  1. because possibly you have the toggle option of the eye sensor activated, moving the screen activates the toggle
  2. this might be featuring in the category of stupid inventions however I like the idea to reuse a film camera, but this isn’t a practical way to do it https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/samellos/raspberry-pi-case-and-use-a-analog-cameras?ref=category
  3. there are neoprene foam in cylindrical shapes available for all sorts of purposes in all manner of sizes and thickness. Sliding it on won’t be too easy but not impossible as described here. scroll to find... http://www.scvphotoideas.com/2012/11/triopo-tripod-spare-parts-accessories.html
  4. I am sure that the normal to telephoto (at least) focals will give modern lenses a run for their money, which, by the way is very little, the set above costs less than $750. I won’t be buying the GFX, but if I were, adapted lenses would be a large part of my choice.
  5. well, there must be several tons of those old Mamiya 645 everywhere unused and unwanted and cheap. Over 30 years ago they were ( together with Bronica) the bread and butter of many photographers whom couldn't afford Hasselblad, so hopefully they can be used again!
  6. well, as for so many things that we discuss here, some people like to have insurance, even for things they never do. like those who must have 4K video ( and the grip that goes with it) but don’t own the software to mount 4K video or have a 4K TV or monitor or a computer powerful enough to handle 4K. In the regions of the North of Italy there is a colorful expression about people bandaging their head just in case they MIGHT break it...
  7. ...or useless and irrationally expensive if you don’t do any of this ( the majority don’t, methinks).. If you run a risk you insure yourself against it, spending a lot more just in case, is not rational, like insuring yourself against hailstorms when you go on holiday in the sahara. Of course everything might happen!
  8. you could block the wheel... by blocking functions I guess?

  10. well, if you add the 18 to this triad of lightweight lenses your will be in for a bit of a shock when you handle the 90mm.
  11. then if you do set this to the manual shutter speed, how can the front dial mess anything ? Mine ( X-T1) doesn't
  12. like choosing the shutter speed manually with the shutter dial placing anything up to 1/250?
  13. or, possibly you’ve changed the screen toggling option and it now toggles between EVF and OVF , if you hold your hand too close to the camera eye sensor than it only shows ( also playback) in the EVF
  14. Interesting pattern. I don’t think this is a stripe of dead or hot pixels. The enlargement of the first portion shows things that could be hot pixel but other things that are not globular and most certainly some form of “ dust” . What is the luminous object crossing he image in a wavy line?
  15. sure, if they are safe for a lens why wouldn’t it be for the EVF?
  16. Well, it has finally happened, a Contax > Fuji adapter! Third party Autofocus Contax lenses can be now used on Fuji! https://fringerdev.strikingly.com I don’t understad the price , is it really over $500? It will be a minority use in that case!
  17. not necessarily, and you need to upload camera & lens firmware, separately
  18. it is not the first time that we’ve heard that fuji lenses in general (and WR too) have stuff inside that shouldn’t be there. My first 10-24 had black “ stuff” ( for lack of a better word) in , luckily the shop changed it for another one.

shows that it isn’t camera which take pictures, but photographer’s, well done.
  20. very likely, but things are as they are for a reason and knowing the exact reason won’t make any different. If my grandmother had wheels it would be a wagon or Oyb di bobe volt gehat reder, volt zi geven a vogn
  21. well, the reason is that quality and speed came at a price and that price is size. anyway, on line there are many other asking the same question. The answers are, of course only speculations. http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1318898 https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3843781 http://www.fujixseries.com/forums/topic/7985-xf-90mm-and-the-size-of-fuji-lenses/ You could write a letter: “ Dear Mr. Fuji..." I held it for 5 minutes in the shop and thought that one has to have lost of the FUJI mirrorless unique selling point ( size and practicality) to buy this lens, but I think the same of all the ginormous X lenses , they have some sort of function but I can’t see mylsef ( a person who chose this system for its compactness) ever buying any of these large lenses.
  22. don’t you think that if they could have made it smaller they would have done so?
  23. if it is unbalanced with the 18-55 think of what it would feel like with the ginormous 16-55 you can download the software http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/myfinepix_studio/rfc/ they didn’t include a cable because 1) costs more money 2) most people download pictures by taking the card and placing into a card reader They assume that if you have a computer you will have learned to do otherwise. I’ve never used a cable to download pictures they are all unused in the boxes of the camera, additional software CD and manuals on CD’s too...
