After a few weeks of contemplation, I have decided to replace my X-T20 with the new X-E3 as my travel system camera. While I miss the tilting screen of the T20, I prefer the speed and convenience of the E3's focus stick. All things considered, I'm faster with it, and I'm used to working with it from my X-Pro2, X-T2, X100F and GFX 50S. Unlike the tilt screen, the stick it something I use with pretty much every shot, so I benefit from it all the time.

I also like the superior firmware of the E3, because it includes all those improvements from the two recent X-T2 firmware updates, such as an AF ALL mode, a super-small AF frame, putting ISO on a command dial, up to 15 minutes of T exposure time, separate Shutter-AE/AF settings for AF-S and AF-C, etc. etc.

Finally, there are the color histogram with live overexposure warning blinkies that I use all the time in my GFX, and the much faster/better AF tracking algo (which will only come to the T2 in November and who knows when to the T20). Price is identical with the X-T20, so the E3 it is.

Didn't have this issue. I used the eye-sensor, and no problems, also using the left eye.

Sadly, three of the four virtual touch Fn functions aren't available to me when I'm looking through the EV, only the virtual right Fn button works for me with my thumb.

    It's a mixed bag.

E3 is a T20 with different design, but Fuji is currently withholding the firmware to make the T20 on par with the E3: no new AF system, no color histogram planned for the November update. That's unfortunate.

    Hi fellow Fuji shooters!

I have been covering FIBA Basketball U18 European Championship Division B in Tallinn for FIBA Europe and as on Tuesday I received my new Godox AD200 flashes and Godox X1T-F transmitter, I have been trying them out on court! I have to say that at first it took some time to get used to new system as I haven't used flashes too much with Fuji before, but when I got the grip of it, it works well. HSS doesn't lose too much power with AD200 strobes, which is surprising and that way it works great for sports! The only issue I have found is that about every 6-7 shot I take the flash syncs too early or too late so I miss the shot. I don't know if there is something with my shutter speed (1/1000 - 1/2000s) or the venues. I hope to get more experience with the new system in different setups in upcoming weeks and hope to keep you also up to date with my findings! At least after to days of using the system I'm more than satisfied!

I started one on the other Fuji forum (am I allowed to mention that on here!) and seeing as how this forum hasn't got one yet, please post your GFX images on here.

I'll start it off, I only have the 63mm lens for my GFX so far but hoping to add others when I can. I'm mainly a B & W shooter as you can see below:

Yes, 160 is the perfectly calibrated SOS value. Since such an odd value is hard to communicate to the masses, it's rounded to 200, which is fine by the SOS standard.

Laws of physics leave little choice to "do" stuff. Removing the CFA from a sensor always enhances base sensitivity.

I'm sure they would add it on a Fuji camera that doesn't feature any engraved switches, dials and rings. Like on the X-M1/A1/A2. They have a custom C mode that saves everything.

Turn SHUTTER AE OFF on the X-T2 and it will behave like the X-Pro2.

Isn't SHUTTER AE a function that has been scheduled for the X-Pro2 May update?

I might be wrong, but I think it's not a fair comparison, as what you see on the attached pictures are not raw pictures, they are already processed. I don't know exactly how Lightroom uses the parameters, but if I remember correctly, the Detail section affects the demosaicing stage, which is very important for X-T20 (with X-Trans color filter) and not so much for X-A2 (Bayer filter). Not even mentioning the not-so-good quality of Lightroom X-Trans demosaicing algorithm...

Ending every year with a Fuji-related negative 5-digit balance has to stop in order to avoid going broke. So I'm simply shifting priorities. The  reviewing activity is now relegated to my spare time, and there's little of that when Fuji puts out 4 new products at once. I am confident that there will be opportunities to write up interesting free stuff, but my timing is now based on available spare time and not on Fuji's product announcement dates. The weeks around these announcement dates are usually pretty busy with a lot of non-exciting but actually paid work coming in, and I have two (or maybe 3 or 4) additional Fuji X book projects ahead of me, each in two languages. The past years have indeed been charitiy with regards to my bottom line. My English might be insufficient, but charity is giving money for a (good) cause, right? I love to contribute to the community, but it shall not cost me my existence. My family and my bank account kept telling me that I needed to scale that back. I have no interest in becoming a paid shill or setting up a websites filled with ads and reflinks and donate buttons or paid premium content. Beyond forums and blogs, I also like to interact with real Fuji X users, so I run my home workshops "at cost" to open them to as many people as possible. Folks seem to appreciate that, that's why every available weekend between February and June has already been booked, and I'm already developing a new (third) workshop format for the second half of 2017. Of course this also means that my weekends are quite busy. It's either a workshop weekend, or I am traveling (Malta in March, California in April) to produce sample images with new gear like GFX. Of course, none of these trips are in any way subsidized or even authorized by Fujifilm. In fact, I have to buy a full GFX kit in order to have one for the planned Malta samples images in March, because Fujifilm made it clear that they wouldn't have review equipment available for me in time. So once again, my resolutions are in danger.
