  1. Hello, I would like to tether my X-T20 from my laptop but I haven't managed to make it happen yet. I am reading around and it seems is not possible yet but they could be non updated pages. Is the X-T20 now able to tether? Other brands have this option on the same price-tag cameras. 🙂 Thank you.

  5. As Markymarkf suggests, get some extra spare batteries. Third part ones are cheap and reliable. Battery life depends on a lot of things, really but averagely is quite good on mine. On a busy afternoon shooting street-photography I can get more than 350 photos with rear display on. I have three batteries in total and never get worried to run out of energy when travelling.
  6. Try also darktable, opensource: https://www.darktable.org/
  7. I am not sure about LR, I use Photoshop and Bridge, but you probably need to update Camera Raw plugin? https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
  8. I've got a Manfrotto BeFree, the aluminium one, because is shorter than the carbon fiber one, hence is less of a pain to carry around. It fits in the side pocket of my camera bag and is quick to set up. I've got it for about a couple of years and my main use is long exposures. Is quite stable and I am using it now as main tripod. Bringing it up and down airplanes as carry on luggage and never had an issue with it. Used on a beach for few weeks. Once back home, I took it apart and deeply cleaned and it came back as new. Highly recommended. You can see an example of my long exposures here:
  9. Hello everyone, I am about to start an underwater photography course and I would love to keep using my X-T20 down there. Searching on the web for housing dedicated to this camera I can find only the Meikon Seafrog, which fits the 16-50, and I guess it means the 3.5-5.6 XC series. I own the 16-55 XF 2.8 one so I was hoping to find something suitable for my actual setup. In case I could borrow my partner 18-55 F2.8-4 R LM OIS. Does anyone have any real-life feedbacks about this case? Is there any other alternative? I had a look at Nauticam and Aquatech but it seems they don't serve the X-T20. Thanks in advance for any advice.
  10. I've got both lenses. I cannot see a difference in sharpness. The 16-55 is heavier but once used to it is a better option to countebalance how the X camera is lightweight. I mostly grab the system by the lens, this way. The 18-55 is a lovely lens for travelling but if you like to shoot openwide, is not ideal. Both are great lenses.
  11. I just had a good experience with them too. My strap broken and the camera went on the floor, flat on the lens (16-55 2.8). Ring broken, electronics gone and the barrel was pretty much stuck. I didn't have warranty because I bought it second hand but it didn't matter because dropping it is not covered it. Luckily it seems they have a flat fee for whatever happens to the kit, and I think it varies according to the model. For my lens it was £160 vat included. They sent me a courier with an empty Fujifilm box ready to be despatched and I just had to drop it to a DPD shop in my area. In few days they fixed everything (with a Year warranty!), and sent it back. I wasn't home so I could choose to have it dropped to the same DPD shop to collect when back. I am really looking forward to put it back in action tonight! :-)
  12. The issue is with version 1.1.13 . Followning my request they just put out a new version, the 1.1.14 that solves the problem and now we can work with .RAF files again.
  13. Hello, I am trying to find an Exif Editor that can work with RAF files. Up to now I have been using "Exif Editor": https://exifeditor.com/ The new version probably have a bug and don't save or process the metadata any more and I don't have an old version to downgrade to. I tried "Photo exif editor": https://www.exifedit.com/ But don't support RAF files. I am not comfortable with command line to try "Exif Tool": http://owl.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/install.html#OSX Is there a helpful software that can help Fujifilm owners? Thank you. Ema
  14. I own a Mafrotto BeFree for almost a year and I have nothing to complain about. I bought it because I already have heavier tripods and monopod from the same brand, so I could match the plate. Despite it seem not that strong at first, is quite stable and I have been able to shoot quite a few night pictures with no problem. I got the aluminium one because when folded down is shorter that the carbon fiber one and looking online I could find quite good deals for colors different form black. I got a red one for about £100. Easy to set up in a rush.
  15. It seems there is a version 3 that works on the X-T20. I just ordered one to see how is it. --- It looks very nice and fit perfectly. Now I have to buy a Nikon eyecup :-)
  16. Have you tried with different memory cards? Have you got the latest firmware installed?
  17. If you want to stick with Adobe, you could download the latest version of Camera Raw plugin, it works very well with my X-T20: https://helpx.adobe.com/camera-raw/kb/camera-raw-plug-in-installer.html
  18. Hi FenFotos, you don't need to download the Fujifilm Raw converter if you already use Photoshop. Install the latest Camera Raw for better compatibility and when your pictures are loaded into that you can manage your film simulation in the Camera Calibration menu (on the right side of your photo, the one with the camera icon). By default the Camera Profile is set to "Adobe Standard" but if you click on that you can see and select the film simulation installed in your camera and see the change applied to the picture straight away. This works with any camera brands and models. Regarding the Exif metadata I use Exif Editor: https://exifeditor.com/ With which I can manage all the metadata and also the film simulation.
  19. HI Milandro, thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, I had a go with the two mentioned setting as well but the behaviour is not changing and is there also when shooting in manual, which is my main way of taking picures. Also I use the pola a lot and I am getting quite frustrated. I think is time to request for a "DSLR behaviour" setting for the next firmware then. :-)
  20. Hello, this is my first post and I would like say hi to everyone and say I am very happy with my X-T20 with my 16-55 1:2.8 R lens. I have a behaviour I would like to stop on my camera: both in automatic and fully manual, my EVF and the back screen tend to adjust the image preview exposure. I find it a bit annoying because I would like the camera to follow what I am trying to do, no matter if my image is under-exposed of over-exposed, even if the exposure is not correct according to the sensor. This behaviour happens also when I am using a pola filter. While rotating it, I am expecting the image to darken in some parts, like the sky usually and the whole becoming a bit less contrasty. The EVF and the scree then readjust the image, so I am not able to see the pola effect to decide when I am happy with. I tried to change the "photometry" in the "Shooting Settings" menu. In the "screen set up" all is at 0. In the same menu changing the "Preview Pict. Effect" from ON to OFF won't change the bahaviour. What setting I should look for? Thanks a lot. :-)
