  1. I'm probably behind too as I never notice anything until I read this post. I'm still deciding if it's a problem at all....
  2. Yes, the xt1 evf is probably the best of the lot. Very comfortable to view. It's possible due to the space accorded to it by the "prism" hump on top of the body. The rangefinder style xpros just don't have enough space for a larger evf.
  3. Yes, I do agree that the X-T1 evf is very good. It's like a relief looking through it. Sounds like you need reading glasses. It's very inconvenient for photography. I'm not sure if Fujifilm stated anywhere that their evf is color certified. Unless the manufacturer is willing to "color correct" this tint, we may have to live with it.
  4. Have you turned on "Shoot without lens".
  5. I do think that there are two camps. Phoblographer has a theory about things, that's all. There are many very accomplished photographers who know lenses well and somehow able to use them effectively, regardless if it is legacy or modern optics.
  6. The EVF on the xpro2 is superior to the xpro1 and is significantly whiter than the xt1 with the xt1 being the "warmest" of the 3 and the largest and most comfortable to view. Apart from checking focus, brightness and composition I never relied on the evf for wb. I'd check the lcd and on my monitors eventually. For landscape, I'd look straight at the lcd on live view. It never bothered me. I nicked this off blueswanmedia. He was comparing the evf size. The color balance shown is close to what I'm seeing on all my cameras too.
  7. Very nice. I love the x70! One of Fuji's best.
  8. I've been reading.......size is now no longer considered an advantage of the mirror less format. Always with a caveat emptor due to the lenses. So what Sony is literally doing, is compete at dslr level.
  9. Not the sharpest lens. Has some CA problems if you plan to shoot landscape. Gets really close to subject. Center sharpness is good, especially at macro distances. Edge to edge is good at F5.6 and above. Color IQ tends to be slightly "darker" than XF35F1.4 (Even when comparing to Rokinon's 12mmF2) Focuses fast. Lens flare may be a problem, got to be careful. Watch out for dust in lens. It's a dust magnet.
  10. X-T2 will be lighter than the X-Pro2. Better weather sealing, faster AF, battery grip, expected to have 4k video and generally more robust. If I was always out in the field, I'd consider the X-T2 first.
  11. Apparently, the turnoff/on problem is a hardware issue. Something to do with the shutter getting stuck. On another thread, Fujifilm confirms this and the only way is a camera swap. Hope you are 3rd time lucky. Years ago, after acquiring my first dslr, I'd realize that electronics won't last as long as mechanically driven slrs of yore. One of my 3 Canon A1s has had its aperture size detection sensor strip detaching itself from the pcb. To access that, I had to dismantle the entire mirror box assembly.... I'm an old grumpy guy too. So, you are not alone.
  12. Although not quite at the price level, I feel that the Sony's A series market is like Leica's. The most obvious owners of the system are either professionals with requirements which fits and or enthusiasts with deeper pockets. Although the initial "jumping the bandwagon" rush is over, many have jumped nonetheless. Photographers who want high megapixels, compact bodies and love bigger "best" quality lenses money can buy will still buy into the system. Hopefully the success of the A7 series will spin their DLST format back to life again. I'm sure when the "hype" of their mirrorless is somewhat lessened, they'll start to pay attention to what their professional customers say. I've used Sony's products all my life. Over the years, from the success of their compact cassette Walkmans, mini compos, CD players, high end hifi, they've had a whirlwind history of ending successful products prematurely. I've heard that they are discontinuing their Experia smartphone line. The superb Z5 may be the last of the lot. Hopefully your article will cause a change in their outlook and who knows.......keeping fingers crossed.
  13. I'm holding my breath every time I turn it off now......
  14. I thought the same thing......someone tried to imply this over at another forum and got a avalanche of posts convincing him otherwise.
  15. I'm afraid I'm not quite up to their standard yet!
  16. Those are some pretty legendary lenses. I know the 135mm F2.8 lens well as my uncle used to shoot with it. Beautiful. It's a shame to put such beautiful glass on an adapter to an E mount!
  17. The DF should be able to let you do most things. On it's own, it's probably my favorite Nikon. I guess the XPro2 because of the smaller size?
  18. It's quite true..... People often say to me, "Fujifilm!" or "Canon!" when they look at my pics.....after a while, I just say, "yes, sharp eye you got".
  19. I think copper is added maybe it adheres better to nickel plating. Not the first time I've seen copper under nickel/chrome plating on brass. A designer "relic" camera is carefully crafted relic. Nothing like our anyhow worn relic mind you!
  20. Choices....I had a friend who went from the A7 to the A7R to A7Rii and finally to the A7s....always lamenting that he really "didn't need" the higher megapixels....
  21. From an economical point of view I agree with you. I think that their DSLT is the way to go for their professional market. I hope they will continue that line with a successor soon. I was beginning to like it when they "replaced" it with the A7 series. That's when I decided on Fujifilm and never looked back. Not sure if anyone of you here heard of Vinogradov Alexander. He's one of my favorite portrait photographers and he uses the A99 producing fantastic results. Not sure if he's "upgraded" to the A7 series yet. Feel free to follow him. https://www.facebook.com/vinogradov.alexander/posts/10207242170267202?pnref=story
  22. I'm gonna root for macadamias. It's more expensive here and I'm allergic to chestnuts.
  23. Wow....it's probably to cater for their future 100mpix sensor.
