I really fell quite hard while cycling with this camera hanging on my belly. The lens (not on this image) is broken, but this camera is really unbelievably strong!

Everything seems to work like before the crash, I'm really surprised of the strength of this camera! Definitely feels like a pro body!

(And I also love the images it produces by the way.)

This photo was taken with an iPhone.

Believe it or not, now, according to some forum members, your camera looks exactly like it should and they’ve actually worked with steel wool and sandpaper on their camera to make it look like this one of yours!

So, now you can say that the camera has a “pro  look” too!

Years ago my Pentax 6 x 7 fell from the tripod ( I thought it was safely screwed on the thing but it wasn’t), the result was just a dent on the corner of the top brass section of the camera. I had it replaced despite the fact that the camera was operational and the funny thing was that my camera got a new serial number (because the part which was replaced was the part where the serial number was).

I bet the damage to the pavement was much worse... ;-)

Yep, for me it too risky to ride and to shoot at the same time. I've tried that only ones.

I wonder how the ISO ring (around the shutter speed dial) ended up ground down around the entire circumference. That seems like an atypical damage pattern for this sort of incident.

And did anyone notice how the finger prints on the left side of the top plate look like they are somehow etched into the paint?

Yup.... and the body adjacent to the ISO ring is undamaged. Something fishy, me thinks...

Hello,

I hope you are going better as the camera !

It remember my story, My X-Pro2 fell down on Lava rocks quite hardly when he was on tripod (a Gust of wind), only some scratches on the screen, the rest was totally functional, really a trusty body !!

If the image of the camera is anything to go by then that was one heck of an impact, I trust you are not too badly beaten up?  The Fuji's are incredibly robust and their weight does not always endorse the strength of the body.

Good to hear it is still performing and lets hope Fuji can sort out the problem for you.

I loved the comment about the person who deliberately defaced his camera - I remember reading about him using wire wool to deface it.............a shame as genuine patination from use looks good but what he did was deliberate and looked it.

My XT-2 was two days new.  Had a 60mm lens on it and somehow while taking the camera and lens from around my neck they flew a couple feet and crash landed on asphalt...........OMG.  Lens got a ding on the end ring where the hood attaches (still goes on OK, but requires a little more careful alignment).  Otherwise everything seems ok.  Even did a DIY centering test using notebook reinforcing tabs on a black background and the images were fine.  Whew.....I dodged a bullet and became even more impressed with Fuji.

    • Hey everyone, I am new to the fujifilm system, and I just received my X100vi about 15 days ago, and yesterday I noticed that ISO and exposure dials are acting up. I spent hours watching YouTube videos and reading forms without finding any solutions. Using ChatGPT or Gemini also didn’t help. My issues are the following: If I want to set my ISO at a specific value then the camera LCD/EVF shows a totally different value. For example, I have shutter manual, aperture manual and ISO dial at 6400, the camera shows ISO at 4000, when I take pictures it will show ISO at 4000 and not 6400. When I try to choose another ISO value it will skip some of the available values that are shown on the dial. Another issue I am having is when my exposure dial is not set at specific value, then I cannot set ISO to Auto no matter what value I select on the dial. If I do select the different exposure compensation values, then I choose A for ISO, the camera will activate the front commend dial to manually change ISO values. To get in Auto ISO, the shutter speed cannot be set in auto and the ISO dial should be set at 125, when I turn the ISO wheel, it seems like the numbers are misaligned by one value, If I put the dial on A with shutter speed manual, then it will trigger the front commend dial. The other issue that I am having is when I have Aperture, shutter speed and ISO on manual, If I change the exposure dial compensation + or - , it actually changes the exposure of the picture as well as the ISO value, which as I understand, if Camera is in full manual, the exposure dial should do nothing. The last issue that I am having, if I do have ISO in manual at a set value, and adjust exposure compensation dial, it alters my ISO instead of my shutter speed or my aperture, even though ISO is in Manual and the other two dials are in Automatic. I am not really sure if all of this is by design and I am just not understanding how everything works together, but it seems really odd how everything changes. Resetting the camera settings didn’t help.
    • I also have the eaxct problem with my X-T5. The remote used to work, but not anymore. I also get the light coming on on the camera back, and autofocus will happen, but no shutter release. Since I use the 2 or 10 seconds timer more I don't know if a firmware update is the cause of this negative change. I actualley only use the wired jack-remote for action release on a tripod.  Did anybody find a cause, and even more assisting, a solution?
    • I have the same issue. Have you found the the solution?

    • On my XPro 2 the rear command dial, when pressed, can cycle through 3 different magnification levels in the OVF.
