  1. Hmm, in my youth nobody wanted to take their Rollei at the beach, and a bit of rain was not as dramatic for mechanical things as it is for electronics (oxidation works like a time bomb on circuits)
  2. I really like the processing done on those images, what software are you using?
  3. Finally I've bitten the bullet and got a retrospective 7, to also double as everyday pack. And when about everyone on the internet claim it's the best money can buy, everyone is not wrong. Yes it's double the price of a Tamrac Apache but it's worth 5 times that in quality, look and feel. That thing will last 10 to 20 years for sure, and damn is it comfortable for the weight! Sorry OP, and I tried.
  4. I would not rely on resistance against salt water and sand dust either. However it can save the day against mud / dirty hands/ quite a bit of rain / a water bottle leaking in your backpack / shit. All things that happen when you're on multi-days hike. A rain cover eventually fails, too, in Scotland at some point.
  5. It totally makes sense Nero, you're not alone
  6. Well people walking in mountains like me know weather sealing is not a gimmick. If you only do street you can get away with non-sealed stuff.
  7. That was kind of my thought, until I realized the 18-55 never got mounted since I got the 35 except for "utility" shots (ie visiting a house to buy and taking pics of the interior). So I'm carrying useless weight all the time for no real benefit, the 18 would be better for that. I think the slight IQ difference in corners don't matter at all for utility shots like interiors, whole big buildings or even groups, the point of interest is not in the extreme corners and if I manage to get some slight out of focus areas on such a wide angle the prime might as well be more pleasant, the 18-55 is nothing to brag about in this area.
  8. Hi, Please don't quote my whole long message in your message, it's really unnecessary. I've refined the project as a flickr Album since then, it's here : https://www.flickr.com/photos/132271152@N08/sets/72157653375780539 Someone got it already, it's about an overturn of point of view. Also compositions are on purpose. You don't often see zoo pictures including fences or people zooming almost directly on the head of the animals for a good reason : zoo pictures are some kind of propaganda pretending the animals are happy and "free", or simply to present them the best possible way. I present a different point of view. I won't explain everything, but the point of view turns, and at some point you see people behind fences. People actually paid to put themselves behind fences heh, funny not? Overall the pictures represent how I felt that day and I tried to turn it into a story (disclaimer : I hate zoos like this one, was there for a 2 yo not for me, and didn't want to get into the train of people assaulting the animals with huge zooms while their kids stomp on the windows because I'm not one who thinks it's ok to capture a polar bear and put it in France to make money with it. I have nothing against animal "parks" or "educative farms" tho where local or totally adapted animals have a lot of space to live) This is counter-propaganda if you like, although I could have get really dirty and showed (or exagerated) how miserable the polar bear looked, how unhappy the lama was (I just suggested it there) or how the long haired wolf was running in circles forever in 3 square meters. Now before you judge me as being negative, I'm not, I just document stuff. Here is an album of a park where animals are all very happy and live in great synergy with the humans working there and the public : https://www.flickr.com/photos/132271152@N08/sets/72157653723456006
  9. No issue here with Wasabi batteries (w126) The charger also works in a car so it's more practical than the original one. http://www.amazon.com/Wasabi-Power-Battery-Charger-Fujifilm/dp/B0084G3FKE
  10. 1. French fries 2. Expresso 3. Ice cream Can't wait !!!! ZOMG plz rush FUJI
  11. Would it be possible to load the X100s card in the X-T1 and apply CC on the RAF files through the in-camera editor?
  12. If you're unsure, I'd say wait until X100T price drops and practice more with what you have meanwhile. You sound a bit confused so I don't think your equipment is limiting you. Moreover X-E2 + 18mm is not comparable, that would be X-E2 + 27mm.
  13. For a beginner (like I am) I'd advise quite the opposite : don't blurr the background at all, try for months to think your picture WITH the background in it until it becomes automatic. Only use larger apertures if light doesn't allow you to shoot around f/8 (and bump iso first before doing so). It's the best practice, bokeh should not be an "artistic" way to make up for poor composition.

  15. More OOC Jpegs. Busy week-end, not interrested in post-processing. Everything on 35mm f/1.4. 16. So I went to the zoo with a 35mm f/1.4 and 18-55 that didn't leave my bag. I immediatly thought : what about we humans get into small show-boxes and lose our liberty for the profit of another specy? Aren't the humans some strange animals worth documenting after all? Just a thought I tried to translate into pictures, no morals here. Disclaimer : technically imperfect pictures, OOC jpegs. 17. If you carry a MF, for sure a tripod is not a major inconvenience in terms of overall weight. For landscape maybe, but product photography handeld? I don't see the point.
  18. Yes you are also right. In a way I'm in contradiction with myself because I hate the "wow it's all new NEED it" hype and buy most of my stuff when it's 2nd gen. My car is a 1992 Mercedes to give you an idea about what I think of the short-lived products, designed to fail eventually, plaguing our times. So yes, I'd like updates and longer life expectancy, but at the same time I want Fuji to do well so I can be confident investing in more glass, and think it's the greater good in the end. And I bought the X-E1 pretty much as a finished product, not expecting anything different than what it was. I think it's the most reasonable way to think.
  19. I want this, this and that, ok it's pointless because nobody cares, all the people posting here have their own special very relevant wishes that are more relevant than other people wishes, and Fuji is not reading this post let alone care, but am just gonna post it anyway so it can slip in the lymbs of internet where nothing makes sense and everything is quickly forgotten.
  20. X-T10 greater functions than X-T1 that needs wait to upgrade 4.0! X-T10 faster newer highest firmware version best buy.
