  1. I left it "on".
  2. What every b&w photographer needs...... http://www.popphoto.com/this-automated-method-for-colorizing-black-and-white-photos-is-very-impressive?src=SOC&dom=fb
  3. C'est la vie...
  4. That is a good problem to have.
  5. No issues really. "Not hurried" as in having the time to take the shot, i.e. leisurely. I'm not a fast shooter when on the X system, although I can. While I love working through the OVF, I do find that the EVF translates errors I make more readily, i.e. wrong exposure, white balance... The parallax correction on the pro2 is definitely a step up from the pro1. I've had a few misses on the xf35 wide open trying to focus on the eyes of my niece. The keepers on the OVF is currently lower than the EVF. Having said that, I've only had the Pro2 for less than a month. Despite that, I love being able to use both the ovf and evf which is one of the biggest reason for my purchase.
  6. OVF is good if the subject isn't too close. Otherwise mis-focusing will happen. The parallax correction and hypothetical green square is not really spot on in some circumstances. OVF is a joy to use in casual shooting or if you aren't too hurried in the process. X-T1 is great for shooting from the hip due to the tilting LCD screen.
  7. Did you take a photo with it?
  8. Yes. It's normal. My xf55-200 has it as well.
  9. When it comes to certain type of clothing, it's not hip to wear new clothes. It's considered dorky especially to youths. I remember feeling the same in college. Leather accessories must be purposely weathered and new shoes must be rubbed to look slightly worn. You must endeavor to look like you're a seasoned hipster. It's a bit like wearing a new shirt but forgetting to remove the price tag. Those were the days.... When it comes to cameras, I think it's love for the brass. And the notion that the man has been taking photographs for a long time now! Hints at experience and skill? Seniority? I wouldn't do it. As it is, I'm not happy with the scuffing of black paint on the hot shoe of the xpro1/5Dmk1....... but I suspect for reasons above there may just be a market for "worn" looking Fujifilm cameras.
  10. I see what you mean. In any case, the sigma sure looks better aligned than the vintage canon. Much for ZSM to improve on. Means, it can only get better.
  11. Based on what you shoot, I'd recommend, XF14mm F2.8 for Street & Landscape (Also look at Rokinon 12mm F2) XF23mm F1.4 for Wedding, Street & landscape XF60 F2.8 or XF56 F1.2 for Portrait & Wedding XF50-140 F2.8 for wedding, portrait and landscape You'll be well pampered.
  12. I find that on HPM, UHS-II sd cards makes the most difference. Perceive better af with better turnaround review, write and shoot sequences.
  13. Yup! Sony won 1 for their Z3 smartphone in 2015. If I recall correctly....
  14. Wow...awesome. Not easy to win a red dot.
  15. I did some digging around and found some old pics of the Canon FD50 F1.4 I repaired years ago. I notice that the iris isn't perfectly aligned either. I suspect that the brass spindle has some free play when set into it's corresponding sockets. It can't be too tight as these things need to move relatively quickly. Will probably take a closer look at other xf lenses but I suspect that it really doesn't affect the pic very much......so I'd probably won't worry about it much.
  16. Having done what Nick05 suggested, I now find that the iso dial works well. If anything which I find slightly awkward is the larger size of the exposure compensation dial. It's probably in line with the bigger thumb grip...so I guess, it cannot be helped. On the xpro1, it's nice and smaller. AF servo hits about 80% keepers. Not quite as confident as the 5D3 for example......and for that I guess it's down to the lenses. Other than that, it's a great camera for my usage. Absolutely loving it.
  17. Beautiful Pics and really loving the IQ of this lens. It's a wonder how they can produce such a noticeable misalignment with their iris. For all we know, it is exactly this misalignment which gives its "characteristics"!
  18. I use a Nikon D7000. I have the XPro1, Xpro2 and XT1. All I can say is, it's going to be a BIG jump going from the D7000 to the XT1. Everything is much better. Despite what Ken Kessler said about the D7000's 3D AF Servo, I have NOT been able to get much keepers. It is also fair to note that the D7000 is fairly old camera. The D7200 is a much, much better machine. For Lenses, I'd recommend, Rokinon 12mm F2. This lens is crazy sharp with superb IQ. I use this too. XF35 F1.4 or XF27 F2.8 (if you prefer to do more street photography than portraiture) XF55-200 This lens is easily the best zoom lens that little money can buy. Fantastic IS, super sharp and great IQ. Great handling.
  19. You know what? You are right! I've just tried doing what you suggested and it works....duh?!? Thank you for the nice tip.
  20. When I use my xpro1 I miss the iso dial but when I use the xpro2 I miss the Fn button. I will say this.....Fn button is slightly faster coz I can change iso on the fly without taking my eye off the evf/lcd.
  21. Agree with you. The movie had me gripping onto my chair. The bear attack scene was....remarkable.
  22. On my eizo, the 1st pic looks well balanced. Also, as a note, the subject is wearing a rather loud magenta shirt. I calibrate with Xrite i1Display Pro with good color consistency across all my monitors. I had to get my eizo recalibrated every time I upgraded my gpu.
