  1. Complex and then some! The rule of thumb that I heard was that the software decision tree started in the upper left corner and when right with sub-decisions as drop-down legs of the tree. Since there's not enough real estate on an LCD screen (or in a viewfinder) software engineers have modified that to suit (something). And as users we have to hunt for what this new "guy" thinks is the proper location for familiar functions. Kind of fun as mental exercise. But ay-kayrumba during the learning curve! 2. Nice, looks like a Polaroid or Hasselblad case? Won't work for me though my Zero Halliburton is still crammed with Nikon F-3 stuff and the humongous Tamarc bag is stuffed with Bronica ETRS stuff. All of which needs to be recycled. Of course. Is like abandoning a favorite pet
  3. When I download my jpegs and Fuji raf files I want to see the folders and am interested in the Detail view (file names, dates, etc) only. Once they are transfered off the SD cards I'll review and cull with Lightroom or ON1, or whatever. BUT Win 10 keeps coverting/updating the view to display the files as icons - bleech. Takes up too much of my time and patience
  4. I printed out (about 90% of) the XPro2 manual and keep it handy. I think I'll add these comments to it. Thanks to all for the menu insights! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  5. If I were wishing for things I'd ask for that "Drive" label to be changed to something more appropriate to it's function. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  6. Thus far (2 months with my XPro2) I have ignored the Q menu. Maybe a solution is to have the first (top?) choice in the Q to restore all personal default setting? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  7. Interesting! I will see if that doesn't help. Doll sized fingers might help too. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  8. For a general comment I've found my XPro2 to be far too easy to change by accident _and_ I don't dare loan it out to wifie. Shudder to think what I'd get back. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  9. The advanced filter function operates on the jpeg creation doesn't it? If then you set raw + jpeg you've got the original that can still be converted in the camera. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  10. What are your settings? What's your support, a tripod? Is it aluminum or Carbon fiber? What lens are you using? Are you putting it on a slight angle? Etc. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  11. Did you try a film emulation setting? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  12. (Sober responce) - I make a living running a copy of Photoshop. Adobe does make some curious choices but it seems to me their desicions lately are driven by marketing forces in that if a change is desirable in PS how that change effects everything in the CC suite is considered. If I were advising I'd say give us a better way to un-clutter the user interface and then make the tools/options smoother. Sitting in front of a monitor, knowing what I want to do, but not knowing how gets old. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  13. Hey he can have Miss Perkins! Mine was more like Mr. Ed anyway
  14. And you expect them to do this free $? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  15. I pickup my X-Pro 2 and my fingers remember the Nikon SP. the Fuji seems thicker and the SP had a more "mechanical" feel too it. I wonder, was there ever any independent ergonomic design studies done for the optimal placement of the controls, levet, buttons on camera chassis? Some are just where they should be, other less so. Would help if my hands were 3/4 size with extra knuckles. I have yet to try the (Android) remote app, but I remain foolishly (?) hopeful that I can put that to use so I can see what I'm doing on a 7" tablet. If wishes were fishes ... 16. Confusing, ain't it? I have an X-Pro 2 as well and I feel your pain. No you didn't buy the wrong lens, the "XF" lenses will operate on the Fuji X series cameras. What you are seeing is that some lenses (Fuji and Nikon are the two I am most familiar with) have left off the Aperture ring and you set the aperture on the camera. As for the ERF/OVF/EVF those selections are made by what I _thought_ was the self-timer switch (on the camera front) and one of the Function buttons. Bottom line is that like me you are going to have to learn a new language! A hard slog but worth it. I got the X-Pro 2 manual in pdf, printed it out 8 1/2 x 11 and scribbled all over it. Just got the 115 X-Pro 2 hints book and am absorbing it as well. Keep asking. Lots of people here will chime in with good dope to help. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  17. That's confusing. To me, an old wet-lab rat, "Develop" does not translate as Convert & Save-as. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  18. I need to sit down with the converter open on a laptop and Bonn's article open on a tablet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  19. In my lite use I've needed to change the battery after about 6 hrs. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  20. How often are you changing the batteries? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  21. I tried the free download over the weekend. Couldn't find how to save an RAF file in another format! Not enough utility in a converter that won't convert. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  22. No. There's a Darwinian process that winnows out the lesser entities sooner than we'd like. So the more there are the better the survivors _may_ be. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks, I'll take a look. Have a collection of Nikon AS lenses. Worth trying. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  24. What is the menu set up on the Fuji to use an adapter? Some combination of "No Lens" plus Manual Exposure? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
