  1. Thank you for the comparison. Good to know. I usually am in Astia, and I shoot both JPEG and Raw. I have my LR import preset set to Astia and quite honestly the jpeg + the raw look the same to me. Just an observation... Thanks again.
  2. LOL... Why must we drag Apple into this? BTW if you couldn't tell I'm an Apple fanatic.
  3. I feel that Fuji is diluting the camera line, and it's efforts. I wish they focused on updating the aged X-Pro1, and I also wish they upgraded the X-T1 to 24 or 30 Megapixels. Yes, I know the argument about more megapixels isn't a good thing, but I shoot a lot of stock with the X-T1 and my D800. Quite frankly I would love to dump the D800 and the Nikon lenses. However, even though 39% of my sales are X files, as opposed to 20% D800 I still would like some more pixels to make the X-T1 files larger and more attractive to potential buyers -- plus, it'll save me some backaches down the road as I won't feel guilty about not taking the D800 out on shoots. But, that's just me talking... Best all. J
  4. Ok. Now don't flame me or hate me. The initial impression I have after popping off maybe 30-40 shots, indoors is: IT SUCKS. I used the X-T1 with my 18-55. Very few images using zone focus came out, and less than 1/2 of the eye detection images were in focus. I need much, much more shooting, but for now, that is my opinion, and Im sticking to it. My next steps are to test the X-T1 with the 35mm F1.4 We'll see where this goes.
  5. I would LOVE to know what Fuji did to get a print that big; what methodology they used...
  6. I have printed most images at 13" x 19" with no up-rezzing. However, I have one image that I printed 24" x 18", also without having to up size or rez up. It looks amazing! It was taken with the Zeiss 12mm F2.8 Touit, Tripod, 2 second timer, F8.0
  7. THANK GOODNESS! because I wound up returning the 56 due to it's constant hunting with my X-T1
  8. My X-E1 NEVER, ever froze up on me. I used it from February 2013, to March 2014 (when my X-T1 arrived). And I put more than 50,000 images through the X-E1...
  9. I don't think it has anything to do with th FW, it may be the 56. I wound up returning mine as I couldn't stand the hunting back and forth.
  10. I think we are all hoping the new FW 4.0 will fix the hunting the 35 1.4 does. However, even if it does not, that would be the last lens I would ever part with. I love the look of the lens, the images, the clarity and sharpness! In certain situations, it's my go to lens besides the 18-55
  11. Same Here. When I switched from there Fuji S1Pro in 2004 (I think) dSLR to the S2Pro I shot nothing but RAF files. Even back when I was a LR 1.0Beta tester moving from iPhoto, yes, iPhoto to LR with many others, LR did not have a problem opening my RAF files. None.
  12. I hope this is helpful to the group. I have my workflow shown on my blog if you care to visit.
  13. Is anyone out there hearing anything on upcoming sales/specials? I'm in the market for the 16mm f1.4. I don't need it until late August but I'd like to test it before hand. Many Thanks
  14. I've been shooting with the X-E1, and the X-T1 for over 2 years now and in my case, as I also use Aperture mode exclusively, the shutter speed always shows up in the EVF and LCD... As i open or close the aperture, I can see the shutter speed change.
  15. Oh boy. I hope this delay doesn't go past 6/29. I wanted to use the X-T1 to photograph my grandsons' birthday party instead of my D800

    Triumph

Pulling at my heart strings with that Triumph Image!! I at one time owned one -- an Inca Yellow, 1978, Commission number 76157. All original, and oh what fun except when the Lucas Electrics (The Prince of Darkness) as they were known, kicked in.
  18. I had similar experience. I tried to shoot two christenings back to back in a beautifully lit church - big open air windows along both sides, skylights, etc. The 56 kept hunting, and at times refused to focus on the X-T1 (with latest updates at the time). I wound up swapping to the 18-55 or the 35 and had no further issues. On Monday I returned the lens.
  19. I shot film. From 1973 through until I got my first digital camera in 2002. I don't miss it. Period. In the 80's I shot medium format weddings. I would rush home after the final moments of a reception, build my makeshift darkroom in my bathroom, ad process the wedding film -- all before daylight, or before one of my kids had to use the potty. I do not miss it. I believe digital is so much better. My last digital camera, a Mamiya 645AFD with a buch of film backs, and lenses, all in a huge metal Pelican case went on Fleabay a couple of years ago. Done.
  20. @ Trenton. I have not noticed any artifacts with my Singh-Ray filters, but I have not used the duo, nor use SR ND filters. My SR filters are the Warming, Blue/yellow, and a regular polarizer. I'm very careless with ND filter for some reason so I tend to stick to Tiffen, or BW which, if damaged, aren't as expensive in the larger size.
