  1. Can't think of anything. It can record external, has 4k, f-log, in- and outputs. The X-T2 is an affordable camera (in video gear perspective) perfectly capable of producing professional video and now with the advantage of having the option of an affordable cine lens.
  2. The X-T2 is actually quite good at 4K video and usable for professional web and tv video's. Lots of dslr video websites which often adore canon and panasonic have great things to say about the X-T2. For example eoshd, noamkroll and nofilmschool. It's not my cup of tea but I can imagine it's a smart move to offer a few very good cinema lenses for people who use the X-T2 as a small film kit.
  3. There are loads of good vintage lenses. The lens milandro mentioned for example. I also like some Canon FD lenses and sometimes use the Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 S.S.C. Edit: you can check the 50mm f/1.4 ssc flickr group for results: https://www.flickr.com/groups/1195075@N20/
  4. If you want 1:1 you can use the Zeiss 50 f/2.8 Macro Touit for Fuji X. Great lens.
  5. Just a thought... I see you already have a lot of nice primes and zooms in your signature. Wouldn't it be an interesting option to buy a back-up body instead? It's cheaper and gives more interesting possibilities. Always keep te 18-55 on one and change lenses on the other.
  6. I meant I used it as a bad example you as a good example. So there are no "best" starbursts. If you want 6 like the example you can buy the samyang 12mm if you want more choose another option. Personally I don't mind 6 points but I like a sharp clean starburst and not like the spread out points like the samyang.
  7. Well... everybody has a different taste
  8. Been googling a bit and most fuji lenses have 7 rounded aperture blades and should all perform about the same for starbursts. Of course the focal length is totally different and some lenses have certain characteristics so you might prefer one over another.
  9. The Samyang 12mm is an awesome lens which I'd recommend for a lot of things. Sun stars isn't one of them. The Samyang has an even number of 6 aperture blades which results in six pointed stars. The fujinon 14mm for example (and loads of other Fuji lenses) have an uneven number of 7 aperture blades which results in the double amount of star points, 14. Samyang 12mm:
  10. Depends of you want wide or not. Also love the 14mm sunstars.
  11. The X100T is a lot cheaper than a X-T2 or X-Pro2 body and that's including lens. Maybe it's not strange it's not weather sealed. It would be interesting to have two options though, the current "cheaper" concept and a higher end weather sealed with updated lens version.
  12. Still... I'd keep shooting with what you have. Everybody is pushing to buy something else but as you say yourself "Maybe spend more time honing my skills." The 14mm and 23mm (on x100s or separate) are wonderful high-end lenses and you already have 'em.
  13. Both! I know a lot of Chinese companies sell rebranded and adjusted products but didn't know they'd even do something like this. That's also why I'm not keen on buying Chinese lens brands even though there might be some good products. I also didn't know about the inversion ring. Something I might try in the future. I have a few older manual focus lenses lying around. So, thanks
  14. It's a great little thing. The Samyang produces great images as well but the contrast, colour and rendering of the 14 just has something I like.
  15. After shooting with the Samyang 12mm for a while I decided to trade it in for the Fuji 14mm. I borrowed it before and loved it. I prefer the slightly less wide field of view and the build quality of the Fuji for anything except astrophotography for which the Samyang probably is better. Also doubted about the 10-24 but I prefer the weight and size of the smaller Fuji lenses.
  16. Yes! That one works, great shots and great skill to have so many cool shots with a wide angle like that. Also nice post processing.
  17. Great shot, your flickr link doesn't work though.
  18. It's definitely a favourite for me as well, love the 40mm FOV and the X100 package size. Beaugency by Licht Sluw, on Flickr Almost raining by Licht Sluw, on Flickr AG centre by Licht Sluw, on Flickr
  19. You're only limiting your possibilities when not shooting RAW (+jpeg). Even if you don't like to edit images now, you don't know what happens in the future But loads of people can live with the little lowe performance some can't, it's a size price trade-off.
  20. When shooting jpeg with the latest firmware installed you should have way less problems since a lot is corrected by the camera. The problems should occur mostly in RAW.
  21. Then we can't help you The 10-24 isn't ideal but you'll definitely be able to take some nice shots in dark environments. It's up to you if you thin the extra lens is worth the money/weight. You could also consider the 12mm instead of the 10-24, it depends on how much wide angle you shoot. The lens is fairly easy to use without AF, but if you use it a lot you might miss it. Image quality wise the 12mm is great.
