I am also very happy with this one! And having such a small lens is very handy sometimes! Dutch light by Licht Sluw, on Flickr Colourful summer by Licht Sluw, on Flickr Bridge of Beaugency by Licht Sluw, on Flickr

If I were you I'd hold on a little longer and wait with the decision. Looks like you haven't made up your mind yet and it's more expensive to sell and rebuy again. Plus the 27mm won't make a lot of money and is a great lens. Just screw it on once in a while and take your camera when you otherwise wouldn't. And you're happy with the results of the 55-200 and can't reproduce that with another lens. Would be a shame to lose that.

I have this lens since last week and on my X-E1 it's just ok. Not fast, not slow. The results though... awesome!

Fuji says image stabilisation is bad for the image quality (therefore they don't use OIS in most of their primes and top zooms) so I am pretty sure they won't add ibis soon. Not something I'd miss though, even if they'd use IBIS I would use a (small) tripod for long night shots.

Amazing pictures!! Did you try to turn of the OIS when using a tripod? This really helps, I find the pictures very sharp when stopped down a bit.

We can't decide for you if you find 27mm too narrow. I'd personally prefer 27mm for street (don't like too narrow for street) but as you can read on the internet everybody has a different preference. They're both really small but the 27mm is almost half the length of the 18mm (23mm vs 41mm) and that makes the camera really pocketable.

If you have the X-T1 or X-T10 then this seems to work super fast with the upcoming firmware udpate. I didn't see that coming. Link to the thread.

Hah, here's another opinion. The AF speed is just a little bit slower than the 18-55. Not very much. It is noisier but it's super sharp in the centre and amazing image quality. Still an amazing lens. AF is faster on the x-t1 and x-e2 than on the pro1. If you like the field of view i'd recommend it.
-
From what I've read it's not particularly faster in daylight, but it's way faster in low light (but unfortunately I don't own the lens). And keep in mind what russw says! You miss 4 stops of OIS so it'll be harder to get sharp images in lower light.

A vertical landscape this time, but I liked the layers (sky, different trees) and didn't have a very wide lens with me. Colourful summer by Licht Sluw, on Flickr

Sistine Chapel to Tuscany, what would be your 2 lens line up?
Sluw replied to ssobers's topic in Fuji X Lenses
Have fun with the 27, you can shoot almost anything with that lens, it's very often on my camera and definitely a great travel lens. Sometimes when walking through a city you just want to take no or a small camera with you. The thing with this lens is that you just get the same awesome results. As for the sistine chapel I'd take a wide lens like the 10-24 and a mid tele lens like the 56 for details. The chapel is quite big so not a lot in between those focal lengths than air (and of course tourists). I personally bought the Samyang 12mm which is also amazing and which I'd recommend when buying a lens instead of renting (portable, not too expensive, sharp, bright). -
They're just very different and both great lenses. What do you want to shoot with it? I think the 23mm is way more usable as a universal lens because for some situations the 16mm might be too wide. But that depends on what you are photographing. Both combinations are different enough. There are some websites that simulate the field of view (and depth of field). For example this one: http://dofsimulator.net/en/ Just select the aps-c sensor size, aperture and focal length. Can't go wrong with both!

What Canon FD 50mm are you using? The normal one or the S.S.C. one. I find the S.S.C. very usable wide open. I am using cheap Chinese adapters from eBay. No problems yet
