  1. Oh right, that's why when tablets became widespread it would be the end of the desktop as we know it. Not only it is not, manufacturers have backpedaled and added a keyboard to their devices (like the microsoft surface) when people started to realize you cannot work efficiently that way (writing long posts and emails on touchscreen, how convenient). A touchscreen has its use when portability is a must and time/working "blind" is not an issue. It is not a "must-have" on a camera. You're obviously more a gearhead than a photographer, I understand there is a market for that and Fuji is maybe right to go in that direction, but maybe not.
  2. Because I'm concerned about weight when hiking for 3 days in complete autonomy and don't really need an ovf, as well as finding until now the x-e priced exactly where I situate my level of photography. I need manual controls. That's what made me deeply enjoy photography, get involved and decent (I hope) at it. That analog feel. Have fun with your clean look and touchscreen thingy, can't wait to see what you do with it and how it takes better pictures than an x-e2 when you'll be fumbling with it instead of concentrating on what happens around you. Yes, I'm kind of bitter because I feel let down by Fuji who I thought, had understood that many people like me wanted a modern analog camera. Now they're going full retard on technology, but technology per se never made great pictures. It can make life easier, but when overdone like this, it can also get in the way. I'm still young but drive a 1992 Mercedes because it will never let me down and I don't need all the electronics of modern cars that I see failing day after day all around me. I still like a modern car if I rent one, but daily? No thanks. I vape on a regulated device at home because I appreciate the electronics in it, but if I go out for a week I grab my mechanical mod because it can't just stop working suddenly. I guess I'm just not into stupid consumerism and "newer is always better" I like reliable, sound stuff that doesn't decide for me what is best and when it will cease working. This X-E3 is just a soul-less electronic device. I don't get emotional with my smartphone either. I am with my X-E1 because it has soul.
  3. Remember the time the x-e1 had something for it compared to x-pro1? That time is gone. All hail the x-a3...
  4. 9.V.III, no, I use the D-PAD all the time with my eye on the vf, and my nose against the screen (left-eyed) that won't work with a touchscreen. Nothing to do with being reluctant to change, it's all about functionality.
  5. Why do you feel the need to overly defend the X-E3 and attack me personally ? 1. That might be true, we'll see. When I saw "no iso/shutter dial" I understood no shutter dial AT ALL (like the X-M1). I'm probably wrong when I think of it again. No, they can't... wait... maybe they can. This would be a huge NO for me. 2. What does this have to do with Leica ? I don't need it. If I needed it I'd buy something else than an X-E (try to think of that in a calm, constructive way, X-E line is not a "clueless" line it's for evolving photographs) More unneeded features = more things to potentially break, and more expensive a camera. 3. I don't want my quick d-pad setting being replaced by a touch screen. It's not a troll (what kind of troll would that be? On what planet are you living?) I like hardware. Buttons. Click. Touchscreen, on my smartphone. Buttons on my cameras. The fantastic mental gymnastics is to think a touchscreen that will stop working in 5 years is AWESOME. 4.Lol. Superior to anything. BIG WORDS. More features is ruining Fuji, you've read it. I'm interrested in basically the same camera as the X-E1, with a bit more features : improved sensor, better AF, joystick, quicker way to change iso. Make it cheaper as well. The end. I buy a camera to make pictures, in the most practical possible way, not to toy around with "features" I don't need. Seems you like that, to each his own. Now on your first attack, I don't get it. I'm waiting since 6 months to decide and will upgrade, and that will be an X-PRO2 that suits what I just said. The X-E3 is a disapointment. I have no need to "convince" myself to not upgrade or to switch brands, wtf? I just need a better AF (and a quicker way to move it) sometimes. But it seems you know better than me what I need, want, and think...
  6. "I haven't seen anything to indicate that this is less of a camera than the X-Pro 2" Buy some glasses, no iso dial, dumbed down automatic/mode dial, no d-pad, touchscreen etc instead of manual controls, what is next no viewfinder ? This is an entry-level / beginners / fiddlers camera priced way too high for that segment. Fuji has become greedy and are aiming only for market shares, not for photographers share as they once did, the f2 lenses were already a pretty good hint on their new position. I'm very disappointed tbh, I really believed fuji was not another sony/canon but hey, it's not that bad my 35mm f1.4 and x-e1 will still be a fantastic combo (albeit a bit sluggish) in 10 years so...
  7. Uh, no, APS-C has reached a point it is miles ahead of what full-frame was a few years ago, without the lenses size / weight.
  8. Oh boy. So instead of making a lightweight X-PRO2 they are going full "camera for idiots who want electronics shinies and full auto mode" /facepalm. I was waiting to decide but nope, it will be an x-pro2 and I'll keep my X-E1 for hiking, thank you very much you can keep your X-M2.
  9. There are 4 reasons to switch from the zoom to the 18mm : Size Weight Close-Focus Bokeh (yes, it's beautiful on the prime) The F2 vs F2.8 aperture is not going to bring an edge in low-light scenarii tbh
  10. Or you just use an SD to usb-otg adapter. This is BS, put that money into image or build quality, or keep the price as low as possible BT doesn't make good pictures...
  11. The f1.4 is a group focusing lens unlike the F2, moving all that glass around is what makes it slower apparently more than the motor (which is faster in the newest lens on top of that)
  12. No you said they are sharper (debatable) quieter (true) faster (true) and more lightweight (true). The image rendering has been left out in your comparison
  13. Only people who never owned the F1.4 find the F2 better, they want to feel comfortable about their purchase which is understandable. But look at both flickr galleries and you'll immediatly see where the keepers are. Now the 50mm F2 is in a different league than the 23 and 35 F2 (which are "consumer lenses" imo. Not that it's bad, they are very good for the low price)
  14. This is not very likely tbh. X-E line has always been a small X-Pro. An articulated EVF would be more likely, would make up for the lack of articulated screen for low shots.
  15. This teaser is annoying. Just post the real rumor when ready, not this "I will reveal you something exciting in very few time" childish thingy, thank you.
  16. Then just buy an X-T20, jesus. As usual people want everything for 500$. The X-T line is a modern (more video oriented, features features features) line made specially for people like you. The X-E/X-PRO line is made for photographers who make pictures, and want a camera that does not get in the way so they can concentrate on what matters (making good pictures. Hint : shooting random people doing nothing special in a street from the hip do not yield great pictures. It's a fun hobby tho. Macros never made legendary pictures either, they are very quickly forgotten.) Or I see another usage, people who want the easiest pockatable and light camera for hiking or street (with the 18 or 27 one doesn't need a bag, and at home they can use more lenses), the X-E line is perfect for them. For this 2 kind of people, a tilt screen only adds bulk and complexity, and is something prone to break. It is not needed. I think the products are perfectly lined up.
  17. Poor Fuji they better hurry then to get you pleased, you seem to be a very important person and they are for sure missing your important dollarz !!! Pretty sure Fuji is reading us so I'll add my 2 cents : Fuji give us X-E3 within a month, or else I hold off my money and won't buy lenses !!! I hope that was clear, Fuji.
  18. What about a cartwheel on the 1st one? It is possible that on the second one, they are not the main subject and/or that it's intentional. These days everyone is looking for sharpness which I find extremely boring to remain polite. what about mystery, imagination, movement, "raw" pictures ? How often do you see the ocean being illuminated at night? I think it happened only once to me Here is another point of view, to disclose a bit of what's going on
  19. It's an evidence, but THE MARKET (of uninformed people who want every possible "feature" "or else" and think the next one will improve their non-existant vision) DEMANDS IT.
