  1. actually the last comment was on the Netherlands being a safe place, but thank you for your permission.
  2. good luck, I like your avatar !!! I have Aragonese ancestry ( loooong ago)
  3. yes, well, of course you can keep all the equipment that you no longer use ( why not? You could at least use the lenses?) in a bag that that you can’t use because it contains the equipment that you no longer use. Anyway, tere are collectors out there who would buy all the things that you don’t use and you could put the money to good use. I don’t think this was any special a bag, just a bag.
  4. Recycling is the best way to save energy for the planet and money for yourself and the best way to save money is not spending it if you don’t need to. This is not necessarily a stingy attitude. The more money you save re-using things that you already have around the house, the more you will have to make that important purchase down the line. The bonus for us all is not chucking things away in a landfill. The price of photographic bags, these days, is simply gone ridiculous. I own a nice leather and large bag which serves me perfectly if I want to carry my camera and all the accessories on a trip abroad ( and clothes too). But yes, I don’t always need that big bag. So, I dug out an old bag, changed the strap with another one from yet another bag I already had. and I was in business. My original ’70 photographic case with leather on an aluminum frame was ready to go. Body and two lenses ( 18-55 + 50-230) I can go anywhere and do almost anything, of course I can choose other lenses too ( the front pocket gives you even more space for some other things that you may need)
  5. and now this pistol grip used together with a monopod , great way to re use things that one might already have. Note that I have installed an Arca compatible L plate clamp for quickly engaging and disengaging the camera
  6. the search engine is at the top right this is one of the threads dealing with this issue, somewhat, I’ve found it with the search engine. http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/348-x-t1x-t10-and-the-weather-sealing-just-a-gimmick-or-a-must-have-feature/ most of us have no real use for the weather sealing but, like so many things, many feel that once it is there , not having it is like missing out on something, even if they will most probably never use it. Perhaps it perceived as a sort of emasculation to not have the best , the top, of anything. I’ve often been rebutted that “ i do it because I can afford it” . I personally wouldn’t make it, unless you are sure to use it, the criterium to buy a camera. WR costs a lot of money as opposed to a camera without that. for pennies one can buy a rain hood
  7. well, if the camera with the lens in a 0 position no longer achieves focust at infinity ( and I am assuming ti did before) something is no longer where it is supposed to be. There are a number of moving parts for both of the tilt or shift movement that might affect this. Are you sure, first of all, that you are zeroing the adapter? I’ve only briefly played with ( and then decided that it was not what I wanted because of its price) this adapter but I own the tilt adapter. The previous owner had delivered it to me misaligned. It meant that you couldn’t really tighten it in position but there was a wiggle. I asked him, is this wiggle normal, he said yes, maybe he had this from the beginning (!), So I wrote Kipon they came back to me with a detailed description (took pictures too) on how to remount the thing using the register pins. As they predicted, the register pins had been misaligned, the previous owner must have been screwing the fastening mechanism completely loose and then turned the ring, in doing so the adapter could no longer being fastened. Write to Kipon, they are helpful.
  8. if something has misaligned then infinity focus is no longer there. Make sure that everything is back to the 0 position correctly.
  9. Holland is as safe a place as it can be. I sometimes go around with a VERY flashy Petzval brass lens attached to my unobscured cameras. Never had a problem. Also, spent Xmas in Italy with my X-T1. No problem. Cuba last summer, no problem. But I also dress nicely and don’t put on any rags, just in case being dressed nicely might inspire someone to think of robbing me.
  10. Wow, I am mentioned in the same boat as Fuji..., I just wish I was adopted by mr. Fuji ( Japanese entrepreneurs do this a lot if they have no male heirs, they adopt the husband of their daughters). Fuji has most certainly determined that they don’t have a market big enough in this market segment which is simply being swamped by the phone cameras. They have only lost money with it and they don’t want to compete with themselves since they have cameras as small as the X 10-20-30. They are pushing a different agent. I don’t think they will return on their steps.
  11. That one that you’ve bought is a waste of money, the Lens turbo II is a great piece of optics at a good price. I have had two ( one M42 which I no longer have and the other one for Canon).
  12. let’s leave it here, I’ve asked politely. There is the possibility to not read my opinions and my posts, please if they bother you, use it.
