  1. So let me try and understand the issue... If you have your camera set to EVF Only, the LCD doesn't work? Isn't this how it's supposed to work? Or is it supposed to work only when you push the Menu Button and you're in EVF Only Mode? I've never shot a Canon, or Nikon, Mirrorless; but are you all saying that they will display the Menu on the LCD even when in EVF only mode? It would be kind of cool if while in Auto ISO, you could push the function button and change your ISO to a manual setting like you can on Pro1. This would be cool for both Pro2 and XT-1/2...
  2. They should be offering you a rental while you are waiting for your service to be complete...At least that's my understanding. A week to ten days in some of the cases is expedited service in Fuji's infancy in the pro service arena. As they open more and more service centers, I expect this time to reduce, but that will take time...Still a week is a long time, but when you have a tool in your hands that works, a week isn't so bad; if you have to go with out, that's a totally different story...
  3. If they want to be true players in the professional market, then they will have to make something as good as what Nikon and Canon have. Supposedly they already have, but I have yet to find any information on it. How much it costs, what phone numbers to call, etc...Next time I bump in to my local reps, this is at the top of my list to talk to them about...
  4. Are you sure you are talking with their Pro Service Department? Many folks have complained about their repair service only to realize that you get a totally different reaction when you talk to their Pro Service Department. Fuji really needs to clean this area of their business up though. Granted they are new at servicing the needs of the professional and will in time get it ironed out. http://petapixel.com/2014/12/09/fujifilm-will-reportedly-launch-professional-services-us-next-year/ Supposedly this has been launched, but Fuji really needs to get the word out on this and even make it a paid service if need be to service the professionals in the industry.
  5. After looking at these, I went and found one. How accurate is the zone focusing on it? I'm thinking of slapping it on my Pro1 and just zone focusing with it...
  6. The 33 ƒ1.0 (this will hopefully wrap up the 50mm focal for Fuji, unless they refresh the 1.4 a little later), and a 23 ƒ2...
  7. Like darknj said, it's all in the handling. I love the Pro1. I love relying on the histogram to get a good idea of my exposure and still being able to see what's entering the frame. I don't think I've ever used the EVF on my Pro1, but it's a very early version so it's falls far flat of what the EVF in the XT-1 is capable of. From what the specs seem to indicate the new Hybrid Viewfinder on the Pro2 will work a lot like it does on the 100T. The way that one works is really awesome, so if you can't get your hands on a Pro2 yet, play with the 100T and see if you like the way the Hybrid works... I use both bodies though when I'm out shooting. The XT-1 with a 14 and the Pro1 with the 35. The only thing about the Pro1 that I hate is that you have to go into the menu to change your ISO, something that Fuji fixed on the Pro2, and just one of the reasons I'm dying to get my hands on one. Personally, if you don't like using the OVF, I don't know why anyone would want the Pro series. Sure you have the ability to switch back and forth, but you see a lot of folks have the Pro and never switch off the EVF. I don't get that.
  8. I just use #6 stainless steel split rings. They are small, and strong, and work flawlessly for my Peak Design straps.
  9. The XT-1's and the Pro1 have withstood many tests, as have many of the mirrorless cameras. Posting because this guy exposes the XT-1's and the Pro1 to some of the harshest conditions out there, and hasn't had one complaint. In fact, he says he's only cleaned his sensor a couple of times in a year, and never done a wet cleaning. https://andybushphotography.wordpress.com/2015/08/17/the-age-old-dilemma-of-what-to-take/
  10. I figure Leica and Hasselblad will always be low volume high margin. Very few companies can get away with that, but if any camera companies can I'd put my money on those two to be able to do it.
  11. I'm suspecting the XT-1 will get at least one more FW upgrade before the release of it's successor, and I'm suspecting it'll be an upgrade that allows the XT-1 to take full advantage of this new flash...
  12. Looks piece exactly like the EP-75 from Match Technical, with an added soft release.
  13. Excellent Kevin Mullins review of the X-Pro2. http://f16.click/gear/fujifilm-x-pro2-review.html
  14. I really want the XPro2 even more now. Thanks for that olli. Notice how Kevin Mullins adjusts the ISO (about 2:00 in)? Fuji may have a truly remarkable camera on their hands with the Pro2...
  15. Don't think I'll ever sell my Pro1, but the Pro2 looked really good last night while he was going over the features. I definitely want one, but when is the real question...
  16. Yes they do. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=diopter+lenses+for+X-Pro1&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ma&Top+Nav-Search= The Nikon and Voigtlander lenses work as well. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_fb_0_16?url=search-alias%3Delectronics&field-keywords=fujifilm+diopter&sprefix=fujifilm+diopter%2Cphoto%2C142
  17. You can buy the diopters like everyone else that needs the adjustment does.
  18. Congratulations. I think you've got a great kit there, and I hope you will be very happy with it.
  19. I think that's what Cug's point is...If you fret over missed shots, then you'll always be fretting over missed shots. You can't take every lens in Fuji's arsenal on every trip you take; and if you don't, you will inevitably miss shots. As for me, I'm more in the Milandro camp. I prefer to have a wide and then a standard option at least. However with the X100's you can with the converter.
  20. I liked the video. Thought they captured the feel of what the X-Pro series represents to photographers.
  21. The 35 ƒ2 is faster to focus, sharper, smaller, lighter and newer. I have not heard that about the ƒ2. The ƒ2 will serve you well. In street photography, you don't need that extra stop of light. Personally I will eventually have both in my collection, but I have other focal lengths I need first...
  22. I like those kinds of weddings. And there is a market for couples that don't want the 45 minutes of group portraits. See Kevin Mullins and Paul Rodgers. I don't think they even offer the portrait sessions in their wedding packages. Good photos. Congratulations...
  23. If it were me in this situation, I'd buy the 18 and get the 35 ƒ2. Both of these will be great and you'll have a wide option for doing some landscape stuff (although not wide enough for my tastes), and the 35 for street work. Remember a lot of the early photographers were shooting film at night, with 50mm lenses. You have way more latitude with the XT-1. You'll need to be at 5.6 minimum for street anyway and landscape is going to need to be stopped down even more so you don't need a real fast 1.4 lens in my opinion. When the Pro1 first came out, the 18 and 35 were real popular to buy with the body (I think the 18, 35 and 60 were all there was to choose from). It's a group many still use and love 3 years later. In my opinion it's a great kit for you to start with. That's just me though...
