  1. Doesn't seem to be much interest, but I've whittled the night down to just 23 images. I hope I told a full and complete story of the night as I saw it unfold. I tried to. When shots are ringing out from all around you, it's hard to know just where to point your camera; so out of all the images I captured, I felt that these 23 told the most complete story. From the first moments I arrived at 6pm in Belo Garden, to the last image I took before leaving the perimeter to try and make my way home. I'll include a couple, but not all 23 for the purposes of posting here. This thread is for everyone to post into. Here's the link to the flickr album... https://flic.kr/s/aHskzFo7Sn A father and son, myself and another photographer take cover against a gated entry to a parking garage as gunshots are fired at officers nearby. Black Lives Matter_March_ 07-16-064 by Clint Ausmus, on Flickr I've posted this before, I'm posting again because the picture above is what I see when I look forward, after taking that image, I turn to my right, and this is what I see. These two images are captured as shots are being fired. The police have yet to triangulate the position of the shooter. Black Lives Matter_March_ 07-16-065 by Clint Ausmus, on Flickr An Officer directs myself, some civilians and another photographer deeper into the garage out of the line of fire of the shooter. Black Lives Matter_March_ 07-16-067 by Clint Ausmus, on Flickr The full album is available on my flickr feed. I'm still trying to process what happened that night, and am not sure I fully grasp just how close to the shooter I really was. I welcome any and all feedback.
  2. I forgot to mention, mods feel free to move if you feel this thread doesn't appropriately fit this area of the forum. Sorry.
  3. We didn't have a topic for this, and I hope it fits alright in the Street Photography Section, but I wanted to post some images from the Dallas Shooting that I captured last night. Still working on how exactly you curate your Instagram feed so, so far I've only posted 9 images from last night, I'll update my flickr feed later tonight when I get home, because with public transportation at a stand still I had to rely on a good natured friend to help pull me out of the perimeter the police had set up, and I didn't get home until 1, asleep around 4, and I'm about dead tired now. I'm including one image that I think captured the chaos of the moment the shots rang out, and including a link to instagram feed. I'll update my flickr later, like I said, but my initial cull is at 78 images and I feel the story can be told in far less than that so I need another cull for a full flickr album. CC is welcome. Hard to know exactly where to point your camera when gun shots are coming from both directions. All images where captured with either the X-Pro1 with the 35 ƒ1.4 or the XT1 with either the 14 ƒ2.8 or the 60 ƒ2.4; processed in LR, Pro Neg Hi, beef up the contrast a little, and in some cases pull back on the shadows/darks a tad. Told ya'll I was tired...forgot the instagram link. https://www.instagram.com/crausmus/

  7. If you have a 15" Laptop and want to put your laptop in the bag, then you'll have to get the one that can accommodate that one, or get the smaller one, and buy another bag for when you want to carry your laptop. And if you don't want to buy a bigger bag just because you may occasionally carry your laptop, then I'd look at a different style of bag all together if it were me. That's only if you're going to have to have two bags anyway, might as well be two different styles of bag.
  8. Anyone ever tried this? Looks extremely powerful, and for just 100 US, just a couple of the features make it a great value. If you haven't, watch the whole video so you can see just what this system is capable of. https://youtu.be/2nVB8D6jfBM
  9. I've been considering getting an L (or T, if I could find now with the Thread Mount Adapter still on it). I think it would be an awesome camera for the way I shoot. As for the 70, I've been setting it to F8 and manual focusing at about 7 feet and been getting great results. I've also been really considering the OVF, as I miss not having a viewfinder a lot with the X70.
  10. Try looking at Lenstag as well. Perhaps they could help you find the owner...
  11. Every time I put mine on the T1, it impresses me. I mainly use it for events like the Spring Festivals and things. Incredibly sharp. If I were a wedding photographer or something, I'd want the faster 50-140, but I'm not, so....