  13. you are now making a puerile point. I clearly said your described my opinions as such. “ Using the derogatory adjective “ Puerile” ( which comes from the Latin for young kid, a son. Well ...thanks for the ‘ compliment” but I am not young nor am I puerile in my thoughts) about my opinions was completely unwarranted if you were aiming at being truly respectful of my opinions ." please , let’s leave this here.
  14. I don’t agree but I don’t worry in the least... I’will carry on with my life’s vision, regardless. I have done it for almost 60 years already. I understand that some people celebrate “ having” things above “ being". I try not to. The world would be a beter place if consumerism would’t rule it. Using the derogatory adjective “ Puerile” ( which comes from the Latin for young kid, a son. Well ...thanks for the ‘ compliment” but I am not young nor am I puerile in my thoughts) about my opinions was completely unwarranted if you were aiming at being truly respectful of my opinions . But that has given me now enough insight. Using smileys, however, doesn’t take anything away from such rude ad hominem comments. You said that that you weren’t trying to be rude but you did succeed in being precisely that.
  15. you are probably pressing the focus assist button
  16. yes, there is a whole arty trend pursuing that way of expression, a bit like all those who were into Polaroid art at one time ( I too was very involved in the PN 55 & 655)
  17. True, but there are also folks out there who want the most light efficient lens and the best IBIS & OIS the largest sensor and the fastet autofocus camera even if all they do is shooting their children or grandchildren running around the house. If cameras were sold only to deserving, competent and able photographers they would be sold in very small amounts and cost a fortune. So maybe it is a good job that the majority of those demanding all these features are really in the need of any of these. I am sure that a lot of GFX will be finding their way into the homes of people shooting subjects that might just as well being shot with a phone camera.
  18. there have been reports of lenses which were internally misaligned, this can be very nasty to spot. I recently got a different lens ( not the 23) which showed erratic slowing down of the aperture and was producing shots that were no way showing the depth of field that one could have expected. Unfortunately these things are difficult to spot at first glance and require some testing. In some cases, you can be sure that some users with little time on their hands won’t even be able to spot the problem until weeks after the purchase. Here is when having dealt with a reputable shop comes into its own. A less than accommodating shop (or one on line) will send this for repair, another will simply replace it or return the money. I did buy a 23mm with my former XE-2 and kept it for a few weeks, the lens was great and performed admirably but it was too big for me.
  19. well, AGAIN http://www.fujirumors.com/?s=80mm
  20. unless you are in an extremely dusty ( worst if in combination with high humidity) environment, this pump effect shouldn’t be a problem. After a very bad experience with an X-E1, I was a little too concerned about dust on the sensor problems but actually, I always managed to blow dust off the sensor ( and the lens, on the last lens element, very nasty, visible on both the 10-24 and the 12mm). A friend went also to Myanmar and came back with dust stuck to the sensor of his camera ( probably a combination of dust and humidity, like for example the condensation formed going in and out an airconditioned area to the streets of a tropical country ) which required specialized cleaning. I have the 18-55 and have had no problems using it.
  21. great picture and one that really does justice to the term street photography, meaning something noteworthy happening in the streets not just a street or people off the street
  22. they will but the 56 1.2 , 23 1.4 won’t and the 35 were a pain for the x-pro-2 user who wanted to use the OVF, which is why they were needed. being cheaper, quicker and smaller was an added bonus for us all.
  23. well, I have never felt the need to shoot anything above 1600 ISO in my entire, long, life and I plan to keep it this way
  24. I didn’t say you did, I simply made my point, and that is that there is nothing wrong with smaller, budget (sic!) lenses. Fuji made amply clear they made these lenses in order to use them particularly on the X-Pro-2 which OVF, an important feature for those who like it, was impaired. Also, as in the case of the 35mm, they were supposed to be faster in focus and WR.
  25. Well, the reason the 50 f2 exists is that one of their best selling camera, the X-pro 2, isn’t dealing well with lenses that are occupying visual space of the OVF , hence the need for a whole new range of lenses. And what’s wrong with “ budget lenses" anyway? Maybe one could learn that there is no direct relation between the quality of the picture and the price of your lens. When I taught photography we made a point of giving the students an assignment whereby they HAD to use a box camera ( they could chose between an AGFA click or clack ) and shoot an entire professional grade reportage with it learning to live with the camera (and lens, gee they are bad!) limitations.
