    It's just what I've been thinking of lately. At the same time as this forum has come to consensus that barebone spec's superiority (Sony) doesn't really matter, we are still debating about lens's micro-contrast, sharpness across the frame, resolution power, etc etc... Force of habit I believe... But nevertheless we love the art of photography, though sometimes talking tech.

    Yep, here you are right. No lens no sense. I'd started Fuji with 18-55mm so wasn't torn apart but if I wanted to have just one prime today it would very likely be 35F1.4

    I keep myself from converting my ILC into bridge camera with this good lens, I'm affraid it makes me even more lazy.

    That's it. I always have Canon S95 with me cause don't like to use smartphone as a camera.

    X-E2 in Manual focus mode does the same as bird said. However in AF-S mode 60mm retains the previous position only during playback and does "parking" after camera's switch off / switch on.

    In this case, I believe, OP should specify what exactly his/her concern is about - the plot, composition, timing, camera settings, etc ... and ask for advise how to improve it. That means he is prepared for some criticism and wouldn't be upset.

    Strictly speaking you can use manual focusing nevertheless, though you are right, it's awfully noisy.

    Not really. I meant I use camera w/o OVF and I haven't got the problem Paul is suffering from. My menu never jumps from LCD to EVF driving me mad.

    Alf, There are places like 500px.com. Billions of so-so photos with a few comments to every one saying the same BS - .... oh! what a lovely picture! love it so much! ... bla bla bla... Do you realy need this way?

    I've seen somewhere around the forum that Fuji recently said that only X-Pro2 will be capable of Acros film simulation, so who knows what's on their mind...
