What a PITA. The exposure compensation dial didn't get reset to 0 so I've got a bunch of under exposed frames. Sum beach! Gaffer tape seems to be the solution but I sure wish Fuji had made the zero detent stiffer and the EC +/- flag larger in the EVF screen. Razzle-fratzing camera! And, oh yeah, one of the tripod socket screws has gone AWOL. Pizz, moan. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Problems with the new firmware (3.0.)
Chucktin replied to helderluis's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
So far nothing amiss with my uodate. I have noticed, over the last 2 uodates, that some of the menu choices have a "different font" look to them. The characters appear thinner, maybe they are normal instead of in a bolded font. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
FujiFilm Official RAW FILE CONVERTER by SILKYPIX
Chucktin replied to kyoleung's topic in RAW Conversion Fuji X Photos
I was looking for an image on my laptop yesterday and opened a RAF folder. Widows 10 immediately started processing the files to icons and I walked off wishing I could find a way to turn that off. Came back after 10 minutes, possibly less, to find all rendered into thumbnails and I could run them thru silky pixels to get 4x6s, wife wanted samples, on a wireless printer (Kodak Verite) pretty damm good for a casual attempt. All the control seem to be there, just in unusual places. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -

Prepping for a trip to Chicago (home town) I just did the update. Looks like it worked. But am surprised that _the_ "copyright" symbol does not seem to be there. Huh. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
Very nice. They look at little flat on my cellphone. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Nice pixs. Lots of sedementery rocks, folding and uplifts. At a guess, Arizona? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

If you are truly concerned with longivity then save your files as tiffs along side the RAFs. You can also freeze the file attribute for jpegs. Probably should, as far as that goes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Problems with the new firmware (3.0.)

So. What's the verdict? This is the single comment pro or con on the firmware I've seen. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
I have an Xpro2 and 3 lenses. The 16-55 zoom, the 18 f2, and the 55-200 zoom. The 18 when I going ultra light, the 16-55 80% of the time and the 55-200 if I need to have a tele. If I need anything more elaborate I've still got Nikon gear. The advice to try a Flickr is worth pursuing.

Instax Printer as a Graduation Gift and the Wonder of Prints
Chucktin replied to pete1959's topic in General Discussion
Is the printer dye sub or inkjet? If ink is it dye or pigment? If it's a dye/inkjet the prints might last 10 years, stored properly. -
PITA for certain. Please let us know if you find a solution or "the" answer.

Don't jpegs compress by "averaging" shadow values first then highlights? If so this would obscure the effect you are looking for since you are judging by jpeg quality. I dislike the Dynamic Range adjustment I get with my Nikons and am coming to be dissapointed with what I'm getting from my XPRO2 now. OK, I'm picky☺.

X-Pro2 Firmware Update?
Chucktin replied to bodhilens's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
Have that in my Nikons. I'll haven't done the (Jan/Feb) XPRO2 firmware update yet so can't say if it's there, or not. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
I’ll show you my recycled bag, show me yours!
Chucktin replied to milandro's topic in Bags, Half Cases & Straps for Fuji X
Yes! to being incognito. It's always seemed to me that the ideal would be to re-purpose an ordinary bag so it wouldn't look like camera equipment. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
Thanks, I'll be working on a set tonite and give that a whirl. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