  12. XPro-1 yet again... Saw one on a FB Group Im in the other day for 450...
  13. I see your point, and you could be 100% correct. I could be completely wrong, or we could both be right on some level. I own an X70 and I want an X100 really bad. Of course I am really wanting the S over the T (due to the shooting experience), but haven't found one that I'm excited enough to drop the money on yet; but I am looking hard. I still think the shooting experience of the two cameras is different enough (comparing the T and the 70) that buyers would rather have one over the other, and it wouldn't effect their buying decision. More than likely it's the possibility that the next generation is around the corner that is effecting that decision, in my opinion. I don't think that Fuji expects huge numbers out of the 70. It's a niche product for the street photographer, and a replacement for the aging GR in my opinion. However, this is just all conjecture on my part. Still fun to dream though...
  14. Just picked up the 27, that shipped out of Hong Kong for 217. Transaction cleared today, and when I got home from work the lens was on my doorstep. I ordered on the 21st. Now that's fast shipping. I'll put it through it's paces and see how I like it for sure, but looks like the one down the street at the camera shop to me, and the shot I took of my back yard looked nice. We'll see...
  15. I disagree. The X100 series and the X70 are completely different planes. The X70 is meant to capture that audience that is tired of replacing their GR's every year or two and the audience that has heard all the horror stories about the GR, and give other's a high quality option with an APS-C sensor, instead of the smaller sensor options. If you have an X100 that you are happy with, you aren't replacing it with the X70. The lens adapter is cheaper. You might supplement your kit with the 70, but it can't replace the X100, and don't see it ever doing so. I don't disagree that they have the technology available. And to mark the anniversary of the X100, you may see the next generation of that camera announced at Photokina. That is the camera that started this whole thing for Fuji. It is the camera that launched this revolution. It's the camera that brought many of the pros that use Fuji to the system. It's integrated in so many of their kits and workflow. The next generation of the X100 will be another game changer.
  16. Considering the popularity and success of the X100 line is there any reason to suspect they won't release an update? I'd prefer them to release an update when they feel they can deliver a camera that will meet or exceed the expectations of the customer. Not just release one because it's been a minute...
  17. You can always check out VSCO or Totally Rad or one of the other LR/CR Preset Companies. I can attest that VSCO does a great job with film simulations.
  18. Professionals use the X-T10. Doesn't matter what level the camera is. What matters is what is the right tool for you. That's all that matters. The only people worried about what level of camera you are using for your craft are usually found on those web forums that center around those other brands. It doesn't have a grip because there is no way for the grip to communicate with the camera. That is the question asked by the OP, that is the answer provided by the community. Fuji chose to not make available because the target market for the camera isn't the sector of the market that exactly purchases the add-ons users of the T1 series will.
  19. Here's a shot I took on the 16th at the Trump Protest with the 14 ƒ2.8. These guys were just a few feet away from me when I snapped it. I could have squared up a little better, but you can see there is little to no distortion. I love the 14. I'm so happy I bought it. Taken on the X-T1 if it matters. Processed in LR CC 2015. only adjustments were contrast and profile set to Pro Neg Hi.

  21. For those of you looking for a battery now...I've been using these in my X-Pro1 for the past couple of weeks and I'm very impressed with them. I'm going to buy some for my X70 and more for my Pro1 and T1 as well. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YNUYPNG/ I took one to the Trump Protest and was extremely impressed with the life of the battery. The cost is really nice as well, and they appear to have just a bit more capacity as well. Like I said, I'm picking some up in the N95 variety to try out in my X70, but if they are anything like the 126's I know I'll like them...
  22. I don't know of a menu setting for it, but if you just press the button down fully, it will snap the picture whether it's able to lock on focus or not. If you use back button, you eliminate that priority from the shutter release button though. Rico, adzman, or someone else might have some other suggestions, for what you're wanting to achieve, but these are the two methods I use, although I get better results using back button.
  23. Nope. You push the button once and the camera takes three shots.
  24. Don't you get a quick burst of three just by bracketing? The camera wouldn't be able to determine which of your 8-10 frames you'd want bracketed. I'm assuming that's why it doesn't work in Continuous Shooting Modes. Rico could probably answer it better though.
