  1. I heard the X-T2 does not yet do tethered shooting...
  2. Lightroom is all around excellent... is it the best? don't know and don't care... it is the most convenient and good librarian and image quality is good enough. I'll stop using it at some point because I refuse to do the subscription... but as for now, my paid version still works fine.
  3. That is not at all established... and is only speculation on your part. Fuji focused on the fast glass first, then is filling in the lineup with some smaller lenses. If Fuji were downgrading the X series, you would not have seen all the effort to make the X-T2 better for fast action AF. The X-T2 plus grip is not a camera intended to use the 35 f/2 lens. Before Fuji can release something like a 200/2, they needed to have a camera that can match the fast action use case for the lens. I think what Fuji has done with the X-T2 shows that they are still aiming straight at the pro DSLR market. Fuji has also upped the video capability, so there is now also a place for some X lenses for the videographer. And as for dream lenses... I would like a 70/1.4 I'd like the 16-85 f4 with OIS as a nice all around lens and would be useful for video no thanks to the 50-100 1.8 without OIS... my 50-140 2.8 with OIS is superior for my use. Now, a 80-170 f2... that would catch my interest... and please, with OIS. With the 50-140, I am using that lens all the time at 2.8 and in the 100-140 range. I frequently wish it went just a bit higher than 140 I would love a 14-40 f2.8 or f4 with OIS for video
  4. I've so liked shooting with the X-Pro2, that I had been thinking of keeping my X-Pro2... even after receiving 2 X-T2 bodies. I only have 1 of the 2 at this point, but the X-T2 EVF is simply fantastic. For most shoots, I'll be using the 2 X-T2's because shooting the X-Pro2 alongside the X-T2 is clumsy cause the controls are rather different. I'm going to sell the X-T1 for sure... and soon, and likely the X-Pro2 as well, but not immediately.
  5. I'm waiting for my second X-T2 body to arrive...
  6. I run around at events with 2 X cameras using camera straps and one of them always has the 50-140... haven't had any problem... but then one doesn't until one does
  7. I shoot a fair number of conferences, hearings, etc. I never use flash as I'm usually too far away so always whatever 'ambient' light there is. Can be a mix of various artificial light sources, some daylight coming in through windows etc. First thing I do is 3 custom WB settings using a grey card or piece of white paper. I take the 3 readings in the 3 places most likely to be shooting. There could be a main stage, and some secondary panel locations and so on. Depends on the event. I shoot generally 3200 which is usually enough for 2.8 and an acceptable shutter speed. I always use single shoot, not burst mode. If someone is giving say a ten minute presentation that is plenty of time to get some quality images. Watching their movements, cadence etc, I time the desired shots and feel there are more excellent images this way than just holding the shutter. Plus it feels more fun and challenging for me.
  8. The X-Pro2 has a decided bluish cast to the EVF compared to the LCD... bothers me... especially because I mostly use the EVF and it does not match the LCD or what I see with my eyes. On the X-Pro I keep EVF at 0 and LCD also 0... both manual With the X-T2, the EVF is a bit brighter than the LCD. With the X-T2 it seems EVF on manual is too inaccurate and so far I am keeping EVF brightness on Auto. With custom WB carefully set and then looking through the EVF and then at the scene itself, the X-T2 EVF seems satisfyingly color accurate to me. The LCD does seem slightly warmer but I need to do some more tests specifically testing them under different lighting.
  9. Do you have the exact same film simulation and color settings for both cameras? How about WB? You can also manually set the brightness for both EVF and LCD... how are they set?
  10. Yeah... I mostly use an Auto mode when in a fast changing situation
  11. and also add OIS to the 8-16 for video!
  12. The 16-55 2.8 has much faster AF and fixed aperture compared to the 18-55 but yeah, I expect to use the 10-24 a lot!! There is also the 18-135 which has OIS
  13. Seems just as easy to change whichever of the 2 you want each time rather than having to go into the menu. however, you can do something like that in Auto modes when holding the shutter halfway down.
  14. I'd love a 14-40 2.8 OIS lens for video
  15. The EVF for both are quite close for me. Are you talking about Auto WB? Last night I was doing some tests of custom WB for both cameras. They are very close. Of course you have to make sure you have the same settings for both cameras... film simulation, color, etc. Also, do you have EVF set to Auto or Manual? I was doing my tests in Pro Neg Standard. I am finding the X-T2 EVF to be remarkable. It is amazing how accurate it can be. By accurate, I mean when I look through the viewfinder then glance up at the scene how close the colors are. My X-T1 was very good as well, but the X-T2 seems just a bit better.
  16. A couple other small things I noticed today when I turned them on... The framing guidelines and the horizon are too thick and dark in the EVF. More distracting than they should be.
  17. Now I'd like to have a 16-55 2.8 with OIS for video...
  18. I would like Fuji to release an updated 16-55 2.8 with OIS. I've been fine with my 16-55 2.8 for stills, but now with the improved video functionality of the X-T2 I'm planning on doing more video with it. Now I want a fast wide zoom with fast autofocus that has OIS for video.
  19. oh, and if Fuji does make an 8-16 2.8, I would like it to have OIS. Fuji also needs to release a 16-55 2.8 with OIS for those of us who want to shoot video.
  20. I love the OIS on the 10-24... it means I can handhold lots of landscape photos in dimmer light. I've had sharp images at 1/2 second even. The 10-24 is one of my favorite Fuji lenses. It does amazing work on street events. I also especially like the OIS for crowds when I want to catch a bit of movement of people, but otherwise have the image sharp. Now I expect that the 10-24 will become much used for video on my new X-T2 cameras.
  21. would never sell either
  22. No reason to have it... shutter sync is 1/250th
  23. It is already an amazing camera and anyone who doesn't have one is totally missing out
  24. Been doing some casual shooting with the X-T2. I've got the grip and all 3 batteries. I've been enjoying shooting with the X-Pro2 these past months. The X-Pro2 was significantly faster than the X-T1 for blackout, on/off, etc. so it became my primary camera. The EVF in the X-T2 is much nicer than the EVF in the X-Pro2... bigger screen, bigger text, better color. Right from purchase I've been annoyed by the bluish cast to the X-Pro2 EVF. The X-T2 EVF has good color! I'm completely happy with it. I have been doing various custom WB readings. Today is a drizzly completely grey overcast day. With the custom WB reading set, I look through the EVF and then the scene and back and forth. They are remarkably the same. The X-T2 EVF is fantastic! The 'Q' button on the X-T2 is well placed. The X-Pro2 'Q' button is a bit oddly placed for use while shooting since it is on the grip and it has to be flush to avoid accidentally pressing it. As I mentioned above, the X-T2 Drive dial is hard to turn. I am finding the Metering Dial even harder to turn. I'm unable with my right forefinger to turn it. I have to reach my left forefinger across the camera and hook it with my nail. Again, I hope it loosens slightly with use. The AE-L button is not as easy to reach for me as it was on the X-T1. On the X-T1 both the AE-L and AF-L buttons stuck out ever so slightly more than on the X-T2 so they were a bit easier to feel and press. As with all these things, my hands start adjusting without even thinking about it. The X-T2 is a well made camera!
  25. My X-T1 and X-T2 seem about the same for contrast in the EVF
