Your X Lens wishlist

Since I loved the classic 105mm from Nikon way back, I also wish Fuji could make a 70mm, but it should be small and light!

I would like to see a long and lightweight (~600g) telephoto prime, such as 200mm F2.8 or 300mm F4.

Well, Other than a new X-T2 with 24mp or higher I'm very happy with my lenses.

I own the Zeiss 12, the 18-55 (outstanding), the 35 1.4, and the 55-200.

I got into the mirror less Fuji in order to cut back on the weight that I was carrying around so these lenses pretty much wraps it up for me unless something amazing crops up.  The 90, 120, none of those light my fire.  Before I purchased the 55-200 I seriously considered the 50-140 but due to the size and weight, I decided to opt for the 55-200 and "put up" with minor annoyances of it missing focus on occasion, and that "are you happy to see me" lens protrusion when racked out to 200mm.

I have an XE-2, current lens are 18-55, 27, 56, 60. I am still on the fence over which telephoto zoom, but leaning towards the 55-200, as much for its smaller size and weight as the cost. Others on my list:

 

18 f2 to complete smaller prime collection

35 f2 "  "   "   "   "   "

14 F2.8 or 16 F1.4

120 Macro with 1.4X converter 

 

Hope Fuji comes out with a 200 prime, F4 would be fine for me

My wishlist:

 

18-35 1.8 WR, for travel use. I travel weekly, so this would be my all time kit.

120 WR Macro, for macro and portrait use.

35 1.4 WR, as general evening walkaround and 'round-the-house lens.

 

All with linear motors please, my 50-140 made me appreciate those :-)

1. A revision of existing primes to WR.

2. Introduction of Tilt/Shift lenses.

Wondering for fast ultrawide (mean wider than 16mm) something like 9mm, 10mm at least 2.8. Or new 10-24 WR 2.8 kinda.

 

Maybe 23mm WR? (But in a video about 16mm on youtube, guy from Fujifilm Australia said that, there is no problem to shoot 23mm 1.4 in the rain so it`s not a big deal I guess   used them abused them, no problem so far)

 

And of course, some sort of ultra fast prime would be interesting to have, smth. like 33 F0,95. It`s possible, optical schemes are already exist so yeah, why not. 

 

Tilt-shift, at least few of them. And fisheye from FUJI, not rokinon etc.

1.  A small lightweight 50mm WR F1.8/F2.0 would be most useful for my needs. 

2.  A WR version of the 14mm F2.8.

3.  A WR version of the 55-200mm.

Yes yes yes...buy the lens that fit your work/photographic needs. We all know this, but it doesn't stop us photographers from salivating over other lenses that we might not actually 'need' but rather 'want' for some reason or another. I have this problem and I will eventually find the means/reason to buy them lol. In the meanwhile, here's my wishlist...

 

1. XF16-55 F2.8 R LM WR (want to sell of the XF 18-55 for this)

 

2. XF50-140 F2.8 R LM OIS WR

 

3. XF56 F1.2R APD

 

4. XF10-24 F4 R OIS (pls Fuji...make a WR version for this lens....pls)

 

 

What are some of yours?

I have exactly those lenses except my 56 is not APD. Really think Fuji doing some excellent lenses. Next step is to make more of them WR.

100-400 zoom and 120 macro

 

The 90 was on it before news of the 120 came out.

 

For primes, I have 14, 23, and 56 so the 120 will fit the progression nicely.

For zooms, I have the 18-55 OIS and 18-135 OIS. The 100-400 will, I hope, have OIS or I will need a much faster sensor or need to consider the 55-200.

2) XF16 1.4 R WR + XF35 1.4 R

XF16 F2 R WR (maybe smaller than F1.4...)

 

XF23 F2 R WR (maybe smaller than F1.4... and I don't think it's much usefull to have so fast lenses for <23mm)

 

XF27 F2 R WR mk II pancake better than actual XF27

 

XF35 1.4 R WR mk II which I love most

a faster 27mm, f2 would be ideal, and if its the size of the xf18 no big deal

 

a 40mm f2 or 1.8, this would be an ideal length for street portraits

I wish Fuji would scrap the 100-400 plans and plan for a 300 f/4 like Olympus.

I also like Olympus' 8mm f1.8... would be sick if Fuji would compete with that as well.

New to this forum, but been following the FR posts on Facebook for a long time. I am a big photography buff. I am not a professional photographer; but an academic and a policy analyst who uses photography to aid in my work. I have a huge library of bodies and optics, mostly in retro styling. I know for some of the folks it may sound like GAS or too much money to throw around. Well, both are correct; now couple that with a little bit craziness...and Bob's your uncle.

 

I have Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Lumix, and Leica gear, but we are primarily a Fuji household. I kinda work with a three lenses per body strategy. Following is my current Fuji gear coupled with lenses. I only use specific bodies with those specific lenses, very rarely do I deviate from this rule. I shoot JPEGs only and I have defined two custom shooting formulas (profiles) to each lens, one color and one black & white. I think it will also be a very cool if Zeiss comes out with its X-mount trio in weatherized versions.

16mm f1.4 (I sold my 14mm f2.8 to buy it, and love it).

 

I wanted to do that too, but decided to keep both. I think perspective distortion is better controlled in the 14mm f/2.8 when shooting architecture; 16mm f/1.4 is better with organic subjects. BTW, nice pictures.

Match them with a new sensor XT-2 with 5 Axis in body/dual IS stabilization and I could go anywhere.
