I saw a few going for 299 a few weeks ago. Cheapest second hand one I found right now is here: http://www.fotokonijnenberg.be/occasions-verhuur/occasions?manufacturer=Fujifilm

I shoot 80% on the 23mm (X100T) and 56 1.2 (APD version). Those 2 deserve to be in any bag frankly I feel. If you add the TCL for the X100 and maybe one more wide angle, you've already got lots of bases covered. I own the 50-140 too, but I used it only twice so far this year... Too heavy for most uses. I tend to advise against picking up too many lenses, but you are free to do whatever you please of course

X-Pro 1 is going for peanuts second hand nowayads. If you don't own a Fuji body yet, I'd consider picking one up just for fun and to have lying around the house. Those lenses are amazing. I would keep all of them for sure.

Fuji 16mm F/1.4 - Can I get some user feedback?
Tom H. replied to TopDownDriver's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Love the 16mm for street shooting, especially at night and in dark places. As from 1.8 it's as sharp as you'll ever need. I can take it down to 1/30th, even 1/15th and still get usable shots. Fuji X-T1, 16 1.4, wifi shared to my phone and quick edit in VSCO. -
Location scouting with an old friend and classmate. All shot on the X-T1, using the 56 1.2 APD, 16 1.4 and some generic speedlights.

Fuji 16mm F/1.4 - Can I get some user feedback?

That's the whole point. If you can buy one for 8 bucks, that means production cost is likely less than 3 bucks, so why not put both in the box to begin with? It's just silly not to include them... -

Call it what you will, I think a 1000€ lens that is built like a tank, should come with a proper lens hood and lens cap that fit that same build quality. It's something most customers will appreciate. I still bought it, but that doesn't mean I can't comment on what can improve. And the plastic one is not that great actually, it doesn't fit snugly so it comes off quickly, or it shifts so next shot you take you'll have the petal sticking into your frame...If I can buy a 3€ lens cap that is better quality in any generic store, Fuji should be able to do better, and same goes for the hood. -
Fuji 16mm F/1.4 - Can I get some user feedback?
Tom H. replied to TopDownDriver's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Lens hoods cost near nothing in production cost, even the metal ones. So yes, for a 1000 bucks lens, I expect a decent hood in the box. And "other brands do this too" is never an excuse. Fuji should be above that. -

For an extra hefty price tag... Just like the hood for the X100T... Let's say I'm not a fan of that policy. -
I have the APD. I never used the normal one. The aperture ring is far too loose for my taste, but that is subjective. Some like it that way. Focus ring is nice and smooth. Focus is improved with latest firmware V4 on the X-T1, even if it's not using phase detect AF. Not a lens for fast action though, but I use it for street shooting from time to time and don't have any real issues. It renders in a very pleasing tone, remembers me of my old Canon 135 f2. But better and sharper and without and aberrations.

Fuji 16mm F/1.4 - Can I get some user feedback?

Love it, use it mostly for environmental portraits. I like the ability to blow out the background with a wide angle. Build quality is superb, even better than my 50-140. Nice snap back focus ring. I wish it came with a metal lens hood, the plastic one feels cheap and I wish that Fuji would finally, finally give us a proper lens cap. The old design barely stays on and I currently have to replace all the original ones with cheap eBay ones that have proper springs in them. I feel it does render a bit more "digital", if I can describe it that way. My 56 APD renders soft, like old film lenses. The 50-140 is clinical, very neutral and seems a bit colder. The 16mm feels "digital", can't point my finger on it why I feel that way. This is part of my basic kit, being 16mm, X100T and 56 1.2 APD. The 50-140 barely gets any use. As far as wide angles go, it's great. -
That is an excellent portrait :-) Would look great on the wall!

anyone used a Peak Design Clutch on X-E2?
Tom H. replied to deluxetothecrux's topic in Bags, Half Cases & Straps for Fuji X
Nope, sorry, I use the Peak Design Wrist Strap for my X100T and I can't see myself using anything else for a small rangefinder, apart from the Peak Design Slide for long hikes.- 7 replies

Did a professional portrait for the most lovely of subjects, my wife. X-T1, 16 1.4. Four speedlights used to light up her and her office.

Beautiful kid and shots!

Did an editorial shoot for my favourite make-up artist. Still several looks to edit out, so far only finished this one. Fuji X100T and TCL

Wow! So many great additions! Thanks all for sharing :-)

I had the new Zack Arias workshop video on editorial shooting and he does something very similar, shooting an X-T1 with 56 wide open using a panoramic head on the tripod. Which allows you to stich several frames together. Will definitely try something similar. But I think a few shots should already be enough to get the desired effect.

Just use a very thin wire, like fishing wire. Should be fine. Once you get a corner off, the rest will follow. Had the same happen to my phone screen protector.

So you have nearly all the Fuji lenses? Djeez! If you have the 50-140 or 55-200, take that. Add a wide angle to a secondary body. That's all you need frankly.
