just out to sell you the product on the page you landed on from Google. He'll do it by rubbishing something cheaper or significantly more expensive, then ask you to buy using his affiliate links.
  11. Sounds like a timezone issue.
  12. What would be the point of that
  13. Mine are 8mm fisheye, 18mm f/2 and 27mm f/2.8. I think it's a reaction to not having any wide primes to choose from in the nikon dx world but now I can't get enough of them.
  14. Scuffed up old cameras look cool though.
  15. Seems like the two lens kit is difficult to get hold of here but some of the importers have it. Might even give the camera to my wife.
  16. ~40mm equiv. is the actual 'normal'. http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/why-40mm.html
  17. I'm tempted to add one of these to my bag to have a lightweight long lens but I wonder how to determine if the one I'm buying is a version I or II, allegedly the OIS is moderately improved in the II so obviously I'd prefer that given the choice.
  18. Digitalrev lists a pre-order for a version II of the 50-230, is there any info on the differences?
  19. he always seems to have pretty good product shots, and fairly accurate technical specs, that's about all I've really used his site for.
  20. I would suggest getting gear insurance, I use Glover & Howe, there are other good alternatives too.
  21. I've never really understood why any XF ILC owners buy an X100* over one of the X-E/A/M series. I guess you've got to really want a compact 35mm equivalent? I wonder if we'll never see a 23mm pancake in order to protect X100 sales?
