  1. Fuji have claimed several times that they will not make any FF camera. Now there are rumors for a medium format camera and I wouldn't expect it to be using any of the current X line lenses.
  2. It is more related to the always pressure to meet release date of products, not many companies are willing to post-pone a release if they feel things aren't going as they should. Nikon did it recently with their D5 and D500 and was met with general discontentment because of it.
  3. Lightroom, for its cataloging capabilities. Even if you decide to never ever do any kind of editing, the cataloging is going to be handy if you shoot a lot and need ways to find back what you did at what time. I know some colleagues who works only in CaptureOne and DxO but all them use Lightroom for cataloging the shots. Now, if you don't shoot raw, none of them really matter, technically you could even do your editing with the google photo in browser editor. For have used both Lightroom and Photo Ninja, Lighroom is clearly a lot easier to use, even for a beginner in photo editing, everything you need is directly accessible on the right side panel, from white balance, to color saturation and sharpening. The extra plugins to export to other platform like Facebook, Flikr and other comes handy too. It takes maybe a small hour to learn it but afterward you are good to go, plus if you feel like doing more and start shooting raws, you already have a good platform to start on and learn basis and master more things later on. Last point in its favor, it is really easy to find tutorials for Lightroom, even free ones over Youtube.
  4. 0) Quite improbable as the X-Pro2 demonstrated 1) Very possible since the X-Pro2 already has a 24 MP sensor 2) See above :] 3) Kind of a split here, the tilty one for sure, the flipy part, not so certain 4) Again, see X-Pro2 5) Meh... it's about as decent as it gets so far... 6) Confirmed by Fuji that IBIS will never land on an X-Trans sensor camera (sorry) 7) Not sure as Fuji still doesn't have any proprietary flash system 8) X-Pro2 got +/-2 EV for 3 shots, not huge improvement but still better than what we have 9) Not sure of that ever happening, mostly ergonomics for the button, I rather like the current setup on my X-T1 10) Maybe, but I would rather not have it at all if the implementation are going to be flimsy 11) Well the X-Pro2 is a lot bigger, the X-T2 could be following the same path, worst case, extra grip parts 12) I would rather have a better integration with a cellphone than an internal GPS where the signal is going to be blocked by the magnesium alloy casing, specially if they do decide to toughen up the X-T2.
  5. Looks like you are getting the sensor grid on your picture, my question is, did you do anything to your sensor lately ? Or has it always been there ? On the later case, I would clearly advice you to send it for maintenance/repair. On the first case too but you might need to pay out the repairs.
  6. I would say top one is Fuji ?
  7. Not certain it's a bug, the way Fuji explained the AF-C, it's the camera is always looking for something that is moving, so if you are static and try to log at something that's not moving, you better use the AF-L button on the back rather than half press. The half press will make the camera try to lock it's focus on that moving subject.
  8. Small correction, you can use the back dial for the aperture for any Fuji lens, BUT you have to set the aperture to Automatic at first, and then you can use the back dial to change the settings. If your X-T1 is on FW4.1 and above, you can use the T speed on the dial and change the speed like Tikcus confirmed on above post. This is about as close as it can get for Canikon users :]
  9. Couple of questions: - How bad is chroma ? - How usable is it wide open with the manual focus ? Thank you
  10. Agreed, I really disliked the EvF on the X-Pro2, it felt constrained, higher refresh rate but damn it was tiny inside... Maybe I got spoiled by the X-T1 and the large roomy EvF. And yes, it could be that I would rather need to get a second hand camera or take a damn decision about that Nikon D500.
  11. Any reasons you can't do it manually? I mean for a panorama, you have the time to take your shots anyway
  12. If IQ is a concern of yours, I would take the 35 F1.4 over the 27, if you just want something small to always have with you, the 27 will fit the bill much better. Like Tom said, I would maybe keep an eye on the rumored 23 F2, we currently don't know how small it is going to be, but it's on the buy list of a lot of forum members already, me included. Guesstimate place it somewhere between the 18 with aperture ring toward a larger 27 without the aperture ring. Yes pretty much, loosing IS for long range zoom is rather inconvenient.
