  1. Have you tried holding it the other way up?
  2. Just a thought - and I may be out to lunch - but have you tried using the 2D screen on the back of the camera, instead? Can't help thinking it might help you keep the bird in the frame better anyway.
  3. If you don't like your gear, sell it via eBay or whatever and give the proceeds to a charitable organization. Otherwise, get over yourself.
  4. Yeah, but that building on the right looks pretty nimble.
  5. Can't add more to that comment - unless the OP has more pictures to share ...
  6. Then you know what the answer is? Don't respond. Hopefully we can go back to discussions about Fujifilm Cameras and such, from here.
  7. You can adjust it? Hmmm I really must go back to reading the manual ...
  8. It's funny, ironic maybe. Although I had a Fujifilm X-10 point and shoot type camera for quite a few years, and enjoyed it greatly, I enjoyed the discipline of using a Fuji 645W Professional for about 15 years there. Not just fixed lens, but for much of the time using Tri-X ... come to think of it, that change was partly reactionary when I couldn't even buy Fuji 50 positive film any more. Then about four or five months back, I happened to pick up a friend's Canon DSLR with a medium range zoom on it - it was at his 50th birthday party, so I was just grabbing some shots of his many friends there - and using this flexible piece of equipment influenced me hugely when I broke my (no doubt last) film camera last fall, and replaced it with an X-T2 and 16 ~ 55 zoom. Different disciplines, different times. 50 years of shooting pictures, still and always having fun with it.
  9. Why is this a problem for you? Any photographer who understands depth of field - and, if necessary, how to use aperture priority if shooting in automatic - would be able to get around this issue. Your camera is a tool; learn how to use it.
  10. The panorama feature on the X-T2 was the decider for me.
  11. Hope you enjoy your X-T20!
  12. Exposure Compensation Dial position alert. When they designed the X-T2, Fuji wisely added 'lock' buttons to both the ISO and Shutter Speed dials, so that these couldn't be moved inadvertently. So why the hell didn't they do the same with the Exposure Compensation Dial? It needs this more than the others, being positioned at the extreme right end of the top of the camera, where it's easiest to be moved by mistake; I've done it just taking the camera out of my backpack - and more than once, I might add. Plus which, the X-10 I owned previously had the exact same issue. I sometimes wonder if the nerds who design these things ever actually use them in the real world, quite honestly. Obviously, they can't retroactively add a physical feature such as a lock button at this point (though it should be done to the next generation). But they could surely include a firmware update that would make that exposure compensation information on the left side of the viewfinder blink repeatedly, or turn orange, or something, if the dial has been moved away from the 0 position.
  13. I think I was lucky - put in my order mid-January and got the camera February 8th. I know of another person who has had to wait way longer to get his. It looks like the disconnect between supply and demand is loosening up now though, so hopefully folks in both Canada and the US will be able to get their hands on one soon.
  14. Wow, thank you, that's just the sort of info I was seeking. The camera will be on a tripod, or handheld, but not in a moving vehicle (my goal is to produce a useful video about how to do a Pre-Trip Inspection on a Class 4 vehicle) so no worries about stability. Um, what's a 'Lav Mic'? Thanks in advance.
  15. A bit of background; I'm 62, been taking photographs since I was 12, spent quite a while in photographic retail in the 70's / 80's (heck, I'm a 'Certified Photographic Councilor' whatever the hell that means) but really I'm a bit of a dinosaur in this digital age. Through all my years of using more still cameras than I can remember, my interest in shooting Super 8, VHS, Video, or whatever has been zilch, pretty much. However, I'm the proud owner of an X-T2 w/16~55 lens and I understand from all the promo and Fuji Guys glitz etc that this is a supersonic wazoo device for making movies. But although it may be ideal tool to tackle Avatar Part 2 or whatever, my interest is far more humble. I am the Owner/Operator of my own Driving School, specializing in small bus operation, and I simply need to create some content that I can upload to my YouTube channel as a training aid. And I've progressed far enough that doing this from my mobile phone or dash-cam is within my skill set. I've learned to pre-edit before doing this. But I figure that if I go shooting stuff in 4k video, apart from the massive battery drainage, the upload time (even after editing) would be several weeks, and pointlessly high quality given the medium it's meant for. So, a two-part question. 1. How do I set up my X-T2 to produce an acceptably high quality result that it will look fine rather than fuzzy once uploaded? 2. Will the microphone in the X-T2 be able to pick up the human voice at a distance of up to 6 or 7 metres (in a quiet area where background noise isn't an issue) or will I need an external microphone? Thanks if you know anything about this!
  16. Pardon my ignorance, but how are those images you posted of relevance to aftermarket batteries?
  17. There's an app now on Google Play that uses your phone for Geotagging. Also that's a weird spelling for precision, eh?
  18. I've enjoyed this Thread; particularly your sense of humour. Remarkable to me how many others have moved on from Canon to Fuji; I had five of the former (along with a nice set of their choice lenses) and the X-T2 is my third Fujifilm camera. Never bothered with camera cases, an expensive nuisance basically, cameras are tools so far as I'm concerned. My X-T2 with 16-55 lens (including hood), and a quick release Manfrotto tripod mount permanently installed on the base of the camera, sits perfectly on a flat surface, the right way up so there you go. Seems like a tough body to me, if it wears a bit - which even my EF & F1 did over time and use, can't say it's going to bother me unduly. As an aside, it kills me to see that some folks are now paying extra for 'graphite' finishes on their cameras - just as thirty years ago you had to pay extra for black!
  19. I can't speak to your experience with the iPhone, but as soon as I saw this Thread I went to Google Play and grabbed the 'Fujifilm Camera Remote' for Android and installed in in my LG4. Still experimenting at this point - it seems capable of a number of different functions (but isn't exactly intuitive the way it's set up) but for sure with the Wireless setting turned on in the X-T2 the camera immediately added accurate geotagging information to the next photo I took ... which was of my phone, go figure ...
  20. Yeah I'm with you on this. The grip is a very desirable accessory, but the price is outrageous at present. I'll be in Vegas in a couple of months, hopefully win a few bucks in coincidence with a price cut ... hey, it could happen!
  21. Hi Folks, Just saying hello to all at this point, will be looking to pick your brains soon. I'm a little frustrated; I previously owned both a Fuji X-10 Digital point-and-shoot and a Fuji 645W Professional Film camera, both of which were damaged recently (my own stupidity, but that's why you have insurance). So with all settled, I'm now the proud and delighted owner of an X-T2 with the remarkable 16-55 lens, Being a bit of a dinosaur - this is my umpteenth camera, since acquiring my Mum's box brownie 50 years ago - never mind all the cameras borrowed from other sources, I'm relatively conversant with photography, but maybe not so much with digital stuff. Hoping some folks can assist me with what the Fuji Guys cannot. I already know how to hold a camera, eh? Also the 'rule of 3rds'. Don't give a darn about shooting 4k video at this point. Unable to contact Fujifilm Canada in order to correct my registration info (they have my middle name as my last name, and won't allow me to complete the process as apparently they have my home email address on file from my X10 ownership, so now I have to use my business email addy and a different Member ID just to get this far) ... 20 zillion links on their website, but NO DIRECT EMAIL contact, how frustrating. Anyway sorry to intro with a complaint, I have a sunny disposition and a great attitude generally. Regards, Paul aka CDBC
