More than anything I would be thrilled if I were you (and I'm sure you are) that your kid enjoy photography. I hope my 2 sons (or atleast one of them) who ar only 4 and 1 now will pick up photography too when they get older
18-55 is a great lens, but almost boring because it's so versatile. You will enjoy the challenge and adapt to only shooting primes in due time, and after a while you might not even miss the 18-55
That sounds like a healthy and smart way to do it. I might steal that idea in the future

Still happy with mine. Bought it about 9 months ago. Fastest and sharpest fuji lens out there probably.
I did consider the 56 but the fast AF of the 90 and longer reach makes it more usefull fort sports / action shots If they come out with a smaller 70 f/2.0 WR I would consider selling the 90 and buy that though,
Almost 1 year old thread. I'm sure the threadstarter has chosen a third lens by now.
But ontopic. The 90 makes more sense than the 56 for "animal action shots. dogs in action, catching frisbee's etc." because of the much faster AF and more reach.
Found 2 small scratches today. This would bother me more in the past but I tend to have the X-T2 for a long time so I'm sure it will get more small marks. I only had it for about 8 month thnough
Another 18-55 is soft thread again huh.
Might as well respost my post from that thread
Since like I spamming my pics, here's another "soft" 18-55 shot DSCF8116 by Filip Hermelin, on Flickr
