  1. It's supposed to refocus if you press it. Your camera will not refocus automatically if set in manual though.
  2. This is great news. It seems we are getting some real definition now between the models. I always assumed that the T series would be adding better video capabilities once we saw the specs on the Pro2. We can clearly see what Fuji is wanting to do now, and this helps the consumer decide which models best suit their needs. I can tell by reading this, that the Pro2 will most likely be in my future as video means very little to me. This is a great move by Fuji in my opinion.
  3. I try to stick with SanDisk or Lexar Professional for my cards (any of the top tier cards by these two is what I try for). They've never failed me yet.
  4. I shop at B&H, yes. Just bought some stuff from there actually, but my camera and lenses I buy from a couple of local stores. Arlington Camera, or Fort Worth Camera.
  5. Never had it on either of my Macs. Both with Yosimite, both browsing with Safari.
  6. That's a shame. I just tried to find out how to rent in Europe, which I'd think would be easy, but I can't find anything. Of course Google can see I'm in Texas so even though I'm looking for something, it's trying to steer me toward US companies. Is Fuji's rental program up and running yet? I'd assume it'll be worldwide...Maybe... However, I'm having just as much trouble trying to figure out how you sell something you won't let people even touch.
  7. I had thought it did, but I was wrong. I shoot Raw+Fine and in LR I set my profile when I process. The Classic Chrome is available on any shots taken with the XT-1, but not the Pro1. I got them reversed. Sorry.
  8. You could always try a rental service then. Not sure what country you are in, but there has to be some sort of rental service around there. That would give you at least a few days with the cameras too. An even better opportunity to get to know the items you might be buying.
  9. Honestly, for me, it's all about the OVF. Most of my film cameras are compact rangefinders and I love to shoot them, they are just fun to shoot. I also love the Classic Chrome profile too. I love how the camera can be configured (all three screens can be customized). The size. The way it handles. For me, its just a joy to use.
  10. The X70 or the GRII? Have you considered either of these? It is between these that I'm wrestling right now. One or the other will eventually be mine though.
  11. I have both and enjoy shooting the Pro1 more. Just a personal thing though. The only thing that bugs me about the Pro1 is the lack of a ISO dial and the processor. It is slow...
  12. Millandro speaks wisely, however I would take what Milandro says and just take one step further. If you enjoy shooting the Pro, wait for the Pro2, if you like the X-T, I see no reason to wait on the T2 (but we don't know what the T2 will be yet either). From what I've heard of the Pro2, it's a vast improvement over the Pro1, but not so much over the T1. The processing power alone on the Pro2 is worth the upgrade in my opinion. The Pro1 was the second X-Series camera produced so it desperately needed this upgrade. Just my opinion.
  13. Go to a store and play the X-Pro and X-T. Only you know which one you'll enjoy shooting the most. I know there is so much more to the Pro then the OVF, but that is what I love most about my Pro1. It's why I reach for it more and more over the XT-1.
  14. I wouldn't shoot in program mode. If your lighting conditions may change, then I'd set it to auto ISO and leave your shutter speed and aperture where you are most comfortable, just set to 4.0 or 5.6 and then you don't have to worry about it changing if you widen up. You may have to change it a couple of times, but for the most part you'll never have to touch your shutter speed or aperture, especially if you giver yourself a wide enough ISO range, say 200-1600 or so. Be sure to set your white balance for the lighting and not leave it on auto since you know the lighting source won't change. I'd set the camera to focus tracking, with the largest box and set to CL or CH, which ever you are comfortable with, but I wouldn't rattle off like crazy. I'd also set to evaluative metering. Just my suggestion. There may be better ones out there, but I certainly wouldn't give the camera too much control. It's not as smart as you are and doesn't know what you want to do or what you're shooting. Does TTL work with the Nissan? I didn't think it did. If it doesn't it just simple math to get your flash settings once dial in your settings the first time.
  15. Excellent term. Some spend way too much time/effort critiquing all the wrong aspects of an image.
  16. I will pre-order this the day it is announced. I really hope Fuji makes it.
  17. I don't think I've ever changed the focus point. I just focus and recompose. Been doing it ever since I started photography. I really don't understand why people move the point around, when it is so easy to just recompose. If I need to change the way my camera focuses, I change my mode, but I always have the point as small as possible and dead center.
  18. The 18 is a popular choice for the Pro1 as well. It'll be my next lens most likely.
  19. I always have mine set to Eye Sensor, but rarely access menus. I'll only access menus to change my focus modes, or drive, or ISO on the Pro1 (but I've made that a function button so I do it in OVF now)...
  20. It would be 300 equivalent, and 600 with the 2x...
  21. Can't figure out how to imbed the video...Sorry... https://vimeo.com/153364907 There is one image shot at ISO 51200 that looks phenomenal in my opinion...
  22. I do understand what you're saying. It doesn't seem very efficient, both battery wise and workflow wise, to have the OVF switch to EVF when you hit the menu button while in EVF/OVF Mode. Just seems like it's a couple lines of code to me really (however I'm not a coder) so I don't really understand why they removed it. It almost seems as though folks would have had to complain about this with the X100s for it to be changed going forward. I typically have my camera on a strap when I'm not shooting so my chest or side trips the sensor preventing the LCD from turning on. If I'm in a spot where I'm trying to be inconspicuous I will sometimes hold my thumb over the sensor too when I have my camera on a wrist strap. Many times I do this to conserve battery life though too. I do however use the LCD quite a bit for checking settings, and the like when the lighting changes though..
  23. Oh I see. Guess I never realized it because I always have my camera set to Eye Sensor. I did try and navigate the menu once in the EVF, but it was quite silly. I do like how the Pro1 can be configured so that all three give you different information while shooting. Anytime I'm hitting the menu button though I'm already pulling my face away from the camera to see the LCD. I just played with both Pro1 and XT-1 and the XT-1 will not display the menu on the LCD when on EVF only, but the Pro1 will display the menu on the LCD when on OVF/EVF only. That's pretty cool actually. When I got my Pro1 I just set it up as close to my XT-1 as I could and kept it on Eye Sensor. Is there any reason why you all don't prefer to work in Eye Sensor Mode?
