Hi All,

I've been doing an insane amount of research on the X-H1's IBIS, and am under the impression that with the right mount adapter (in my case, F-Mount to X-Mount) I can use my vintage glass (I own about 6 Nikkor lenses ranging from 24mm-180mm) with the X-H1.

However, there is no said information proving that if I purchase the X-H1 that the IBIS will work with the lenses. I have found this F-Mount to X-Mount adapter that claims to do the job - https://www.kentfaith.com/search_Nikon%20F%20Lenses%20to%20Fuji%20X%20Mount%20Camera%20Adapter/KF06.101_nikon-to-fuji-x-mount-adapter.

Additionally, I am aware that for each lens I will need to set the focal length in the camera under the Mount Adapter Settings.

Is there proof that Nikkor vintage glass, with the right adapter, will produce smooth video results with the IBIS in the XH-1?

Thank you so much ahead of time,

IBIS should work regardless of the lens you use. I don't own the X-H1 so I'm talking by logic. In some tests they affirm that if you have a OIS lens, you'll have a double IS, on the lens and in the body.
However I saw some tests and even if Fuji states you have 5 stops because of the IBIS, they're about 3 in reality.

I own a X-H1 and sometimes use it with a couple of vintage 1950s Leica M-mount and LTM mount lenses via adapters.  IBIS works very well with these lenses and will also do so with adapted Nikkors.

Regarding IBIS, Fuji claims maximum IS performance when Fuji OIS lenses are mounted on the X-H1 and both the OIS lenses and the X-H1 have been updated with the latest firmware for each, respectively.  Adapted lenses will have reduced IBIS performance.  My experience with my adapted lenses has reflected this. IBIS allows me to hand-hold my adapted lenses down to a shutter speed a stop or two higher than a similar focal length Fuji OIS lens, but 3(+) stops better than what I can achieve with IBIS turned off or when the same lenses are mounted on my X-E3.  I am thrilled with this aspect of my X-H1's performance.

Hope that this helps.

I've used my XH1 with vintage AIS prime lenses and I find it very useful when using lenses that are big and heavy like my 85mm 1.4 and larger. The IBIS works fine but for real stability it is best to use a tripod/monopod. Especially when using large zooms.

Hi, I own the X-H1 and the Sigma MACRO 105mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM along with the Viltrox Nf-fx1 adapter. It sort of works but I really want my lens settings to be transferred over to the EXIF part of the photo. In otherwords, I am looking for a smart adapter to work for these common Nikon compatible lenes.

Are any of you aware of a smart adapter available for purchase? I am not willing/ready to get a native macro lens just yet.

I've managed to get some OK shots with this combination but I really would love for the autofocus and other lens stabalization functions to work.

Here are two of my favorite photos that comes from that combination.

    • Anyone out there have any experience/feedback on the Laowa 55 mm tilt shift? I’d be using it on the GFX 50s ii.
    • Hi, I'm researching a gimbal to get someone as a present & they use a Fuji XS-10. I did a quick search of previous threads on gimbals but all of them seem to either get no replies or spammed by a link to an Amazon list. I'd appreciate any comments from folks who've actually used specific gimbals with the XS-10. I'm aware that some, such as certain models from Zhiyun, DJI & FeiyuTech either don't say that they are fully compatible with the XS-10 but other sites say they do work ok but some functions don't. It's quite difficult to work out which functions work & which don't. Thanks.

    • This was snapped during a lunch.  Total shooting time—a few seconds. We so often read that a proper "portrait" should be snapped with a longer than normal lens, a low ISO to get lots of detail, and have a soft light held up above the head, and slightly to the side. The key, in my opinion, is always carry a camera.  Have your camera available to capture candid, authentic photographs.  Available light, no posing.   This portrait used 2000 ISO, the lens wide open at f4, and 1/100 sec. to stop any movement.  I didn't even take time to compose—I just snapped.  I leave the "Face Detection" on unless I'm photographing a landscape or subject other than a person. The GFX100RF has the equivalent of a 28mm lens.  The large sensor renders fine detail even at fairly high ISO ratings.  And the drawing of the lens is just perfect in my opinion.  It was set to B & W, with slightly reduced sharpness and clarity (set in-camera).  Ideal for "portraits."  Now, for some subjects I will likely increase the sharpness and clarity to the normal setting.  The camera is new, and I'm still experimenting with it.
