Solved the demosaic issues for x-pro2/x-t2
erwiurewurwehu replied to adventsam's topic in RAW Conversion Fuji X Photos
You sound like the designers of perpetual motion machines or could fusion reactors. "It works but you can't look inside or try it out." In short it sounds like a scam. -
This interests me. Are you saying you got another door as spare part? Did they also give instructions how to replace it? I would rather replace it myself than send it in.

FUJIFILM will develop an XF 8-16mmF2.8 WR lens
erwiurewurwehu replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X Rumors & News
I wouldn't mind something like the Tokina 11-16 2.8. -
I have the Sirui with an Acratech head. together they are not cheap but very good.

These are pretty good. I like the swirly bokeh.

11 suggestions for Fuji, mostly firmware
erwiurewurwehu replied to addicted2light's topic in General Discussion
1,2 and 3 would help me a lot especially with night landscapes. 6 is an interesting idea. Fuji, go ahead and implement the list. It's a good one and you'll get a lot of value for relatively small effort. -
Lightroom 4.4 - can it be updated for better RAW?

X-T1 focusing issue with Zone Focusing
erwiurewurwehu replied to andy_m's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
Zone works for me only when there is nothing in the background to focus on. Single point focus seems to be the way to go. -
Nice shots. Breaching whales are really hard to get. They just appear somewhere and are gone quickly. Aiming the lens focusing is pretty much impossible. Here are some of my mine. It took hundreds of pictures to get some decent ones.
-
The problem with those whales is that they are really unpredictable and it may be hard to find it on time with the narrow FOV of the 100-400. My best shots I have made so far were at around 200mm with a lot of cropping but at least there was a whale in the picture :-)
-
I think 50-140 + TC makes sense. I have been on tours where the whales came really close so 50 or even wider would have been useful. Or often they are far away and you need something long. If I went on a tour now I would probably take 18-135 and 100-400.

Calling somebody's post dumb is not very nice. Some may call it rude... Regarding shaky images due to higher pixel count: I can confirm that effect when I went from a Pentax K-5iis (16 MP) to a K-3 (24MP). In my opinion the quality definitely suffered. More noise and often less sharp. Hopefully Fuji gets this right but I think it's a valid concern.

I don't know how a simulated ISO 50 is implemented but I certainly wouldn't mind having that option on bright summer days.

Confession Time...I've never cleaned a digital camera sensor
erwiurewurwehu replied to CRAusmus's topic in General Discussion
I have a similar loupe http://www.amazon.com/Carson-Camera-Sensor-Magnifier-SM-44/dp/B0091SS310?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage and it's useful. I often don't need to use any other tool to clean the sensor but just use an air blower again. It's also very useful to remove splinters from skin :-). Seriously! -
More Kaizen Love for X-T1 Coming?
erwiurewurwehu replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X Rumors & News
I wonder when the first manufacturer will realize that if they open sourced their firmware they may attract a lot of people doing interesting things with their cameras. -
Testing the new XF100-400mm shooting wild raptors
erwiurewurwehu replied to Jose Carpin's topic in Nature & Wildlife
Thanks for posting! -
These are great! Are these moray eels? They look uncomfortably close :-) I only wish underwater housings were less camera specific. It's a lot of money for one camera that will get outdated soon.
-
With some practice I can do it with cars. It's pretty much guesswork but it's doable. Birds are impossible in CH.
-
I get pretty decent results only in AFC and single point. But only if I manage to keep the subject right on the focus point. I don't think the X-T1 does any meaningful tracking. At racing I have had decent results by picking up the car when it was approaching and keeping the focus point right on it while it passed by. Not easy to do with the 100-400. Zone sort of tracks the object but I have never been impressed by the results. Would love to hear what other people have to say.

XF120mmF2.8 Canceled! :: XF80mm Macro Coming!
erwiurewurwehu replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X Rumors & News
Then it would be more like a 60mm Mark 2. It doesn't make sense to have 60 and a 70mm macro. -
XF120mmF2.8 Canceled! :: XF80mm Macro Coming!
erwiurewurwehu replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X Rumors & News
I don't understand this decision. They already have the 90 as a prime. Why put the macro into the same focal range? -
What's more Important: Taking Pictures or Photoshop?
erwiurewurwehu replied to Patrick FR's topic in General Discussion
The page makes me feel a little better about my own pictures. I always find my pictures a little dull compared to what you see on sites like 500px but it seems mostly in the post processing. -
X-T1 Bulb or long exposure setting problems
erwiurewurwehu replied to Jon406's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
I hate those. It would be really nice if the camera would show a message "Can't do XXX because YYY is set". It's the same with CL, CH, Face detection and the different focus modes. Sometimes they work, sometimes the don't and it's hard to figure out why. -
I always leave it "ON". Haven't noticed any problems
