  1. I very rarely use my X-E2 for video but wanted to the other day. Found out there is no longer a video option in my drive menu. I don't know when it disappeared. I have the latest 4.01 firmare. Any ideas?
  2. I'm looking for an intervalometer for my XE2, preferably wireless. I understand that the ones that work for Canon cameras will work, connected through the microphone input. Any recommendations?
  3. I've posted a few times over the last month so probably time to introduce myself. I have been retired a year and a half after 30 years working in the arctic for a big oil company. I have had a lifetime interest in photography which I acquired from my Dad who was a great wildlife photographer. I was a late adapter to digital, finally gave up my Canon A1 a few years ago after decades of use. I used a cash retirement gift to buy an X-E2 and 18-55 lens. My plan was to eventually replace that with primes (never had a zoom lens with my Canon) but I have found it to be so convenient, and very decent image quality. My other current lenses are 27,56, 55-200 and just acquired 10-24. I bought the 10-24 for a trip to Europe in September thinking I will sell it and replace it with a 14 or 16 after the trip. I'm finding I really like it so it may end up being a keeper. I'm hoping to do a lot more landscape photography, no shortage of vistas here in western Colorado. I did a lot of research before buying into the Fuji X system. Believe I made the right choice, I especially like the quality of the lenses.
  4. Sounds like great advice Nero. The widest lens I have owned previously was a 24mm on a 35mm film camera. I received the lens yesterday and realized the lower end of the range is a whole new photographic world to explore. Going to be fun! My initial impressions of the size and weight is that it really isn't bad on the X-E2.
  5. I've often thought that a great compact set up would be the X-E2 with the 18, 27, and 35f2 when available. That combination is not very wide, not very long or very fast, but you could sure do a lot with it. I have the 18-55 zoom which is way better than any kit zoom has a right to be. When I bought it with the X-E2 it was supposed to just get me started until I could afford some primes. You couldn't pry it away from me now, just so convenient. The only primes I have bought are the 27 and the 56. I love the 27, makes such a compact outfit and takes great pictures. I find that the 27 focal length really suits my shooting style.
  6. You guys talked me into the 10-24, just ordered it new from Cameraland on Ebay for $719. Renting one from lensrentalonline was going to be $186 for 21 days. If I decide I don't want to keep it I can probably resell it for less loss than that. If I don't keep it, I probably would replace it with the 16mm Fuji and 12mm Samyang. Using the zoom should give me a better idea of exactly what focus lengths I prefer in wide or ultrawide primes. They have 3 more at that price.
  7. I am going to Europe, in September. I'm thinking 3 zooms and the 27mm. 18-55, 55-200 which I just received yesterday and am rapidly falling in love with, and the 10-24 which I am thinking of purchasing soon. The alternative to the 10-24 would be the 14. As much as I love the 56 I'm thinking I will leave it home. Thoughts? Rod
  8. Is it possible to buy Fuji lens hoods, not other brands for Fuji? I bought my 18-55 used without a lens hood and I am not satisfied with the one I got for it. Sometimes I see good deals on used lenses and they don't have the hood. Rod
  9. On the wide end I am in a quandry between the 14 and 16. I already have the 27 and 56. I love the 27 for its small size yet good quality, and there is nothing not to like about the 56. If going for smallest lightest kit, 18,27 and 35f2 would make sense. For high quality and fastest 16,23,56 would be my choice.
  10. I have an XE-2, current lens are 18-55, 27, 56, 60. I am still on the fence over which telephoto zoom, but leaning towards the 55-200, as much for its smaller size and weight as the cost. Others on my list: 18 f2 to complete smaller prime collection 35 f2 " " " " " " 14 F2.8 or 16 F1.4 120 Macro with 1.4X converter Hope Fuji comes out with a 200 prime, F4 would be fine for me Rod S