  13. It's priced correctly for something that is the somewhat "equivalent" of the Nikkor 200-500 F5.6E lens. It's not bad at all I would say for something that has longer reach while still have a decent size for its range. The Image comes out quite nicely both from short and long ends. the OIS is as good as in the 18-135 zoom lens. Plus it gives Fuji shooters something that was severely lacking, meaning longer range. Is it as good as a prime lens ? Nope, but do we have anything else to replace it or even remotely compare it to ? Not really either. The lens is sharp enough at both ends and contrast nicely too. I really don't get your grippe against that lens. Please name me a single long range zoom of its price range that produce better image than it and we can start talking. The 100-400 lens is akin to the 18-135, it's a lens of compromise, you get a slight dip in IQ but gain a lot more in practicability.
  14. I don't think I could ever use only legacy lenses, there are several times where I will need the AF, where the camera will be faster than me at making the focus. My idea at first was to have: - 24mm F2.8 - 58 mm F2 - 105mm F2.8 With the lens turbo, I would have the following coverage: - 24 F2 - 36 F2.8 - 58 F1.4 - 87 F2 - 105 F2 - 157 F2.8 That's what I would call a rather decent coverage of primes using 1 lens turbo and 2 simple adapters and swap the lenses around when I need. Since I am going to manual focus it is clearly for occasions where I have the time to fiddle with the lenses too.
  15. Nothing to add from my side, you pretty much know what you want and what you want to get out of the gear. So, welcome around
  16. Very good, it's definitely becoming my favorite. Specially with the Helios 58mm lens, getting slightly better with manual focusing too. Going to build a set of walk-around legacy lenses, just missing a 24mm F2 or F2.8 to be set, or actually wait for the 23mm F2 when it gets released so I still have at least one AF capable lens.
  17. In the end, isn't that all that matters ? :] Not all of use are that keep on the acronyms and all, but after a while you will known them and start using them yourself, kind of a lingo but just for photography. We can all argue all we want about what X does that Y might do better while Z is laughing his arse off because A, B and C did something else. But what really matters is really that picture you took the other looks pleasing to you.
  18. Rico did confirmed in another post that DR setting is indeed affecting the RAW files on the X-T1, considering the X-Pro2 is build on the "same" architecture, it wouldn't be surprising to see the same effects on the X-Pro2. All this is, of course, purely guess work from my part as I won't be holding another X-Pro2 any time soon.
  19. Hmm... might be a wise idea to maybe look for a second hand body then. I don't really a lens to go with the body as I have enough for the moment. Thanks for keeping an eye on it Milandro, it is appreciated :]
  20. Mostly moirée, that's thing is super bad on Fuji's X system video. The aliasing can also be of some concern. For short clips, you will be fine. For getting that very important moment of your life, you will be MUCH better served by a Sony handycam. I like to think of it as it was a smartphone level of quality if compared to still photography; it's nice and can be used when nothing else is available and you won't be too picky about the quality of it.
  21. Watch out for consistency in your posts ;] You either know how to use the lens, or you don't. If you don't know, that's fine we all have to start from somewhere. But writing that you know about the lens from your X-T1 and wondering how to use it on the X-Pro2 sounds awfully weird to me. Anyway, glad to have helped out !
  22. Not sure if serious or if click baiting...
  23. The Fujinon 55-200 R LM DOES have an aperture ring, that's what the R stands for, it's just unmarked since it's a variable aperture zoom. The ring is located right below the zoom range marking. Oh and also the A switch.
  24. We can debate all day long about that point, but I do get your need for an aperture ring. I personally prefer something as low profile as possible as it is easier to fit in a coat pocket or the side pocket of a bag.
