  1. Between the 60 and 50 F2, I'd choose the 60 anyday.
  2. Thanks. Missed that one. It was odd to see such a gadget. "Platinum series. High definition". I guess, if you're really snooping....... ....and quite a sum of good money too!
  3. I don't have pictures of my own as I didn't buy the lens at the end. Some of the review pictures which made me somewhat convinced were these. Please, I'm not judging the pictures of these bloggers in any way. I'm saying the "compression" effect and the lack of real background separation, at some distances, is making me very confused to the point of finding them annoying. It may not be obvious for you or others. I speak for myself. http://bjornmoerman.blogspot.my/2017/02/first-look-fujifilm-xf50mm-f2-r-wr.html http://www.caveiraphotography.com/blog/getting-grainy-with-the-fujinon-xf50-f2-wr-and-xt-2-a-review-from-a-fella-in-oxford These blogs were very helpful in helping me decide that I'd keep my 56 F1.2.
  4. This must be for the voyeurist in us all. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F49052/ref=as_li_ss_til?tag=bp09b-20&camp=213381&creative=390973&linkCode=as4&creativeASIN=B000F49052&adid=1M9BD61S926SE07EYJC0&
  5. I can't get used to the "compression" and background render of the F2. At some distance, it's confusing my perceptions. And that's at F2. First time I am experiencing this.....
  6. This "ultimate" or "supreme" camera reminds me of the time when the SONY RX1 was launched.......interesting times ahead.......
  7. I guess everyone is trying to come up with unique, ingenious ideas. Hit and miss I guess. I don't mind the laughs though.... A £2.5 rain poncho, a big plastic bag and a rubberband was my make shift "weather proof" gear in the Borneo. I was surprised how well it worked.
  8. Hahaha...... I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels the same. I was very curious to see what others think. Danger aside, it could prove very cumbersome if one had a back pack. And it really doesn't look like it's any use with crosswinds.
  9. Nubrella anyone? Now we won't need WR. https://petapixel.com/2017/04/13/nubrella-hands-free-umbrella-can-keep-camera-dry/
  10. Most people call it the lens name ring. Some name ring doubles up as a front element retainer ring. Sorry you lost yours. You can probably get it off Fujifilm service centers.
  11. I'm waiting for the 30mpx APS-C X-Pro3 which shoots 16 bit raw, and newer, faster lenses to hit F1.2 and F1.0. When that happens, the line between APS-C and FF will be blurred. Don't need MF resolution. Will leave that for the die hard studio, wedding and landscape photographers.
  12. I'd recomment the Cactus V6 ii. Works like a charm. Works on all Canon and Nikon flashes. The TTL firmware update for Fujifilm is right round the corner.
  13. Two of my main cameras are grey imports with 1 year store warrantee. So far ok. I guess, buy from a store you trust.
  14. I don't think Fujifilm UK was unreasonable. I would be greatful if they changed it for me once F.O.C. That's usually the most that any centers in the world would do. Some may do more due to long standing relationships, if they have one. This will be a case to case scenario. I agree that most "reputable" 3rd party batteries are still a gamble somewhat. I'm also inclined to think that it's more the batches of raw li-ion cells coming from bulk manufacturers which are to be blamed. I don't think 3rd party battery companies manufacture their own. They still get it from China or Japan. I also understand that li-ion batteries are very prone to failure from contaminants in the polymers itself. Contaminated batteries are more prone to out gassing and early failure. Wasabi uses high quality li-polymer cells from Japan but the batches from 2-3 years ago all show bulging issues.
  15. I've been using wasabi all along without issues but I must say that the last batch I bought from them for both my fujifilm and eos m has started to buldge within a year. So, I'm currently staying away from them. In terms of capacity, they are about 80% of the originals in real world usage..
  16. Time to look at the GFX50s.
