  1. I try not to generalize but on more than one occasion, I can absolutely agree with you. I'll also be the first one to tell you, I'm no pro photog but on another forum, I'd seen some really boring pictures taken by the A7Rii and the 5DsR owners. Usual back yard photos and EXTREME crop of the road sign opposite the road. Dare I also say, selfies and usually nothing more than that.
  2. AFAIK, The X500uses IR optical pulses for trigger. So, you'd need a master X500 on the camera for full TTL off camera.
  3. For that matter, the technology which comes with the extra megapixel may be responsible. I noted a stark difference between the Pro1 and Pro2 when it came to fine details of leaves, grass, sand, etc. The Pro2 is much better at resolving these. Having read further into it, Fuji did do something to fine detail resolution when their X Processor Pro was employed. So, maybe we can say that it is perhaps this technology that people are buying into and extra megapixel came with it, inevitably.
  4. Are you on standard focus assist? Standard can be hard. On the X-E2, you have Standard, Digital Split Image and Focus Peaking. You may select either one to help. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FR3l6S12JA Hope this helps.
  5. Haha...aptly put. In Pilates and Yoga, the navel represents the center of gravity for good balance. And I breathing techniques, we often hear terms like , "navel trying to touch your spine". So, I guess it's the universal center of the human bodies. It's not surprising that Omphaloskepsis emphasizes the navel too. I realized long ago that even at 12mpix, it already exceeds most printing needs. I'm glad that with a bit of extra megapixels, I'm able to crop more. Hence the need for good skills and good lenses coz cropping into a bad photograph just makes it much worse.
  6. More like towards their nether regions.
  7. I didn't see any wrist watch....or any problem with your photos.
  8. Always wondered why the grip of the 5D3 is bigger than it's predecessors.
  9. If the price is the same it makes sense otherwise the Pro2 would not benefit from using the new S battery as it will not draw as much current as the T2 during 4k video. Not much benefit on the Pro2 as there isn't a need for heat protected battery.
  10. On video? My Pro2 gets only slightly warm but not hot on high speed bursts. Haven't tried video. I used the T2 for about an hour. It ran slightly warm but not as warm as the Pro2. Didn't use video either.
  11. I'm not really sure either. I'm thinking it could be down to high accuracy of the af point/exposure. Case in point, I use the smallest af square and as I tracked, say a face, the af square will hover over say, nose, mouth, eye brow, etc..... That could cause the shift in exposure, even though I personally think it shouldn't make so much difference. The difference between each picture in the burst could be a 1/3rd stop different from the subsequent pic. It could be brighter or darker at random. In a series of 6 shots, maximum difference in exposure is 1/3rd stop. Like a random collection of -1/3, 0, +1/3. I'll probably try to mount the camera on a tripod and test it on a static object. Will update results then.
  12. They should perform more or less the same but my bet would be on the newer af system on the pro2. Still I think lenses on the Pro2 will be the defining factor.
  13. That'll definitely be the day!
  14. Those G lenses sure take very nice pictures.....but huge! And the price!
  15. Which x camera are you using? I found the 56 slow until I paired it to the Pro2. I chased my kid down the go kart track with some success. I think that the 16-55 is a wonderful piece of glass.....but way too big for a compact x system. I travel with the X camera so size and weight is important to me. Depending on where I go and what I intend to photograph, I usually carry 3 prime lenses with me. If space allow, I pack another body. If you intend to stay with your existing x camera, then yes, perhaps the 16-55 is the way to go for you.
  16. Sorry to hear that. Get well soon.
  17. I was taken aback by how persistent they were despite my "no". I guess it's about having pride/joy of the things you own. And not everyone love themselves equally.
  18. It's like watching a 10 fps stop motion picture. You'll get used to it after a while. Initially, I ended up watching the motion picture and forgot about tracking the subject after a few bursts... All in all, it tracks exceptionally well. Only anomaly I found which did not really exist (dslr) is the exposure difference between each shot within the burst. They may be about 1/3rd stop difference between shots. It's a little unusual when you view the contact sheets of all the shots.
  19. The rollei looks good.
  20. That's a definite plus.
  21. I've presented this possibility to them before. Their answer was, "No". When probed, "There are issues with ibis" but they admitted that ibis itself was a great idea. Again, they stressed that their priority was picture quality above all else within their x system.
  22. For me, I dislike a scratched/dinged bottom plate. and the rubber does wear out. I'm seeing some already on the Pro2. As much as I avoid it, some people still persist in taking my camera for a "spin". Sometimes, they place it on cementitious or rocky surfaces and drag it either to move it out of the way or when they want to pick it up again. It just shows lack of common sense or clumsiness. I'm no advocate to pampering any gear but I try to avoid unnecessary damage.
