  1. New X-T4 owner here also interested.
  2. Could it be this (from Fujifilm's web site): Pre-AF for faster focusing By tuning Pre-AF the camera will continuously focus even before you press the shutter button halfway down. This constant AF action speeds up focusing when you half-press the shutter button. This is an effective option when you don't want to miss a shot. Go to the Autofocus Setting menu to activate this option.
  3. Are you using a lens with OIS? If you are, turn image stabilization on and off with the lens. If you put a lens on the camera without OIS, OFF will suddenly appear in the menu.

What happens if you go into Custom Settings and set it as something else?
  5. I've been shooting with Fuji for the last few years first with an X-Pro1 and then adding an X-T1 and X100S. (I just didn't want to be carrying my FF Canon around everywhere.) Out of the three Fuji's, the X-T1 and X100S are the keepers. They just work for the way I shoot. Recently I wanted to give DSLRs another try. I ended up getting a Nikon D810 and a few primes. Heavy as all get out but amazing resolution and dynamic range. Not sure why it's an either or situation for most people. I see strengths in both camps. The Nikon gets used mostly on a tripod and is used for still lives and landscapes where I can use LiveView/mirror lock up and take my time. The X-T1 is the walking around/every day camera. And the X100s is the camera to take when I normally wouldn't take a camera. And it's also the discrete, people picture camera. It's great to have choices. And take advantage of them.
  6. I also notice I get no depth of field indication on the focus distance scale with the 90mm. But this is not just with the X-Pro1; it's the same with my X-T1 also.
  7. Owning the X-Pro1 for a few years and recently getting an X-T1 a couple of months ago, one of the biggest differences for me is the articulating screen on the X-T1. When taking low landscapes with the X-Pro1, I'd be all over the ground framing the pic. Now with the X-T1, flip the screen out; much easier.
  8. As an experienced X-Pro user, I recently added an X-T1. The ability to customize was overwhelming. The first thing I did was shut all the programmable buttons off. Then i would use the camera. As I needed an option more than a few times, I'd assign it to a button. As I went along, options that I accessed more often would be assigned to buttons that were easier to reach. With in a few days, I had all the options I used assigned to buttons. And half my programmable buttons still have nothing assigned to them.
  9. I have four Fuji lenses. Each has it's own B+W UV filter and lens hood. That said, I NEVER use lens caps. Overkill? Probably, but I think of it as cheap insurance.
  10. Thanks for all the suggestions. For reasons of feel, familiarity and really liking the pics Fuji's make, I've decided to stick with a Fuji. I was able to compare the X-Pro1/27mm vs X100T. While on paper it doesn't seem much different, the X100T definitely fit in my pocket better. Being in complete trial mode here, I have a used X100S coming in. I'm looking forward to trying it out and see how much use it gets compared to my X-Pro1. Thanks again for all your help.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check out some of those other cameras but I'm thinking I may want to stay in Fuji Land. In addition to loving the pics, I really enjoy the experience of photography with my X-Pro1. To an old timer, it feels like I'm using a camera (and not a computer).
  12. I am literally looking for a camera that I can carry around in my (jacket) pocket. Or store in a handlebar bag on a bicycle. I already have the X-Pro1 and a few lenses. But not the 27mm. I'm debating going with my X-Pro1 and the 27mm vs getting the X100T. Looking at Fuji's web site, it appears the X100T is about half an inch shorter in every dimension. On paper, that doesn't seem like a lot. But reality can be much different. So to those who have both, is the X100T much smaller than the X-Pro1/27mm? Thanks. (And I realize the right way to do this is to actually try them out in person. But I'm about a week away from getting to the store so I thought I'd ask here first.)
