I suspect I will do the same 14, 35 & 56 or 16-55 & 35.

My icelandic trip with my fuji x-pro2
Naddan28 replied to darkshine231's topic in Landscape & Travel
Hi have you printed any yet? Notice the difference? -
I guess "revisiting" some of the earlier lenses to make them weather sealed. It's bizarre that the faster more expensive primes are not WR but the cheaper ones are. I'm surprised Fuji didn't think ahead a little with these lenses at the time of release, or perhaps the lineup has surpassed their wildest expectations!

Thanks for the reply. Fingers crossed our travel agent can confirm all the hotels. The 16-55mm is a great lens, I used it almost exclusively in California for a week. I'm just worried about bulk/being noticed whilst out and about, given Moroccans are not comfortable around cameras from what I've read thus far. Maybe that and the 35mm is the answer, vs a 3 prime kit. The Atlas Mountains on the other hand, seem to be a bit short on info re: long lens requirements.

Hi all, I thought I'd revive this thread to get some more input. I'm off hopefully on 31 October to spend 3 days in Marrakesh, 3 days Atlas, 4 days in Essioura. I'm lucky to have good selection of X lenses which gives me some great options, with Morocco I'm principally worried: - Will the 16-55mm plus grip draw way to much attention to me in souks and walking about etc? - will I need anything longer than the 56mm, especially in the Atlas Mountains or other parts of the trip? I really don't want to carry the 50-140mm unless it's going to get some solid mileage. I would consider renting the 90mm instead if the focal length is helpful. - is weather sealing helpful? In terms of interest, it's mainly landscapes and travel. Maybe the odd portrait but I'm not going to shoot loads of portraits.

Superb series of images.

Brave man!

ditto. A selection of images spoiled by excessive vignetting unfortunately.

Agreed, I'm not even going to pretend I have the ability to set up the lighting or anything like that! Just thought it would be a cool thing to share with other FXF fans as I've not seen loads of XT2 studio shots yet.

Hi all, I was lucky enough to attend a Fuji XT-2 promo with Wayne Johns and fuji reps to play with the X-T2 and full lens line up (including a preproduction 23mm F2). After a short talk Wayne set up two lights (one overhead, one to the side) and let us try the various X lenses and cameras with a live model (who was fantastic!). I thought I'd share a few shots below (1st one with the 90mm, 2nd and 3rd with the 56mm): Park Camera X-t2 day 1 by naddan28, on Flickr DSCF2563.jpg by naddan28, on Flickr Park Camera X-t2 day 3 by naddan28, on Flickr It's certainly a great camera, i'm really digging the Acros and the joystick but the ergonomics with the grip didn't feel as comfortable as an X-T1. Some more pondering for me before an upgrade I think!

Great post. Interesting comment about the A7Rii, i've been tempted a couple of times to make the jump but always been put off by something when playing with one, a "lack of soul" is probably a great way of describing it!

Great set!

Thanks for all the replies. It will be interesting to see what those who have been using the Xpro2 have seen. Comparing the output on the DPR studio scene against an XT1 & AR2 is interesting, pixel peeping shows a appreciable jump in details between the xtrans sensors but against the AR2 the jumpis far less marked. I guess the non-bayer array makes a big difference!

Hi - does anyone know whether the EF-X500's remote TTL can be triggered by another flash (say the X-T1's standard small flash) or would you require two X500's to get off camera TTL?
-
Thanks everyone, interesting responses thus far. In terms of printing, I'm talking A2 and above really, as I understand both cameras will be negligible at A3 or smaller sizes (both 300dpi). I'm just curious as to whether (beyond cropping room) the 16 vs 24mp is a genuine plus point, as the rest of the pluses better autofocus, 4K, ergonomic improvements are fact.

Hi all, I am an XT1 user, considering an upgrade to an XT2 and although it's a great camera one thing I can't find anywhere is whether people are noticing the extra 8mp (16 vs 24) in real world, non-pixel peeping use. Specifically printing. Given the XP2 has the same sensor and has been out a while, I thought I'd see whether any of our XP2 users have had any experience printing and can draw some real live comparisons to the previous X-Trans II sensor. Any comments gratefully appreciated!

Still no news on the price point though? A medium format camera could be great up sell (or even recapture) those who have looked at Sony a7riis. I'd love a medium format kit for landscapes and serious tripod stuff but the existing ASPC line up for travel etc. Price will be key though!

I have both lenses, 56mm gets little use but every time I think about selling it, I end up using it and loving the output. Specialised? yes but wonderful output! Part of the joy of the X system vs a FF camera for me is that I can have a wide range of high quality glass vs a small selection of expensive L lenses. After all, if cameras and lenses are tools I'd rather have a few quality screwdrivers and a hammer for different situations, as opposed to one super duper hammer!

My icelandic trip with my fuji x-pro2

So please post your results post printing. I'm really interested in the real world difference the extra 8mp makes! -

Wonderful images. Just out of curiosity have you printed any and how would you say the print quality is holding up in comparison to the X-trans II sensors. Can you "see" the extra 8mp? -
Whilst I agree serious video for large scale productions etc is clearly not going to be a DSLR/Mirrorless camera win but I see lots of applications between that and iPhone videos of birthdays/weddings for Facebook. Fuji jpeg colours are great. Fuji's lenses are great, the DoF you get back an iPhone could be really useful and for documentary work etc I suspect an XT1 is more practical than huge cine camera. On that basis I'd like Fuji to up their game significantly, simple things like a 3.5mm jack for microphones would be a start!

Hello! Canon event photographer planning to switch
Naddan28 replied to Handonam's topic in Newbie / Self Introduction
The one thing you've not mentioned is flash, which I thought would be a crucial part of an event photographers kit. Fuji's options are sorely lacking to that of Canon etc. Personally, unless the OVF is a deal breaker, I'd be waiting for the XT2. Battery grip, likely incremental spec bump for stills and rumoured intro of 4K video would be enough to pause and wait. As for a fast UWA zoom, I believe rumours of an 8-16mm f2.8 exist, or there is always the 26mm f1.4, given you're clearly comfortable with primes. NB the 4K comment above is probably not a deal breaker etc or something you'll need right now but if I were a small business owner (ie pro tog) I'd want to have the ability to launch new product offerings with no/minimal addition capex! -
Another plus one for Formatt Hitech. I've used their 85mm stuff for a while now and it's great.
