Which gear to use for a 15 year birthday party?
Aswald replied to hjalmarg1's topic in General Discussion
I'd bring these, 5D3 + 24-70 and Camera mount flash T2 + 23, 90 and bring the 14 for wide group shots. 15 year olds are a dynamic bunch. Pictures should reflect that. 23mm great for that effect (the 16mm is even better). 90mm for the occasional snoop shot of intimate expressions & sometimes to get out of the way... Ideally, if you have a 2nd photographer, it would be better. -
Actually, that's what's recommended by most people I speak to. If not mistaken Fujifilm says for faster assignment, use fewer af points but for better fine tuning use more af points. For me, the joystick is definitely faster than the Dpad. Yes, if they had cursor speed adjustment it would be perfect. Something, I'm sure can be had via firmware update.

The viewing experience on the T series trumps the Pro series, whether it's TFT or OLED. If you've looked into both, you'd know. It doesn't matter so much whether it's TFT or OLED. Not sure how newer generation OLED stand against time. The burn out issue like oscilik mention is real.

It's faster than my finger presses. So, I use it all te time.

X-pro 2 - I don't get it!

All good things come to those who wait....Pro2 is worth it. -

It's a good price. Photographers who need the camera will buy without hesitation. From past observation, the price may hold until nearer to news of a successor. The x-pro3? Say another 1.5 years down the road...... Until then, you may see some drop but not too drastically. -

Been using the Pro2. Love it and don't find it lacking compared to the T2 which I also shoot with. However, I do find that I take them to different events. Pro2 and T2 caters to different photographers. Not due to superiority but more on style of shooting. If you are coming from Pro1, it's a BIG jump to the Pro2. No need to covet the T2's "superiority"....coz, there really isn't any significant ones to speak of. -
Nissin i60a just stopped working- short circuit?
Aswald replied to keenevision's topic in Flash Photography with Fuji X
Not sure but I heard there is a firmware upgrade for the i40 too. Maybe you can try asking Minox USA. -
That's it! I'm reporting to "PETC"! People for the ethical treatment of cameras! Glad it's still working!

Lenspen, go lightly. Works 99% of the time.

No worries Milandro. I'll try it out and perhaps post my findings if it is ground breaking.

Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F/3.5-F/4.8 or XC 55-230mm F/4.5-F/6.7?
Aswald replied to Velvia's topic in General Discussion
I have found that both lenses performs similarly well in good light. In poor light, both lenses performs equally bad too. The ONLY thing Fujifilm could've done to make the XF a clear distinction from the XC, is perhaps WR. An xf55-200 with WR would've been reason enough to justify buying it. -
Thank you.....it would've confused me to no end! Any insight on why that happens?
-
Thanks Glospete. If you hadn't mention Tiffen, I'd forgotten about it. I use Tiffen cleaning fluid and cleaning tissue and they work great. If not mistaken they used to be Kodak? Will definitely look at Tiffen too.

Thanks Milandro. This review helps a lot. Google translate helped heaps. It's good that the review didn't mention about bad color cast. I was trying to find out if it had any. The Hoya and Cokin Pro Z I'm using has some color cast I'm trying not to get into. I'm looking at B+W and Athabasca.

Has anyone heard of or used this brand of ND filters? Any feedback is appreciated. Apart from the Made In Canada, I am finding it hard to find any details or reviews. http://athabasca-foto.com/product-category/circular-filter/neutral-density-filter-series/

Ken Rockwell X-T2 Review... X-T2 not really for Pro's
Aswald replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
Yes, I've seen your racing shots. Pretty impressive. I find that in good light, the T2 is about 20-30% faster than the T1 in most AF areas. However, where it really trumps over the T1 is low light and low contrast situation......and when the booster battery grip is in use. -
Ken Rockwell X-T2 Review... X-T2 not really for Pro's
Aswald replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
It's the same with the Pro2. In a lot of ways, I prefer the pics of the Pro1. If it wasn't for the AF......but I guess I don't own as many cameras as Ken. So, my buyer's remorse isn't half as bad. -

Buyer's remorse? Essentially it's just higher mpix, slightly faster AF and oh....the turbo charged battery grip. -
Ken Rockwell X-T2 Review... X-T2 not really for Pro's
Aswald replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T2 / Fuji X-T20
Let's see......here's what Ken says. AF too slow and clunky Color not good for landscape but good for people Bad ISO dial design Bad Menu system Too big especially with the EF-X500 flash Better to use dslr like D3300 or SL1 for pro work than the X-T2 Hmmmmm......any Pros here. What are your thoughts? -
Tiffen. But always run over again after cleaning with distilled water. If your haze is more difficult than that, you may want to use rubbing alcohol and run over again with distilled water after that.

Plastic fitting, not.
Aswald replied to Chucktin's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
Ditto on the lens cap. While I like the design, it always feels like they could fall off. Try the lens cap of the xf60 macro. And not easy to find 3rd party for 39mm. -
I think Body only, you may be close. A slimmer, quieter body and fast start up, processing speed would make much difference to me.
