Very happy to read this good news. Having dealt with the Japs on more than a few occasions, they're usually very apologetic and are quite prompt. Glad you got everything sorted out.
-
Sorry to hear that. Hopefully Fujifilm will beef up their setup to a higher standard soon. At one of the launches I attended, Fujifilm officials seemed apologetic that they are a small setup compared to the big boys and are doing their best. Thankfully, my experiences with them reflect that.

I think it depends on the lens/ois design and picture taking conditions. I've found that on older Canon ef lenses, turning ois on/off on the tripod had significantly different results. If anything, consistencies were challenged when ois (IS) is turned on when on tripod. On newer ef lenses, the difference is lesser somewhat. With the XF55-200, I've found that I still got fairly sharp pictures even when I forgot to turn off the ois on tripod. However, it's become such a habit that it doesn't bother me. I do it almost without knowing.

Complete Overview over the available and upcoming Fuji X-Mount lenses
Aswald replied to quincy's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Wow.... -
Depends on which is more important for you. XF56 F1.2 Pros - Bokeh, Low Light, Portrait XF60 F2.4 Pros - Closer (much closer) focus, Macro, Lightweight, all Rounder. I'd consider the 56 to be specifically a portrait lens and the 60 to be a better all rounder that can do great portrait and close up portraiture. I own the 56 and have been looking at getting the 60 due to the closer focus I can get.

dilemma

Depends on what you shoot. For the only one lens to buy, XF35 F1.4. It's easily the most versatile lens with a fantastic IQ. -
The whitish fiber like dust appeared less than a month after I acquired the XF18. It progressed to highly visible dust even to the naked eye. I took it to Fujifilm, no comments but they cleaned it for me. However, the dust came back in no time. I left it as it is as I don't use the 18 very often. It's my least favorite lens from Fujifilm. Here's a shot before I sent it to Fujifilm. I don't even want to show the torch through the lens pic as it garnered many unwarranted comments the last time I posted it.

Can you include some photos to show these? It will help a lot. So far, my only 2 issue is with the XF18 F2 lens. Dust in the lens even after cleaning and I suspect it's coming from inside the lens. There is at least one article which suggest they are metal filings coming from inside the lens itself. The other thing is that the metal grooves on the focusing/zoom ring is a dust magnet. They act exactly like a metal file for your dead skin.....but this is a design problem not quality issue. Other than these, the XF lenses are superbly built.

Xpro1 still worth buying? (06.15)
Aswald replied to drb's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
This is a nice shot. Happy face. -
There will come a point in time when we realize we actually hit the "sweet spot" sometime back and are actually making our way back there. For most of us here, the x system brings us closest. I've never shot LEICAs but from what I read, they were mostly used by journalistic (war included) photographers due to their robustness and reliability. That's in the film era. So, it comes as a surprise to me that they may be "unreliable". Digital LEICAs maybe?

I was just thinking the other day.....it's most probably not going to be named X-Pro2 but rather X-Pro1 mk2 or X-Pro1s or even X-Pro1T....... Reason, I can't imagine X-Pro3, X-Pro4, X-Pro5 as their flagship carries on....
-
It's either SONY or the X-Pro2. You'll love the Zeiss lenses...but they're big. X-Pro2 for me.

Ok. Thanks for stepping in to clear my curiosity. I guess, I should try it one day. Been most intrigued with this method. And the results are unique.

Never say never JS. Frank may just lead you closer to the 90.
