Oh no worries at all ! It was just something on my side, I wasn't certain if it was related to the same lens or if it was about another lens. But yeah, whatever was said about it already :]

Wasn't this already discussed on previous thread about that lens ? Or am I have a some weird form of "déjà vu" ?

Travelling Combo X-T1 and Two Lenses (But Which Ones??)
darknj replied to bhamx2's topic in Fuji X Lenses
The rumored 23 F2 is clearly something I am looking forward to, if it could get WR that would be even better but otherwise, I can live with just a smaller version than the F1.4. Another way to look at if you don't mind the manual focusing is grab some legacy FF lenses like: 24 F2 or F2.8, 50ish F2 and something along 105 to 135 F2.8. If you grab both a focal reducer and just a simple adapter you would get the following: - 24mm F1.4 - 36mm F2 - 50ish mm F1.4 - 75ish mm F2 - 105 to 135 mm F2 - 158 to 200 mm F2.8 All this with just 3 lenses, 2 adapters and 1/2 focal reducer. I am currently going for that setup for moments when I don't need the AF and would like to take the time to just take a picture. -
There is also the very good Super Takumar Macro 50mm F4, also nicknamed 'lil wonder. A lot more pricier but still below anything on the XF lineup

Travelling Combo X-T1 and Two Lenses (But Which Ones??)
darknj replied to bhamx2's topic in Fuji X Lenses
The current best 2 lens kit for traveling to the very unknown is still the 10-24 and the 18-135. Whatever you point your camera at, you will get a picture of it with these 2 lenses. If you keep your 35 F1.4, you have there also for low light situations. That is my current setup for traveling light and not know where I would be going or going in a country for the first time. It is very far from being the best quality but for the task of bringing backup memories of your trip, it's perfectly adequate. Plus the WR on the 18-135 makes it a very competent "do-it-all" lens, you have some wideness and some reach and the 5 stops OIS works like a charm, it focus moderately fast too and doesn't distort too much on either ends and no noticeable vignetting at the widest. -
Same test done as bird and it behaved the same way for on my side. Not certain why it would be different for you. Side note, I am using an X-T1 on the FW 4.20, haven't updated yet to the 4.30 yet.

Actually, they had to branch out, so on legal terms now; Paypal is a company of its own.

As far as I know, no. It's the lens resetting itself back to its default position, the only real workaround with that is to use manual focus, which you should if you are doing macro work with the lens. Now, outside of the macro mode, the lens is a tad bit slow but not that slow. Don't expect it to grab accurately anything that moves faster than a brisk pace but for static subject, you shouldn't be struggling that much. Specially now that both the X-T1 and X-E2 got the FW 4.x updates

Glee with happiness!

Whoops ! My apologies thanks for correcting that, for some reasons I always count 1.2 as an extra stop of light. Agreed with your pancake comment but lets have a look at the 16mm F1.4, that is no small lens by any means. If we keep the ratio in mind and extrapole a bit on from another lens, let's say any of the FF 85mm F1.8 and the same lens but 1.2, the the faster version of the lens pretty much tripled in volume. So by guesstimate it will be at least between 1.5 or 2 times the size of the current XF 16 lens, we are looking at something that is going to be as long as the 16-55 F2.8 but much more wider, like the others above, it will be rather unwieldy.
-
Err... Can you even imagine what a 16mm F1 lens in size would look like ? Even if made for an APS-C sensor, that lens will be humongous and cost at least 3 times the prices of the X-Pro2 The Nikkor 24mm F1.4 is already heavier than the X-T1 and cost the same price, and you want something that is 2 stops brighter than that ? You might want to consider getting that Nikon lens along a focal reducer and manual focus with it, it will be F1.2 (more or less) and keep the depth of view of a 24mm.

I went for the 10-24 mostly because it complements my 18-135 very well. If I take just those two lenses, I can get pretty much anything in the frame when there is enough light, or just go slower speed for static subjects. That aside, I have to say the 16 is quite a great lens, I tried it for a bit and I did really enjoyed it. But for the size differences, I would prefer to have the zoom for more practical reasons.

