  1. I agree, Richard. I use both a lllf and a M4 and they're super cameras, though film ones. I said that about Leica because not all lenses are that great, expecially for the super price they cost. I can believe what you heard about Fuji quality control. As I wrote in another thread, I owned a 23mm f1.4 which corners were sharper than the center, quite odd. It was definitely the lens, since I don't have the same problem with any other lens I own. In these cases the question is always how much the Leica super price worths related to its quality and compared to the Fuji quality and price. You know that a certain fraction of Leica price it's because the red logo on the camera.
  2. Since you said the lens has been used only three times, I guess it's new. If so, take it back to the store and make them change it.
  3. I like all the pictures in this thread, I'm just too lazy to "like" all. However this might be a film shoot. Really, really nice
  4. Kate, if you don't need autofocus, go for the Samyang. I own a 12 and it's a great lens. Also. Being that wide, if you use it half close on, you don't even need autofocus: set it on infinity and everything from a short distance to the horizon will be focused. And it costs a fraction of the Zeiss.
  5. However you have no idea how many people complain about Leica lenses. Not all, obviously, but "all that glisters is not gold."
  6. Richard did you try other lenses? This because even two identical lenses can get different results. I owned a 23 1.4 and wide open, 1.4 - 2, center was more blurred than corners. I took a sample proof but I deleted it. Also. It did suffer of that effect, now I don't remember the name, where you have a cyan border and a magenta opposite border of an object. However, I've got a 23 2 and it's perfect.
  7. Konzy, the only reason for signing or watermarking a photo is avoid others to get money out of it. Usually you do it if photography is your job or in case you have such an exceptional photo, or what you think is a exceptional photo, and you're worried somebody might get cash out of it. There are also people who just want a citation, you can use their pictures if you name them. Anyways, as other mates said above, the only way on the net to avoid having your work stolen is publish only low resolution pictures. I publish my stuff on the socials only for work, not liking socials at all, with a size in which the longer side of the image is 450px In this way, even if the photo is published with high resolution, it cannot be used for anything being too small sized. Grüße
  8. Unfortunately I was out and the only thing I had with me it was my phone. And I hate even thinking about taking pictures with a phone. The worst thing is I was out the previous day and there was another great sunset but by the time I was around home, it was already too dark to take a nice pic.
  9. There was a sunset similar to that sunrise here yesterday, unfortunately in a location not so pleasant
  10. Thank you, same to you.
  11. Not arguing but it seems to be in school with "...my pen is better than yours..." or "...my solution to the problem is better than yours..." I guess it's clear when I posted my pictures you haven't posted yours yet, or am I wrong? So I couldn't see the light stuff. Then, once you posted those samples, I noticed it and I wrote that. It's as simple as that. But, related to the next posts, let me know because every time I'll post one I might add "...this is my post, but Milandro will surely arrive with the right one".
  12. My 2 cents: avoid circular ND. B+W, Hoya/Kenko (Hoya produces under different brands) are quite good. Though B+W is quite expensive. It also depends on how many stops you need.
  13. Good. One thing: don't trust to several threads you'll find on the net about what grease to use. When I started working on lenses I knew a guy (a wish-I-was-a-fixer) who said he used the grease #10 or 30 for helicoids, which is absolutely wrong. Too thick, the focus will almost get stuck. Use the #500 that works well in quite all situations.
  14. It's about the light, not the field of view. It's impossible for one lens being as much darker as the other, compared to the pictures I took. Unless one of the two as an issue. But haveing seen the sky, I rather think they took the picture while the sun was covered by a cloud. A mistake not to do if comparing lenses or cameras or other.
  15. Bill, if I remember well, the f/1.4 has the correction of the distortion directly inside the lens (the optical scheme), while the f/2 has it through the in camera software
  16. I already saw the pics by Fuji. However I tend not to believe too much to "official" photos taken by companies since there's always the doubt regarding the business. Which lens do they want to sell more at that time? So, take those kind of pics not as the "holy truth". I also think those pics are kinda fake. Not been taken who knows how, but surely not in the correct way. My ones are much more trusty. I tried to change the lens as soon as I shot the first pic, with self timer at 2 secs, and you can see there isn't a huge difference in light as in the ones taken by Fuji.
  17. Camera on tripod. f/1,4 vs f/2. It's quite clear one of the two is not really 35mm
  18. Definitely. And it also wasn't a check or whatever was very professionally done. The first thing before reassembling a lens, it's to check if there are fingerprints, dust, and so on.
  19. I guess it's everybody secret desire the most important piece of gear we own is the 12 inches behind the camera (wanted to quote but wasn't able to. Tricky stuff)
  20. That would be fine. Unfortunately there are sellers who have bought items that are not in the conditions that have been described to them, who are completely unaware that the lens has been opened, or cleaned, or used, anyways they not necessarily have to be lying. If you get partial refund it's good, opening that lens is not a major work. Just use the right tools and get a good grease.
  21. Yuko, the dust inside can be possible. The fingerprint not, unless somebody opened it up. Anyways also a fingerprint might not appear on the shot. The only issue is that the seller lied to you.
  22. I have it and it works in every mode. I don't know if it's updated to the latest firmware, I don't think. I've read that if updated, the HSS "hidden" mode get lost.
  23. Did you try to downgrade the latest update to see if it works? For example, I've read Nissin has also released the update to make the i40 works ttl or I don't remember what, but I haven't sent it to have the job done because it fills my needs the way it is now.
