  1. the remaining XT-1 and X-T10 in the shops over here are simply not selling. The very few whom are stil buying them they have plenty to chose from on the secondhand market since lots of people are being enticed by the new cameras. The X-PRO 2 is already on sale because many are switching from that old flavor of the month to the newest ones. The shop predicts that the first two batches of X-T20 will be completely absorbed by the pre-orders. The ridiculous thing is the X-pro 2 is being sold at a price ( with a 35mm) that is only marginally higher than a new body alone.
  2. yes, “ dust” is often wet or oily and sticks to the protection of the sensor however do keep the dust removal device active both at switch on and off of the camera, won’t always protect but it is better than otherwise.
  3. it is a known problem, cut a very thin piece of hard plastic or a piece from a playing card ( waxed) and then slide on the side of the contacts ( which are probably causing the card to catch), you should be able to remove it. anyway there are other threads on the subject, as usual, things hardly ever happen to one person alone. http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/3467-card-slot/
  4. this is dust absolutely spot on ( sorry could’t resist!) If it is taken at f 2 the chance that it is on the rear element of a lens is not very high and I predict that at close aperture this should be much more visible and defined. Sometimes (as I had a few days ago) the spot are only visible past a certain aperture ( mine were invisible up to f 10) First try to blow it off, chances are that it is only dust, but that it is not stuck. If nothing happens you either need a wet clean or a gel clean. Some shops, luckily, perform this as part of their routine and service other charge you for this. Also point a light source ( preferably some powerful small source) at the sensor , you should be able to see the culprit.
  5. they are and they are also incredibly uniform among all manners of shops also between shops which are , normally, price fighters for other brands.
  6. isn’t this what you are looking for? http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/1609-stop-motion-wedding-film-shot-on-x-t1/ http://www.fujirumors.com/good-bye-canon-first-stop-motion-wedding-shot-entirely-with-fuji-x-t1-check-out-what-can-be-achieved-with-fuji-gear/ https://fujifilm-blog.com/2016/01/13/how-to-use-the-interval-timer-function/
  7. in the NL prices are often identical whether you buy from a small shop or a big chain, I have complained often about the lack of competition of fuji products. As said other times one shop admitted they have “ agreements” to that effect.
  8. the sale is not necessarily carried by all retailers in the whole world at the same time. Shops make their own prices and sales, so you can find it in some shop and not in another. In the NL shops tend to all have the exact same price but when it comes to sales it is very well possible that you find it in a shop and not in another, not only within the same shop you can have a certain amount of items on sale ( with a Fuji sale price) and the same items not on sale. Few days ago the shop where I go was telling me about a X-Pro-2 with halfcase and 35 f2 which only costed €200 more than the camera on its own.
  9. we shall see how many of this will be sold to the emerging film makers. I still don’t understand if Sluw is going to buy the lenses for his filming or if he just likes the idea.
  10. So there are better cameras, and they are more expensive, but they are more expensive ( a lot more expensive) for good reasons, exactly like these lenses are more expensive than photographic ones for many a reason. Yo put expensive lenses on expensive cameras but you don’t put expensive lenses on cheaper cameras. There are reasons for that! Are you buying this new lenses to film with your X-T2 or are you just saying that you like your X-T2? Are you saying that the next generations of videographers are going to abandon dedicated video camera such as Panasonic, Canon , Sony ditching them to buy a X-T 2 and fitting them with lenses costing 200% to 300% more than the camera body? And why do you think that the other camera bodies are so much more expensive? Just for fun? Are those who buy them idiots or just have too much money? How about the overheating questions? Has the X-T2 overcome this problem and will be able to shoot long sequences without an hitch like a proper film camera equipped with a very expensive lens should? As far as I know the longest that the X-T2 camera can film (4k) is 10 minutes then it should shut off because of overheating. Then, and to the professional point, Hol long do you have to wait before you can shoot again? Do the expensive cameras do the same? Are they more expensive for this and other reasons?
  11. the K&F are very well made, http://www.kentfaith.com/LensAdapter As opposed to some no name products out there, they are only marginally more expensive, but there is absolutely no need to spend the money of a Novoflex. I have had several they all performed very well.
  12. Are there no exclusively video cameras better at filming than the X-T2? I don’t think that the X-T2 is even marketed as a predominately Video Camera, but as a Photographic camera which can take videos. Let me re-formulate this. Are you going to buy the new lenses to film with the X-T2? Would anyone buy the X-T2 to use mostly as a video camera?
  13. because there there are better video cameras more suited to film with such expensive lenses than a camera eminently made for photography that can ALSO shoot videos but it is not only bult for videos.
  14. sometimes the grease is simply too cold and slowly warming up the lens will loosen it. Although opening ( and closing!) the focussing barrel of a lens like this is not rocket science, a you can see from the videos, it is not THAT easy. If you aren’t technically inclined it maybe be a challenge. Since you need an adapter anyway, you may use one with an helicoid and use it INSTEAD of the helios focussing helicoid. The cost of one of these adapters ( and you need an adapter anyway) will be certainly less than sending the lens to have it cleaned ( about $25).
  15. if you spend that much for a lens you probably want a more dedicated to film camera
  16. You are right Qiki. These are the mysteries of human mind. Despite the way real people use real things in real life, they still want anything which they buy to “ go up to 11” ( quote from “ a spinal tap”) and they want it regardless, even if they never go “ up to 11” themselves.
  17. next village
  18. I agree. Fuji has always had special cinematic & video lenses and they were always a quite separate line in the company. They are different in just about anything and, most importantly, they are VERY different in price.
  19. I suppose you should read this and thank the author flysurfer http://www.fujirumors.com/how-to-expand-dynamic-range/
  20. how gracious. anyway, if you don’t like people commenting on this particular subject, participation to this is not compulsory, in other words, if graping ( rather disturbing term) disturbs you, don’t follow the thread ( top right, click unfollow). Shabby is shabby not chic
  21. unless this means that they are going to vastly improve their performance for video cameras or even produce a dedicated video camera how is this going to impact the average Fuji X camera user? I know Fuji has always done great things for TV and Cinema but that is a sector that is very far from the scope of the X cameras.
