First and foremost my sympathy and best wishes to find your camera and equipment back. Of course the first thing to do, you’ve already done. Hopefully you were insured? Travel insurances normally cover these risks. I take, from your name, that you are not a Dutch National, if you were on a trip you may have been insured. Also, if you bought the camera and lenses witha credit card you may have insurance (even against theft) for up to 3 years. The website marktplaats.nl is the most import place where secondhand items are offered in the Netherlands but thieves are not likely to be advertising this camera there. Unfortunately, many thieves these days everywhere in Europe, are no longer local thieves but more often than not they belong to groups which move between the countries and are just as likely to be in the Netherlands today and tomorrow who knows where. So, even if your camera was stolen in Rotterdam it will be highly unlikely that it would resurface there. Especially if it was stolen in a place where many tourists come, I am inclined to think that the thieve would not be a local man or woman. This post will serve your purpose much better if you were to publish, here, all the serial numbers of all the stolen equipment. Then not only Dutch members MIGHT keep an eye open but the rest of the members too, because it is way more likely that this will be sold in some other part of Europe (or even the world if they are internet savvy) .

No, the input of the focal lens is not relevant, only for M lenses it would be, it only provides data to the efix nothing else. You can tell the camera that you have a 58mm ( it is a variable quantity that you can modify at will), but it won’t do anything to correct the images. The Use of a tripod is certainly an important factor ( I shot without one) but that would have played a role only under some slow shutter speeds but not crucial above that, unless you have some problems in holding a camera steady. I don’t use any focus peeking aid and simply push the focus assist magnifier button and rely on my eyesight. I found any other method distracting. There is a possibility that the lens is out of alinement but that would show anywhere not only on shots shot afar. You should try another copy.

shooting analog lenses is not always as easy ( I thought you might not have had the aperture operating) one tend to forget they operate completely manually. I just shot a few shots with an adapted Helios 44. Are you sure the dioptric correction is set properly?

I can’t believe that it has to stay there
-
Absolutely, what you see is what you get. I have used the X-E2 for a year or so ( it has been sold now) and several manual focus lenses (adapted or not) and , provided that the lens iw working without a problem, I never had a problem to focus, being a Helios (working well) or Pentax, or Meyer or Chinon or Samyang. Indeed you have to make sure the aperture is closing , sometimes with some adapters and some lenses it doesn’t.

have you looked at the LCD/EVF custom settings? page 216 of the manual

homo faber fortunae suae , quisque fortunae

how much would you sell the X Pro 1 for? Very Little. Use it, the camera is not dead.

Lost Eyecup / Eye Piece X-Pro 2

I am sure that, by now, they have been swept by such a wave of complaints about this that they will come up with a permanent solution. If you repair this yourself, don’t complain if, the moment something else will go wrong, that they say, “ well it is because you repaired it yourself’. -

again, despite the fact that it is technically possible to glue the part on (if not broken in two as few people have reported), this would: 1) Void the guarantee 2) You can never be sure that the camera will still be as weather resistant as Fuji made the camera to be. Hence the need to send the camera to its maker and have it fixed by them, hopefully in a more permanent way. This is probably a design fault which should have been detected and solved BEFORE the cameras came out but unfortunately, due to the pressure to introduce cameras as soon as possible and limiting the Beta tests to a bare minimum, this appears not to have been the case. I hope that the X-T2, which underwent and undergoes similar pressure to an early introduction won’t reveal similar flaws in one of more of its parts. Almost anyone whom I know has bought the X Pro 2 has had to deal with this problem, which to me means that also a fair number of the beta testers must have had the same, but apparently Fuji is subscribing to “ risk making a mistake now and say sorry later, if that is the case”. -
Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F/3.5-F/4.8 or XC 55-230mm F/4.5-F/6.7?
milandro replied to Velvia's topic in General Discussion
You got me wrong. I am in favor of the 50-230 OVER the 55-200mm, I find the advantages of the latter compare to the first, absolutely negligible -

the problem is exactly that there can never be such a thing, the part that is lost is an integral part of the WR system, that’s why Fuji has to replace that themselves.... -

but a DIY solution might make your warrantee void, so, think twice before you do -
the wiggle is not in the lens but the lens mount on the camera and it is a well known problem which, luckily you don’t have. https://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/51138986

Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F/3.5-F/4.8 or XC 55-230mm F/4.5-F/6.7?
milandro replied to Velvia's topic in General Discussion
the advantages are minimal at best. If it were a 2.8 lens yes, but at 3.5-4.8... no -

Fujifilm XF 55-200mm F/3.5-F/4.8 or XC 55-230mm F/4.5-F/6.7?
milandro replied to Velvia's topic in General Discussion
I have said this very often the 50-230mm performs way above its paygrade and the 55-200 is only very marginally more light efficient. there are many threads in and around this theme, often with examples. http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/292-the-humble-though-honorable-xc-50-230mm-f-45-67/ http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/797-xc-50-230-any-good-id-say-it-is/ http://www.fuji-x-forum.com/topic/940-is-xc-50-230mm-identical-to-xf-55-200mm/ here you can test the Fuji lenses in a simulator. I’ve done the comparison for you (click on the pics and expand to 100%) 55-200 at 55 f3.5 55-200 at f11 This is the 50-230 at f 4.5 This is the 50-230 at f11 -