Gosh, that's rather hard to say... I would say "depends on the days and needs" ? But always have the following: - X-T1 with a lens, most often the 27 F2.8, 35 F1.4 or my newly acquired Helios M-2 58mm F2. - A second lens, either the 18-135 or the 10-24 F4. If I take a smaller pouch with the bag, I have extra batteries, enough SD card to shoot about 6k in raw, plus whatever is already in the camera. Travel friendly battery charger and either a small power bank or I take the big LimeFuel one. All the cables needed plus some extras, just in case. Following what I am going to do, I take either more lenses with me or the SP-1 printer powered by either one of the power banks. If editing on-the-go is needed, I have my laptop with me but mostly that spot is empty. And a random sort from the following list: - Pen(s) - Grocery bag(s) - Foldable 20L backpack - Umbrella

Last time we heard anything about it, it was supposed to have announcement for end of Q2, early Q3 this year. Then again we just got a rumor about the X200 potential release/announcement for the same time frame...

APS-C sensor is not really that good enough to get the swirly thing, but it can be seen a bit here and there, mostly things like light circles that appears in a kind of overlapping with itself. As for my copy, the only thing weird about it, is the F-stop marking being reversed, at F16, the lens is full open and F2 it's fully closed. Nothing really major since I am shooting exclusively wide open, the aperture ring is also a bit too loose for my taste but again, nothing really major. Personally, I like that lens, it's separation is good enough for a lot of things and it's about as sharp as I can focus. Unlike the SMC Takumar 105 F2.8 that is a bit softer but there is a very good reason why it was nickmaned "Bokehnator" by a lot of users. In overall I really like my Helios it is one of the most regularly put on the came now. I am heavily considering taking it with me for a wedding shot in April for the posed parts with the couple. I will try to see if I can have their agreement to post the pictures online.

X-T1 solely at the moment, seriously considering a second body from Fuji, just not sure between the X-T10, X-E2(S ?) or just jump into the X-T2 when it gets released.
-
Fuji vs Fuji has quite a good comparison of the 16-55 vs 18-55 if you are looking for one.
-
Aww no IBIS, a bit sad for me since I really took a liking to legacy lenses and some of them could really use a steadier shot helper. Oh well, there is always Olympus, the OM-D EM-10 isn't that expensive and could offer some fun. At least I just need to wait for the rumors on the X-T2 before taking a decision for that Nikon D500.

Haven't got it yet, still in transit, I got it for about 110€ brand new but it has be shipped from Asia, annoying but still better than the current alternative of 140€ from Amazon.de or 160€+ from amazon.fr. Oh, if by any chances you find a ENSINOR 24MM 2.8, please do let me know. Up to 50€ I am willing to pay for a good one, doesn't need to be cosmetically perfect as long as it is functional haze/fungus free.

Haven't seen any differences on the FW 4.x on the 60 lens. It's about as good as it has always been since the 4.x FW and still stuggles on the last 2 cm close focus on low contrast subjects. That aside, still a nice little lens that enjoy using on semi-regular basis. @milandro, Oh, I also got a lens tubo for the m42 mount
-
That is quite normal in AF-C, the camera is expecting some moving subject, thus if you stay still you are confusing the AF in what you are trying to achieve.

Available :: X-T1 Firmware 4.30 / X-T10 FW 1.20
darknj replied to Patrick FR's topic in Fuji X-T1 / Fuji X-T10
It was already like that on the previous version of the FW, part of the reasons why I don't use Face Detection anymore and just select my focus point when needed. -
Is the X-Pro 1 dead in the water re updates
darknj replied to Chaps51's topic in Fuji X-Pro 1 / Fuji X-Pro 2 / Fuji X-Pro 3
I don't think so, it is still a very capable camera and is currently relatively cheap. Plus if you didn't had any Fuji prime before, you can still find deals coupled with the 18 and 27. So yeah, quite a nice little thing to have for some random fun at good prices.
