  1. In my opinion, being made in China - read less production expenses/lower salaries - only worth if the price is significantly lower. However I hope it won't happen the same it happened to Nikon, with cameras and, even more, lenses.
  2. Agree. Not variable. I have a ND16 and a ND64. B&W is the top but the price is also top of the top. Hoya, Kenko are very good and same manufacturer. The latest I've got is Gobe wich is really good. Also, for each filter they plant 5 trees wich, nowadays, is the most important thing.
  3. Hello. I'd go for the 14. The 16 is too close to 23 and it's a lens that when you use it, you often realize you need a wider fov.
  4. Looking for cheap often means getting screwed. Anyways try to search if there's any fixer-repairer where you live. And, maybe and if there's any, comparing with the price they apply at an official Fuji point.
  5. Hello flyer, actually I haven't understood your problem quite well. Anyways here's the grip I use on my X-E2. It's one of those chineses, they all are. I only use the L baseplate, I don't use the side part for the vertical shoot nor I ever tried to mount it. The grip works quite well but every now and then, if I use the 55-200 shooting vertically on the tripod, I have to tight the screw in the quick release plate because it gets loose. I've attached the side part only to show you how it is. Actually I cannot attach the other 2 pictures, but you can see them on the gallery in the main page.
  6. Jo Andi. First, thank you for your work. A person working on something that others will enjoy is always to thank for what he does. I haven't checked the whole new website, not much time. One thing I'd like to say, in my strictly personal opinion: the graphics of the site is not consistent with the top and the rest. I would have changed the top choosing a light one to match the rest better or, vice versa, a dark page matching the dark top. But, having said this, everybody has his own tastes. Thank you again and grüßi

    Piper at the gates!

Really nice. But any Gates of Dawn?
  8. Fuji app replaces the tilt screen somehow

  10. Yes, chose F/22 or about on the lens, so you'll have everything in focus. But, since I never used video mode yet, if you put the camera on manual focusing does the app carry on with continuous focusing?
  11. Hello bhedges. Yes, that is a silly option by Fuji in my opinion. Right now I don't remember well, but they could have specified in the manual a different way like "shoot with a manual lens" rather then "take a photo without lens". There also should be something connected with the sound. But I might remember wrongly.
  12. Yes, welcome. After mein liebling Deutschland left the Cup not having played at all, I was hoping Japan would have reached the final for a sort of miracle. But Belgium and Kroatia are the teams that played better. So I hope that'll be the final.
  13. Hello Vashnisht. I hope I won't say a blasphemy since I've only used the app to take pictures, never videos. But you could getting a point in focus then set the camera on manual and start filming. I don't know if you wish to film steady or moving the camera around. Usually you change focus when you point the camera on a certain point, keeping it not moving, for example a person, a face, an object, and so on. In all other cases I think you might only want to close the lens on the minimum diaphragm to keep everything in focus.
  14. You also have to put on the dish the different prices. How much one does worth the difference? I had the chance to make a comparison between the 35mm and the f/2 is a little wider, talking about fow, than the other. However in this case the f/1,4 is much more detailed and sharp. Maybe is the same for the 23mm though I haven't made the same comparison when I had both.
  15. You can have nice separation and bokeh also at f/2. I own a f/2, I owned a f/1.4 for a couple days, resold it almost istantly. It had a bad colour fringe and it wasn's sharp at all. My f/2 is way better. Having said so, you should try more samples of the same lens, having the chance. Not 2 lenses are the same and my ex F/1.4 was probably one of the few? Many? not being well built.
  16. Hedges, the 55-200 is a great lens. Unfortunately the longest Fuji one is the 100-400 which is huge. It's stabilized but probably usable only on a tripod to shoot wildlife. The 55-200 is much more handy. The 50-230 is also good even not as much as 55-200. Or you have the 50-140 that with a 2x converter becomes a 280. Though they are on a complete different price level. Here's a crop of a shot I took with the 55-200, a seagull flying. He was in the distance. Sorry for the dimensions, I didn't have the time to make it bigger for the forum. About the wide angle, I owned the Samyang 12 and it's a fantastic lens, its three dimensionality is awesome. Actually I own the Fuji 14 F/2,8 another great lens that also works great for astro.

  18. Do you have the chance to try it on somebody else's camera? Or maybe a shop will let you check if it works, expecially since you're interested in buying the latest model.
  19. I have the 23 f/2 and owned the 23 f/1.4. I kept the first and sold the latter since the quality. The problem is one should have the chance to try different lenses of the same model since they're manually assembled and they're not all equal. I also owned the 35 f/2 and I have the f/1.4: in this case I sold the first one because of the quality.
